ive seen her dad cut stone backwards like that too. pretty funny they teach eachother the wrong way to cut. The spacing of the coping needs to keep in mind waste too. ive never seen a mason back butter coping
I love how Mike and Damon are teaching Sherry the right way to do this but most of all, just TEACHING her. No attitude about her being female; she's CREW and needs to learn. I do wish he'd open some kind of apprentice program to teach both men and women how to do construction, stonework, etc. the RIGHT way.
A question? If you rebuilt the blocks, why not add rebar to the holes and then backfill with concrete to help ensure they don't move int he future. Also, and I know this would take a bit more material but why not cut all three pieces of slat the same length so that you get a balanced look?
Time ...also if you are going fill the blocks and rebat you need a good footing to tie into so really wouldn't be the best option unless they were taking it out and starting from new and slate I think they had limited materials so they just did it the best way they could with the product they had
You can tell when producers ruin a show by trying to add drama and contrived tension. E.g., right off the bat, Damon was whining about the slate without listening to Carl. It was the same price, Damon; open your damn ears. Was Damon that dumb or did the producers just want some drama? Just fix the damn house.
Women shouldn't be working on site. Milke Holmes you do a quality quality Job every time. But each job much cost thousands. All the tradesmen and I in the uk love u and hate u at the same time. Keep up the good work

In the real world the vast majority of women are not cut out for this sort of work and that's been more than obvious to me over the years. They can paint and decorate and leave it at that.
This is so much more a teaching show than just building.
