If you turn the tape measure to where the writing (measurements) are toward the outside instead of the inside (curved side to the inside) the snap closure will be stronger to close and hold shut. Give it a try ❤
I never thought about using pieces of those metal measuring tapes for such a bag. TYSM for sharing this video with us. Am gonna give this pattern a try, someday soon. 👍😉😻❣️😍
What a creative use for an old tape measure! Why not do a French seam to enclose those raw edges? I might try that-it might be best to cut the fleece 1/2” shorter to minimize the bulk in the seams in that case tho. Hmmm. I’ll have to see if we have an old cheap tape measure laying around! I don’t usually do non-quilt projects, but might just have to try this one. Thank you.
No but you can easily make it smaller by reducing equally. The only measurement that would not change is the width of the pocket for the tape measure strips.

Really? I’ll try that next time 😉
I have made the smaller version before, can’t wait to try this larger one. Thanks Sheri! Have a great day!
Very clever! Love the fabric, too.
Hi Sheri, loved this tutorial...quick annd easy. ❤
Have a great day. Sending hugs.. Blue is looking great.. from quilt chat.
Thank you! You too!
Great idea will make some next year as got a quilt that I must finish as booked into be quilted early January.
You always come up with great ideas!
Your fabric is gorgeous!
I’ve made a bunch of these. Fun to make.
Could you do a French seam instead of leaving it raw edge on the inside?
You certainly can. Just add a little extra width to the fabric and tape measure pieces.
What a great idea! I know my husband has old worn out tape measures that never seem to get discarded.
Best one I’ve seen that’s so easy to understand. Thank you!😊
Glad it was helpful!
Super cute!

You absolutely could
Cute!
You could surge your fabric before adding the snaps.
Great tip!
I have been making these for years I even make them for everyone who wants one
Very cute! One question, what is the width of the tape measure?
5/8” is standard
Where do you get the tape measure pieces or do you cut your own
You cut your own.
❤❤❤
Where did you purchase that fabric from ? Love em both..
I believe it was called either graffiti or urban? Something like that. It came from Sew Yeah, but more than a year ago
Do you have smaller measurements?
