Great advice mate! Took my first Fallow deer about a month ago with my compound bow. Felt like I just got lucky but now I feel like I have a plan. Still so much to learn and so much meat to harvest.
You are a top bloke, imparting your knowledge to others is a great way to encourage others to enjoy the blessings in nature. I learnt to respect sambar so much more after watching this video. - Thanks
Excellent tutorial, some great advice for beginners. Thanks for sharing your own experience and knowledge. When that deer honked it caught me by surprise too, I'll now know what to listen for.
hi mate spent all night watching your videos, and I loved em!!! i have fed of your enthusiasm, energy, and your positive outlook on life. I havnt been chasing deer for years now but I'm So pumped up and keen to just get in the car and get lost in nature chasing these magnificent creatures around all over again! so thanks mate for making great videos and reminding us how lucky we are hear. "Good times are natural"
I've been keen to get out there and hunt some Sambar deer ever since i came across some beautiful ones on a trip to East Gippsland about 10 years ago. Has taken me a while, but i think i'm finally in a position to start doing some hunts soon. Many TY for your tips, I'm sure they'll help me be more successful, more quickly 🙂
Great to see how much pasion you have and how you share to help others to respectfuly harvest their food for those who want too. I loved the footage truly educational. Keep up the great work & keep the clips coming, great to watch.
Cheers mate it was a long time coming haven't been able to get out much because of personal reasons. Which made the success of this hunt all the more sweeter.
I have a few trips under my belt. I have spooked a lot of deer. Most of them within 20m. I’m yet to take one but thanks to videos like yours you keep me motivated! Thanks for sharing a few tips with rookies like me. Any help is good help 👍
Good video mate 👍👍 I was trying to find the video that can explain what type of deers we have in Australia and differences between them may be in next video you can explain with pictures or video would learn from you ❤️👍
Great video mate. So glad I run into you at Vulcan state forest last year. Didn't know who you were at that time, but saw right away you are outstanding bloke.
Great informative video Profty; I particularly enjoyed your intertwined clips from the field. Well done on the hind and your mates first stag. Cheers 👍
I haven’t been sambar hunting for a long time so this video has refreshed my mind in what I should do and look for so thanks for a great and informative video 👍🏻
This has helped a lot. Iv been trying to figure out what iv been doing wrong for a while, finding all the right stuff just can’t find the animal itself. Will give some of this a think over and a try on the weekend, thanks
Mate unreal. your a legend plenty of info to take away and try to put into practice. I have hunted ducks,Quail, rabbits, foxes, goats & pigs. Only started on deer for about a year still have not seen one lol. The lads I go with have success but not I. Again great vid mate.
I just enjoy the Adventure Only shot rabbits in 60s 70s No deer around where we lived at the time got travel far anyway aussie Videos hunting always a good scenic view🌄👍💯
New aussie bush harvest vid!!!! Fuck yeah, your such a legend mate. These videos are just soooo helpful for someone whos tring to get into self reliance as you say
Bugger me Mate this is a great vid but makes me so jealous and haven't seen so many deer. I used to stalk in the late 60's and early 70's through East of Jamieson. Bloody hard yakka with not much luck, no computers and comms with others just a map.Mmanaged to see a few but only one was a chance but not a clean shot and no shooting young stags and Hinds in those days. Your right that honk sounds great but can give you one hell of a fright at times. Love the fact that your sharing your knowledge back in the day it was all a big secret.
Another great video mate, love the way you've put this one together! I employ the same hunting tactics but your spot selection definitely puts mine to shame haha
they remind me a little like our North American Elk. If you ever get the chance you should come over to the states and I could take you all over western America and hunt some of our large game on some incredible public land hunts. Oh by the way ever do much archery hunting?
Hello from Arizona. Great video. I’m a hunter as well and i appreciate your passion for deer hunting. Doubt I’ll ever get to hunt Sambar but I enjoyed learning about the species and your approach to hunting them. What caliber of rifle do you use?
The honk certainly does scare the shit out if you not expecting it. One late avo I had a nap by river fishing and one come down opposite face to me winded me and HONK! Mate I almost done a back flip!
As someone getting into the sport this is another invaluable video for me, thanks mate!
"Amatuer sambar hunter", only shot 12 haha your not only a great hunter, also a comedian haha good on ya
