Back to the Lake - (Sambar Deer, Trout and boating Lake Dartmouth)

- Years ago back in 2013 I shot my first Sambar hind in the bush off Lake Dartmouth and for years Ive meant to return. Finally I did with my mate Chris who generously brought his boat. Our good times were natural.

North east Victoria is beautiful. So lucky to have grown up in the kiewa valley. Dartmouth is incredible. Catching trout and hopping off your boat to Sambar. The good times really are natural mate.

As always great content, honesty and empathy with hunting. This channel got me back into wanting hunt. A long story and not for Know. May I ask how you deal with the leeches. I use snake gators, thick trousers and socks and they still get through. I have an allergy to bites and stings so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation David

The first place I ever truly hunted. Even bought a Kayak to make access a little easier. Hopefully will spend some of my November annual leave down here.

Honestly I don’t think the belly boat will serve you here. There’s a few select fishing locations in places like Tasmania where the lake might be better accessed, but we have vast distances here, dams/lakes and estuary’s are big places. I’ve never seen anyone in a belly.. but there’s thousands in Kayaks or small motor boats 🤙
