And figured out that there were more then 80.
That series was amazing. I was always amazed just how dark some of the stories actually got.

All of mine still sit on a shelf at my parent's house. XD They were frickin' great and probably part of the reason I graduated to the regular SF/F section by middle school. YA back then didn't land as hard when you read a series about teenagers getting disemboweled on a regular basis and dealing with the PTSD from that.

I too really enjoyed the book my favorite character got introduced ^_^ Ax is one of the most under appreciated aliens in fiction. I also really like book 13 though any of the books where the freed Hork-Bajir take a notable role will be high up there for me.

For the record, yes I read Animorphs. They were my favorite series growing up, and I made sure to get the new one when it came out as much as possible. I missed quite a few however, and gave my Mom a standing request to keep an eye out at any used bookstore or fleamarket/garage sale. Even now, easily more than 20 years since my collection began and I've since stopped reading them regularly, I'm missing maybe 2 or 3 out of a total of 64 books. I even watched the TV show after school.

i also did this
my first introduction to animorphs was actually a small fanfic, containing multitudes of childhood trauma, ptsd, racism (speciesism?), some particularly brutal cannibalism, genocide, and of course, war crimes.
i later learned that was just how animorphs is.

I read a bunch a few years ago- they had pretty good plot and characters, but could be kinda spooky

TrekkieGirl SuperNerd they were good, although they did occasionally have times off body horror and was a bit mature
I just remember the books were 1. One of the characters gets torched the whole time 2. Someone almost gets hit with a car after realizing how many they killed, 3. Cockroaches are gross and that’s one of their most common morphs
2:17 At one point, I got curious enough to read one of the Animorphs books in grad school, and they were actually really good. So I read a couple. After a couple of years, I decided to read one again for old times sake. When I did, I discovered that they were even better than I remembered, partially due to the fact that they got published by scholastic at all. Reading them as an adult makes you realize that those books are the child version of Attack on Titan. Both series have almost all of the same elements.

Man, that Animorphs section was a deep cut... I've read and used to own the entire series. I later sold it all as a stupid kid and I've been spending my off time trying to reacquire everything again.
So satisfying that when I clicked the thumbs up button it went from 4.9K to 5K. I am greatly pleased with this video for it twas amazing. Yay

I've been playing catch up on this series during a road trip with the family and I had to force myself to not burst out laughing at the end....
1:16 they also poisoned his wine, which also had no effect(other than intoxication). So they shot him. He then proceeded to shoot one of them. So they shot him another 4 times. They then put him in a body bag, which they threw into the lake. Guess what? He didn’t die of either poison, the 5 bullet holes, or drowning - the lake was so cold he died of hypothermia.
As someone who's read all fifty four animorph books. I thoroughly enjoyed ever single moment except one.
