Great art work on the sea wall Sam. To help with filter removal for oil changes find either a small 1" or so wide leather belt with a loop on the end. Wrap the belt around the filter and then pull back against the loop so you can easily rotate the filter off counter clockwise. It also works if you have a scrap of leather or oil resistant rubber and some rope - again put the grip material on the filter and put the rope with a choke loop on it and then pull on it CCW. Another great Sam Holmes adventure in the beautiful Azores! That country is amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Oh the memories :) The Azores have a very special place in my heart. Flores was the very first island I've set foot on after a rather exhausting crossing from Port Hawkesbury in Canada. I'll never forget the intense smell of thousands of flowers, after being denied the approach by a strong wind on the nose for an entire day.

Your videos make me happy. I loved living on a boat when I was your age. It's like getting in the Wayback machine reliving younger years. My uncle was an old yachtsman, he would say to me in a scolding voice WD-40 is for cleaning not for lubrication! Marine grease is for lubrication! 😁 I miss him.

Love the video Sam. Your ability to just document work and adventure in a entertaining format is amazing. Here's a small suggestion. Instead of using a petroleum based grease, try a silicone grease. It will resist water intrusion and is safe on all Buna rubber and viton material. Best part it's clear and has less mess or smell.
Congrats, Sam. As a man with zero sailing experience, Im very impressed by your adventures and the beauty of sailing. Im 35 and you've inspired me to learn everything I can in hopes of one day owning my own boat. Thanks, Sam love your videos. Take care
I have walked that trail!!!! OH how I miss Faial!! Make sure you go to the other volcano, the one that blew in 1960.
wow ok. your mural turned out unexpectedly beautiful.
Love the mural 🎨⛵
I tried your pepper potato sausage dish…it was ok, think I’ll just make a sausage and grilled pepper poboy next time tho
That place is a very nice reward for your crossing. Congrats.
Great videos, thanks for sharing! One thought I kept having on the previous ones was that it would be cool to get a little simple visual on roughly where you are at times. I don't know how hard that is to pull off though, just an idea I thought I'd share.
Watched this and the 2 before it i this series, and it's really awesome! Makes me want to get a boat one day.
I enjoy your video so much. I would suggest getting some "alien tape," Drilling those holes in about seems a little Scary. You're a fantastic young man full of energy, Enthusiasm, And a positive attitude!
Sam this is one of my favorite videos you’ve made thus far. Thanks for sharing your experience. Azores is a beautiful place to visit
Excellent videos - I've enjoyed your sail to the Azores!
fantastic video, love the duck feet scuba fins, what a beautiful trip
Nice footage! Awesome painted boat logo! Glad you had a safe passage.
I use to spend a couple weeks in Faial during the summer in the 80s and early 90s. Stayed at my uncles house. Some of my best memories of my life and I can’t wait to visit again. Hopefully next year.
You are a beautiful person, Sam, your optimism and happiness are an inspiration
Faial seems quite the enclave of adventurers...you belong. Congrats for the bold efforts. Love the boat name too.
"MOOOOOM, Sams drilling holes in the boat again!!!"
BTW, the grips on your bike are installed backwards. Swap left/right and they'll feel much better. Bon voyage!!
I miss him.
This vid showing your first days in the Azores after crossing is the most inspirational to me to get out and have some adventures!
