im sitting here taking nottes as i prepare for my own run. you said you dont use quest reward as you are the quest designer but you grabbed the all modium from the quest book. i just want a clear out line of rules for when i run this. im going to run it on the same seed. If you could help me out id appricate it. sorry if i am a bother
I love long speedruns like this because there's enough time to really get invested in the run, it's a nice thing to have on in the background over the day

Teaches more than any other type of Let's Play as well.
1. Shows all part of the progression in the video without cuts, where most RUclipsrs say: "We will craft these" and a second later: "Here I already have them crafted and placed them".
2. Not too long time spend on each system / mod that will bore the viewer, since it is a speedrun. Anyone that wants to learn about Refined Storage for example, can easily replicate within 3-5 minutes just by watching. Instead of 30-40 minute tutorials and still barely touching the surface of the mod.
3. Helps a lot on progression order, when I start binge watching many lets play modpacks, after like 10-12 episodes I get bored and never continue, that's why I know the early - mid mods really well, but have absolutely no idea about the end game stuff. Thanks to this I learned about some other mods I've not touched before.

it's easier but time consuming learning like this, but it's better than reading 10000000 wikies and books, i remember even having to transale some random chinese mod wiki (similar to ftb) just for some info that was nowhere

this is by far the longest modpack speedrun in existence, props to you for the effort cause ive always wanted to see what a proper, long modpack speedrun with a bunch of mods involved for the end goal as would be like. tbh ATM was a perfect choice cause there's several expert modpacks with a similar end goal but i bet the expert grind is way too long to actually be runnable lol
My first speedrun of atm7 took 135 hours. Then got it down to 55. First atm8 speedrun was ~31 and now this one at 22!

Why did you have to kill the zombie with a gold sword? Is it because it’s gold it gives you more stuff??
Gold Swords come with looting on it, which is pretty nice for some extra drops. Was looking for flesh to turn into leather there!@@jacobhelton8914

@boomknuffelaar in regards to adding it to atm 9 I agree. Totally bloat. But on its own in smth like ftb interactions, nomi, or gtnh I think its worth it to play.
@@capnbug Yeah when watching it back I also didn't fully agree anymore 😋 GTNH was indeed fun to play and I feel like some of his arguments were about the slow terrafirma-esque start to GTNH and not a criticism of GregTech itself.

It's still crazy that it takes almost 23 hours of in game time to beat ATM8. Truly shows how massive the modpack and the array of possibilities are
The craziest part is that I'm speedrunning it, and this is probably the fastest you can get it without cheating (give or take an hour or two). Most people seem to take 300+ hours!
Have you ever thought about doing a multiplayer run? I think it would probably more than halve the time if you do a very efficient route!@@AlfredGGMC

Technically, you can't "beat" the pack if we're using technicalities. However, the ATM Star is the final goal of the pack for the general playerbase.@@slipperyant7199
If you dont know, you can use cutting board super fast if you assign place block to a keyboard and hold that hotkey instead of right clicking.

9:40:57 dude, I've been watching this for hours, and that's my first comment. I am DYING FOR 5 HOURS OR SOMETHING AND YOU REALISED IT NOW, I AM SO RELIEFED YOU HAVE NO IDEA. That's why I take so long doing modpack stuff, everything needs to be right and at the right spot, and most of the time, I mess it up, so it takes a long time. You take a long time... REALISING what you've messed up, and that's precious cuz you made it so far in so much less time then any attempt I made combined. Thank you for the knowledge.

I believe when you were searching for fortune books in the other dungeon, I think you can do the waila(what am I looking at) find in storage thing and if there’s that book nearby it highlights the chest with a smoke like effect

I’m two hours in. I followed your twitch. I see you’re prepping for speed run. Can I give a pretty dang good tip? You can almost fully automate Vegetable Noodles from Farmers Delight using botany pots. The only thing that takes an extra step is the wheat to dough for raw pasta. BUT it provides 5 minutes of nourishment, so you eat one serving, and no amount of running or mining will use any of your saturation. Obviously healing will use saturation….. but in the mining dimension especially with an all the modium pick, you’re invincible. I just keep mining and mining and mining and barely eat any food and the pick obviously takes no damage. It’s OP in my opinion lol

ATM9 will DEFINITELY be a lot harder in terms of getting around, but I've got plans for it!

barely started the vid, but just wanted to say; you could use coal/charcoal for black dye aswell, so you could save a few seconds instead of killing the squid 😅

As far as I know, there aren't many people who finish the star, let alone speedrun it. I've been doing these runs for over a year now for the ATM packs, and it's something I've curated over my experience!
I don't think flux networks need passwords in single player worlds, I could be wrong though? Pretty sure mine doesn't have one. Unless there is another reason for using it that I don't know about. Great run, learning a lot! Can't wait to see what you get upto next, you're one of my favourite minecraft youtubers for sure :D
I don't think it does either, but I'm so used to making up dumb passwords at this point lol
You can use your number Keys at the top of your keyboard for quick placement. Just over over what slot you want to fill in whatever inventory and press the number of the hotbar slot the item is in
I normally use those but I suck with them lol

When you get those easy first levels in Corail Tombstone, it's worth clicking the chat message to dump into treasure seeker, gives looting against undead

I think you could've save some time having two iron furnaces at the beginning/upgrade iron to gold
I've been using a compact machine to spawn the wither inside of. Not sure how much harder that is to get to than the wither glass, but I can spawn 2 or 3 at a time in there and have had no problems so far.
Well made it 7 hrs and i have to stop and get some sleep OMG I did not know this was 11 HR long and is two parts. I got sucked in around 30 min in and then looked down and I had been watching for 4HR!!!!! Cant stop now got to see it through

With the addition of botania, green dye becomes super easy
Time in the Bottle works well with Hopper Botany Pots.
idea for more speed have the inventory key set to crafting on a stick and have a misc key be your inventory like that you can just not press 9 (saves prob like 7 or more mins)
What are the easier recipes you were talking about when you were making the drawers early on?
From what I heard, the Dev made easy drawer recipes where it just converts chests directly into drawers. This was changed in the latest version of ATM8 by the ATM devs.
Just my opinion, I think modded Minecraft speedruns are one of the most enjoyable type of Minecraft content :D ,

As a player new to playing modded MC the worst thing about Greg Tech, over and above all the other mods in ATM9, is the huge amount of ore types that it adds. All those ores are only useful with Greg Tech and they absolutely choke out your inventory and storage systems in no time flat. I only kept playing because I figured out how to make a backpack void mod, and then set it to just auto destroy anything I found that was Greg Tech. Then it doesn't seem to add anything of value to the game other than just providing an amazingly tedious way to progress, which seems silly when the rest of ATM is jam packed with mods that speed up game play and or add functionality.
I know it feels that way, but make sure you hit U on some of them. When you find a gregtech redstone vein, you can get THOUSANDS of redstone from one vein. So many of the ores are like that!

I love it, but my brain can't keep up to learn it all, still great way to learn since I just started by doing the vanilla first then powah then all the modium then I usually stop and start building ksksks

Any ideas why the chunk destroyer just stopped picking up raw gold? Any idea how to fix?
This modpack is awesome, but I got so frustrated after electricity and power Generation didn't work, even after following a Tutorial 1:1 three times and checking everything for 2 hours 😅 I'll stick with Hexxit like modpacks from now on, but maybe I'll give my ATM8 world another try

Atm9 is going to be fun. A couple of differences of note. You can only /home every 30 minutes. Also, no flight in The Other.
I've definitely figured out how to get around the /home, but the no flight in the other can be cheesed. I've got a few things I need to do to prep for it, but I'm excited!

a tick i use for the other is to go up high with the chunk destroyer and let it kill the spawners in the dungeon then put a mega torch and loot freely

@@AlfredGGMC yes it works but it won’t get all the spawners and won’t get a lot of the blocks but it makes clearing the dungeons 1000% easier I was using it earlier today and got 1100 broken spawners in about 15 mins
Something is wrong if it’s working in the other. It’s usually blacklisted.

I tried playing this before... it would be near impossible to speedrun within a few days time!
What mod/keybind did you press to force all mobs to despawn when in the other?
That is CTRL + U! It's from crash utilities. The other has a problem where mobs just stick around from the spawners and will pretty much crash you if it builds too much.

I would love to do modpack speedruns. Is there a leaderboard website that modded speedruns are documented on?

Currently, I'm the only one (that I know of) that does modded speedruns. There isn't a leaderboard on the website because it would require me to open up the board, then manually review every submission. That means if someone did a speedrun and took 50 hours, I'd have to watch the entire 50 hours lol However, if you are interested, let me know!
@@AlfredGGMC Fair, I thought there'd be a way to make a category on one of the popular speedrun websites but I don't do a whole lot of speedrunning myself so not sure how that works lol
did some research and as it turns out, it's probably not a thing that will happen on said speedrun websites unless it's a popular category. Still, I like this kind of video, I'm already 1/5th of the way through this one! It's a good watch while I work

started a new map today got 571 allthemodium in 14 od hours by mostly fallowing the first few hours of your speed run before ore hammers

Why the chunk destroyer vs the builder with a clearing card? It seems that would have been faster? Or is it not as good?
The Chunk Destroyer is insanely fast, and it can also be enchanted to be better!

i’m not sure if this pack has it but would a time in a bottle help in the run? it’s really cheap for the potential cumulative time save
It does, but I make the speed wand that's infinite use instead! It works the same as the Time in a Bottle, just without the time cost.
@@AlfredGGMC maybe it would help early game, esp with that cactus split, unless the recipe has changed from some gold diamond and lapis
@@muriatic_the recipe was modified and it’s not an early game item. Still a great thing to have in a normal playthrough.

You have to select the Cavern option on the screen, there are like 6-7 types

Anyone know what the best settings are for atm 8? And how much ram is needed for smooth gameplay?
Running into a problem with the netherite sight potion and charm, the potion doesn't work at all and the charm only works after turning it off and back on and times out in about 10 secs? Have you heard of this?
I've had the issue before. It's pretty weird! I'm not sure how to fix it.

You won't be able to. It's hard-coded into the mod itself.
i was gonna attempt to try to follow along with some of your strategies and i spawned into a world with the same seed as yours jumped off the tree and ran to the river and when i tried to place the minecolonies boat it said something about a solid block and then proceeded to completely break minecolonies. nothing i made could be placed down and no error msg is given no markers to indicate stuff in the way. i threw away the boat made another no message no indicators still. restarted the game made a new world with the same seed and it did it again. it wont allow me to place anything from minecolonies down lol i have no idea whats up with that any idea?
I have no idea, that's weird. You have to first place it on a solid block, then choose the pack. Maybe that's it?

if you click off the select a pack without picking one it permanently seems to lock you out of placing anything minecolonies i didnt realise this lol seems to be working now!
