    Great advice mate! Took my first Fallow deer about a month ago with my compound bow. Felt like I just got lucky but now I feel like I have a plan. Still so much to learn and so much meat to harvest.

    Excellent tutorial, some great advice for beginners. Thanks for sharing your own experience and knowledge. When that deer honked it caught me by surprise too, I'll now know what to listen for.

    I've been keen to get out there and hunt some Sambar deer ever since i came across some beautiful ones on a trip to East Gippsland about 10 years ago. Has taken me a while, but i think i'm finally in a position to start doing some hunts soon. Many TY for your tips, I'm sure they'll help me be more successful, more quickly 🙂

      Cheers mate it was a long time coming haven't been able to get out much because of personal reasons. Which made the success of this hunt all the more sweeter.

    I have a few trips under my belt. I have spooked a lot of deer. Most of them within 20m. I’m yet to take one but thanks to videos like yours you keep me motivated! Thanks for sharing a few tips with rookies like me. Any help is good help 👍

    This has helped a lot. Iv been trying to figure out what iv been doing wrong for a while, finding all the right stuff just can’t find the animal itself. Will give some of this a think over and a try on the weekend, thanks

    Mate unreal. your a legend plenty of info to take away and try to put into practice. I have hunted ducks,Quail,rabbits,foxes,goats & pigs. Only started on deer for about a year still have not seen one lol. The lads I go with have success but not I. Again great vid mate.

    I regularly hunt sambar and I reckon snitzels are one of the best things you can make with the meat

    Bugger me Mate this is a great vid but makes me so jealous and haven't seen so many deer. I used to stalk in the late 60's and early 70's through East of Jamieson. Bloody hard yakka with not much luck, no computers and comms with others just a map.Mmanaged to see a few but only one was a chance but not a clean shot and no shooting young stags and Hinds in those days. Your right that honk sounds great but can give you one hell of a fright at times. Love the fact that your sharing your knowledge back in the day it was all a big secret.

    they remind me a little like our North American Elk. If you ever get the chance you should come over to the states and I could take you all over western America and hunt some of our large game on some incredible public land hunts. Oh by the way ever do much archery hunting?

    The honk certainly does scare the shit out if you not expecting it. One late avo I had a nap by river fishing and one come down opposite face to me winded me and HONK! Mate I almost done a back flip!
