  • Well this video shows exactly what a overgrown garden looks like after a tidy up . This garden was totally overgrown. The client wants it tidying up for sald so we are not getting involved with weeding and getting the borders pristine.     Quite like my garden as I bought the house. A speech says that it needs 7 years of work to get a garden reorganized after neglection. I would agree.

    That could be an amazing garden in a year. I dunno if the property was rented but sometimes tenants just never use the garden.

    I deal with stuff 10 times worse than this on a weekly basis, not even joking. I work for a local housing authority and the state some of our tenants let their gardens get into is unbelievable. Good job as always Lee 👍

      9 times out of 10 the garden is better than inside the house if they don't look after the house and garden they shouldn't have the property give it to ppl who do respect them

    the oragon mulching blade is a fantastic bit of kit, well worth the money. I love that big mower, this would make a good project, but alas as we all know when its a rented property its rarely looked after.

    I enjoy your one shot tidy up videos. The beginning to end is such a drastic difference. It is a shame that the owners do not want more than a quick job for sale/rent purposes but I hope your well paid for the work that goes in to these overgrown gardens. Exciting to watch!

    You have done a brilliant job here. It was very sad to see the gardens in that state... Maybe there was a older person/people living there who couldn't manage the gardens anymore or died?     Yeah that’s a rough and ready job that one. It’s rough but it’s ready for someone to put there own mark on lol 😆. It certainly looks a lot better than what it was you should get that extension pole for your camera just pop the camera on it and extend it up into the air and leave it as you get in with your job. 👍👍👍👍

    It’s no silk purse but it’s a hell of a lot better than it was! A little more TLC and a chit ton of elbow grease and that could be a lovely garden once again! That back part just screams for a veggie garden! Plop a nice gazebo in the center with raised beds tucked in all around!

    Why oh why do people who obviously HATE gardening not just live in a flat ! OR pave it or get someone in to look after it, or fake lawn or Something else than this mess !! great job ! I just moved into a house that was vacant for four years and the garden hadn't been looked after in 20 years ! I relish it.

    Once did a garden and found two sheds and a greenhouse the residents didn't even know were there! 12 ft high brambles from back to front! No job is too difficult if you're prepared to put in the graft!

      As always, you are welcome. I've been busy painting my rusty old cyclone fence black, with a brush. It's looking like a new fence now. Oh, and I did go buy myself a new drill. Just have to make time to drill the holes in the pots like you said. Thanks for all your tips. :)

    Great tidy up Lee, it looked like a lot of work, did you do it all by yourself?
    I remember my garden being taller than me when I moved in years ago, (5ft 4in)it was fun discovering the garden and took me ages to clear it with my strimmer and elbow grease. I did discover a large rhodedendron which I still have... You couldn't even see it before I started work.

    I bought the mulching blade of amazon, I'm just waiting it says it will be here by Thursday, and I hope so as I have a massive jungle of a job on Saturday to get on with. if it is as good as you say it is then it should be an easy task, fingers crossed

      @@LHLgardenservices The brushcutter I am using at the moment is a titan I think, I was using another one before the engine packed up on me, it has some power behind it. and will cut through all sorts
      I know it's not the best make in the world but with COVID, quite a lot of my customers canceled on me and I have lost a lot of takings this year due to it. but these things happen. :D

    Lee this is pretty typical of work that I get from Letting Agents,, albeit not quite this "bad".. I have a question! How do you come to a price a job like this? Is it a "worse case scenario" price or would you give an hourly rate. I guess that you wouldn't do the latter... You have the years experience ahead of me.. I think I am pretty good but possibly 50 per cent of the time I get the pricing wrong by up to 30 per cent!

    just used the Oregon blade on a garden that hasn't been touched in three years. It was full of bramble and the blade just wazzed through it. I was best pleased with your recommendation and couldn't wait for the next clearance job. Anyway that was short lived as some kind Eastern European chap stole it from trailer yesterday as well as a blower and hedge cutter. I watched him drive past slowly then 2minutes later went wheel spinning off with my gear in his van. I hope he crashes somewhere and is in pain for years. Hate thieves.

      Once you have cleared it decide what you want and like . See where the light or shade is ..look through a few books for ideas and just do a section at a time 👍

      @@LHLgardenservices thank you, one last question, I've put mulch down on the first 2x2m section. Is weed control fabric a good idea or will the mulch do the job just as well? I will be digging a wildlife pond and creating an oriental theme in the long term and a lot youtube gardeners have mixed views on weed control fabric. :/ i appreciate you taking the time to message me back by the way

      @@causticdew8026 landscape fabric is not a miracle cure...it has pros and cons. The biggest problem with it is people don't put enough mulch on top thinking the fabric will do all the work. You have got to put a good 3 - 4 " of mulch over and pull any weeds you see out as they still can grow in the mulch and DOWN into the fabric.
