First of all when people think of open world games they think of GTA no disrespect to Skyrim but Grand Theft Auto is the most well know and famous open world game ever. Second this is Ubisoft they are know for open world games like AC, Farcry, and Watchdogs and while you can customize in those game and sometimes pick genders. Most of the time your playing preset character.
Okay but let’s be honest, when you say GTA V. You mean GTA V, Online. The base game (while a piece of art absolutely) would have died out years ago. The online is the only thing alive in that game, and even then, GTA V online is a MMO, more then it is an open world RPG. It has open world elements and an open, world. But it is an MMO. And those have drastically different set ups then a single player RPG. As GTA V grasps for wallets MUCH more then outer worlds…. And every franchise you just mentioned, is one that’s been on the downfall since their last game. AC infinite’s announcement has not been received well. FarCry 6 was a failure, and Watch Dogs 3 came and went faster then that Hogwarts Legacy controversy. Ubisoft kinda needs to take bigger risks. Like having a customizable Character, cause clearly playing as there’s is not working. And a AC, where I can play as a customizable assassin…. That’s $$$ literally waiting to just be made.
