I know it's said a lot in comments on your videos Sam - but your ability to see the positive in a situation is a lift we all appreciate. Keep the videos coming my man.
Well said👍
Love your videos. You are the Bob Ross of sailing. "Dolphins make all better"
More like the Bob Vila / MacGyver of sailing
@@SailingChannels Perhaps a great combination all of them :)
"There's nothing wrong with having a sailboat as a friend"
Spongebob Ross
I read your comment exactly when they showed up...
“Dolphins make everything better” - Sam Holmes - 😁🐋
I could watch those dusk drone shots for hours. What a awesome place to drop anchor man!
You've been pumping out the content non-stop lately. Really enjoying all the videos. I saw where you were, and as a fellow Scotch lover, I was secretly hoping you visited Islay, which you did. That is definitely on my bucket list of places to go. Can't wait to see where you end up next.
I Love sam holmes sailing. I look forward to the videos.
Keep it up man Its like I'm sailing the world with you.
Alright, Sam! and a shoutout to James who just made it to Hawaii! Yeehaw to you both!
Your positive attitude and zest for life does an old man good! Thanks for sharing the trip.
These are some of my favorite videos, the quick travel logs
What a beautiful mysterious country. Especially from the sea! That fog was amazing. Enjoy Sam, hope you don't get fed up with the weather! :)
This guy is my favorite out of all my subscribed sailing channels and i saw one of his videos where he is from N.C. I'm from Ringgold VA. Hes just an all around great guy. Hope to meet him one day. Hopefully I'll be sailing within 3 years. Stay safe Sam, love your content.
Your drone footage in this video is outstanding! Wish there was a little more. Thanks for sharing.
Amen. Dolphins do make everything better. Nice videos.
Sam,! I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts. You are a wonderfully positive American of the first order. There is only one thing wrong. We need lots more of you!
Outstanding, well done Mr Holmes!
Always nice to see another new video from your adventures, Sam. I've been a follower now for about two months. I've got to say, your videos are always inspiring.
I love that you go sailing to be sailing! Following from Western North Carolina
Iconic for sailors, nice work!
Sam so this is the coolest video yet, coming from me an old sailor !
Sam what a fantastic accomplishment!! You can be very proud of your self and the Pickled Herring. Well Done Mate!!
Sam your boat is looking *great*! You’re reaping the benefits of your hard work. Congrats! 🎉
Thanks for all your hard wark doing the video great to see
Loving your drone shots..amazing as usual ⛵️⛵️😊
GOLD CONTENT. You're my sailing hero at this point. Safe travels and hope you get all the way around to the east side of Scotland to see Tentallon Castle. Would be an amazing view from the ocean.
Excellent video! Your videos make me smile when I watch them. Thanks!
Another great Sam Holmes Sailing Adventure. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video, so professional.
Like the way you adapt your plans when needed, you never seem to let it get you down, always tackle problem solving with a smile.
Fastnet was particularly lumpy when you were there.
Wishing you safe passage and fair winds for you onward journey.
Nicely done, it’s an amazing journey you’re on
Again- Thank you for sharing your off shore sailing experiences and how you maintain living off the grid; the logistics and repairs. As an old Rocky Mountain back packer, among bears, mtn lions, injuries, I never go alone. You going alone is scary to me. I find your navigation, satellite communications, solar power, 12v systems and food preparations very interesting.
Main does stabilize the boat, good call. I believe Patrick Laine circled that same lighthouse.
Thanks for taking us along on Pickle, Sam. While live streaming you answered a question about encountering pirates, but were definitely a bit terse and cryptic. Can you give us a brief discusssion of those encounters?
We might be witnessing the beginning of one of the modern worlds great explorers! Keep it up Sam you are a gem 🤙🏼
Stay safe Sam . Thanks for the update ..
Well done Sam, great to see you sailing our coast!
Sam, Fastnet has to be a big check off the Bucket List 🌊🌊🌊
Great job Sam, these videos are so inspiring.
Hi from Italy, love your adventure!
The diesel heaters fan blowing usually means that you have a fault temp sensor inside the casing, or a bad connection from sensor to the pcb
I’m impressed, most people would go through the Gascanane Sound but you chose the North channel via Baltimore Harbour.😃👍
Sam you are one of my go to posts I go to each day. Love your outlook
That bay you anchored in with the breakers as you probably know is called Barley cove. 50 years ago it was unknown except to locals and no holiday homes were to be seen. In the 1980's it was discovered and as they say the rest is history. You were lucky to have favourable weather anchored there, as it is very exposed to the weather systems stemming from the south/southwest. The bottom is heavy with kelp so you may have had to chop some off when you weighed anchor.
You cleaned up real good Sam. Keep on truckin'!!
Sam, about Chinese diesel heaters, please get yourself a carbon monoxide detector, or even better, purchase a diesel heater built in Sweden or Norway because of what can happen with copied Chinese parts - thanks!
People ask: Do Chinese diesel heaters give off carbon monoxide?
For example, the thickness of the metal used for the heat exchanger, which is prone to burning through to the heated air outlet allowing exhaust fumes to escape. Not only is this a fire risk, but it also means carbon monoxide could enter the living space of the caravan.
I can't see the heater control properly but it is either Eberspacher Webasto or Chinese copy . They are electronically controlled and have built in safety procedures to purge the burner on start-up and to cool the burner after shut down. They appear to have a mind of their own and will very often shut down and then a few minutes later the fan will restart as the heat in the burner dissipates and triggers the thermal sensor. That is quite normal and you MUST NOT override the safety procedures by pulling the fuse. Allow it to carry out the programmed procedures it will stop after it has cooled it again.
Love your work and your attitude towards life Sam, hope you have the wind in your favor all your life. That lighthouse looks like a hand pointing towards the sky at 5:12 and it's giving you the finger at 5:17 btw :)
The lighthouse is steeped in sailing history too! Look up the Fastnet Race (and disaster too).
Cool video Sam as always; thx for sharing!
Hi Sam! I know you have so many interests already, but it looks like it could be fun to add a surfboard to your cargo and play around at locations like this! Anyway thanks for another great video and bringing us along :)
some great drone shots, amazing location
Thanks Sam. That looks like a great place to check out
about your diesel heater, i think that the fan keep going for about 2 minutes to disperse the rest of the heat to not overheat the unit and its components.
I am so inspired - an old sailing lady myself, but where can I read about how you equipped the boats? Tools you brought? Skills and former experience? Swedish fish was a small boat- how did you prepare it? I enjoy your calme positive way of dealing with stuff. Keep posting🌬⛵️⭐️🧡
Really enjoying your videos, great content, well presented.
I sailed around fastnet a few years ago ,got sea sick allday
Can't imagine how they did it hundreds of years ago
i love your videos, and am watching every journey you take! love it! keep sailing.
Love the drone shots
I'm jealous, have a little Freedom 21 and coastal-island cruising is where my boat shines. 8hp honda kicker.
Love it! Keep the videos coming!
Topless in West Cork! Brave
Had to pause from couch/tv veiwing..
SO SICKK!
Great content keep it up .
home Furnaces use a fan limit switch system. One function turns on the fan when the heat exchanger comes up to temp, and the other shuts off the flame…. They of course are designed for auto ignition. In any case if your fan is cycling automatically, you have a thermostatic fan switch of some sort. Probably a preset button thermostat. It will come on if it senses the preset temp…. If it is cycling at low temps, it suggests a failed thermostat… probably due to salt air. It should not be difficult to find or replace.
Thank you Sam! I truly enjoy your positive attitude and great content, keep it up my man and enjoy your journey, wish I was there
Great video thanks for such a travel treat
North Harbour you don't need to go in where the yachts are, there is plenty of water at low tide ahead of the ferry.
Barleycove one of the nicest beaches in Ireland.
Thanks!

Great video would love to see you go by the cliffs of Moore.
Yachts almost never anchor of Barleycove beach (at 8 mins) its really badly exposed to weather and it usually has a good swell for the surfers who use the beach. I keep my yacht in Crookhaven Harbour.
Barley cove was where you were anchored with the surfers.
Omg.. whatever life hands you, make the best of it..
Love your videos!
I want to visit England so a couple months ago I added London to my weather app. Omg...seriously, they're literally hasn't been a single day that I've seen that's only sun. I look at the 5 day forecast and every single day every single time is either cloudy or rainy. Poor souls of Great Britain!
