Bout to cook suppah and Totally agree with ya ..!!!!. My girlfriend said "oh yes, we wait with bated breath ... every thing gets put on hold when à new episode comes out!"
" Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears " I believe Norman's record is at 5:52, there is that little news paper posted on the top right you have to pause the video to read it.
Totally agree. The guy doesn't need to set stuff up or gloss it, this is his lifestyle and just how it is his; the skills he uses come across as everyday skills regularly used and lived in. So awesome.
Let's get this legend 500k subscribers! What an awesome dude. I'd pay good money to sit by a fire, have a beer and eat some fresh caught fish with this man. Cheers! Thank you for teaching us!
I have watched some international lumberjack contests on television. The newspaper cutting showing what Norman was like 'back in the day' is awesome. The slow-cooked, hot rock method produces more than I thought possible.
Hey there Greg.. I've seen a variation of the "slow cook rock" method before here in Maine during clam bakes. Try a smaller (shorter) pot. The taller pot allows the heat to radiate upward away from the food too quickly.
Greg I just want to say thank you. You keep me interested in bush crafting and life in general. All the money in the world can’t make you happy but living simple can. I have built many of your inventions and they absolutely work. I would love to be able to come and spend a week in the bush with you. Thank you agin.
Hey Greg... Just wanted to let you know that our family lost our big dog just over 6 yrs ago. He was a Chow/Golden retriever mix just over 120lbs. And we missed him sorely. And after seeing you get Fin, this past Father's day my wife got me a German Shepherd too. His name is Remington Remi for short and he's my God Send. Thanks for the vids and the inspiration. As a veteran it means a lot.
Hey Greg my buddy wishes to come camping with you he’s in a wheelchair and he’s from South Africa,He’s one of your biggest fans...I’m from Alberta and love all of your content!!!
Would like to visit with Norman again, it’s awesome you have friends like him, he’s one of a dying breed, I’m sure he could tell some great stories of years past. It’s great you are keeping up the woods life traditions. Great video.
Hi Greg! I usually watch your channel on my tv ( i'm not able to leave comments when I watch it that way) but I finally remembered to pull you up on my phone. I love your channel and always look forward to new uploads.
A humble man and a humble video, showing us some skills for preserving and cooking. Left us hanging on Normans unbeaten record lol, perhaps theat's the record😎. Anyway, this is the only channel on youtube that I have watched every single video, thank you Greg.
Beening in cananda for about 23 yrs.beening helped from canadian people number of times ,but, since i seen oven and norman sit together ,finally I know ,why I like it here cananda...just bucause of you ,numbers of you ,normal people, the nice pelple always peaceful and give hand to anthers.
When you live in an area like that, like I do, over time you tend not to appreciate what you have. It becomes background noise - it's there but you don't notice it. However, when watching your videos, I do notice and appreciate the beauty. So I'm going to have a cup of coffee on my deck this morning, at 9500 feet, and just soak in the sun rise and listen to the birds. I'll be thinking about my dog that recently passed as well.
The recipe for Asparagus is really simple and easy to follow! Thanks, I am definitely going to try that one for sure! Your friend Norman, that built his own log cabin is a very interesting and colorful guy!😀👍👍 I want a T-shirt, just like that! Social distancing!😃
Thank you Greg for producing a truly wonderful channel! I’ve been meaning to comment for a while, but I usually watch on my TV so I can’t write etc. I have learned so much from you, probably the best lesson though is what a genuine humble, creative and generous person looks and acts like, please keep up the excellent work, you are greatly appreciated!👽
heh buddy, we were in Canal Flats for a month picking morels. Looked for you but no luck. I did catch a nice brook trout and secret Dragon lake and yelled out "heh Greg Ovens look at this trout! but you didnt hear me...lol Such a beautiful town and area. maybe next time.
Another great video! Thanks for the recipe for pickled asparagus! And it was cool to feature Your friend Norman! Love ya Greg keep the videos coming we love you!
Thanks Dude! My Mongolian ancestors say "cool " . Keep posting!👍 Listen to the dog he can see things you can't see or hear. Merci to the "coureur de bois".💚💛🙂
Man I tell you what, it is absolutely beautiful there. Alot different than the hills of east Tennessee. Id love to spend a week in the Rocky Mnts. You are an awesome fellow & my family & I love watching your videos. Keep em' coming ol buddy. Thank you
I love your channel and I can tell that you are for real a true survivalist. I have been a subscriber for a couple of months and also follow Fowler and the Wooded Beardsmen. You inspire me to be outdoors more. Thanks for that. I have a kind of dream that you Chris and Zach come and do a hike and fish 15 day challenge in Montana with me. I am a Truck driver and have little down time nowadays but growing up in the Montana Rockies, fishing, hiking and hunting and any other excuse to be outdoors is the premise of my Channel. Keep up the good work. Man out!
@JohanOffline You could just say it's all innovative technology's fault. All technology isn't ' bad ' but in the grand scheme it definitely brought everything that we have now. It all makes living easy, and comfortable so most people especially in first world countries will not have the ' opportunities ' to learn the skills acquired like survival, hunting and gathering, architecture and construction, etc.
Another great video Greg! Love Norm. You should have him back on your show. He seems a really interesting person. Travel envy with your trip to Mongolia!
Its always great to see you have a video posted!! I noticed you have close to 500,000 subscribers now !!! Congratulations and well disurved !!! Thank you again for posting a great video !! Take care and stay safe my friend !!!
I tell all my friends about you and the wooded beardsman, and Mr Zachary Fowler, I hope I spilled every name right but I do everything by voice recognition I apologize again. I do think y'all for the love you pour into every video so rad. If I got to get stuck, not had to, but got to get stuck in the bush, I sure would hope that the three y'all were on my team
Thanks for your videos. It can't be easy to film everything and make these videos all the time. I'm learning that my self in starting my own channel. Do appreciate it. God bless you
Gregg yours and zachary Fowlers channel, takes care of all my survival needs. My life is fishing, has been for 34 years now, so the fact both you fish is an added bonus. I grew up in the utah mountains, I like doing everything alone like most combat veterans. But love the videos, they make me try new things.
This is one of the few channels that when I see a video drop, I say "Oh my God, yes" and watch immediately.
same
Bout to cook suppah and Totally agree with ya ..!!!!. My girlfriend said "oh yes, we wait with bated breath ... every thing gets put on hold when à new episode comes out!"
Such a sacrifice, no Wadobo, no coffee and cooking for hours on end. Thanks Greg!

Mr.Ovens you are the best, and thank you so much for letting us hear what Mr. Norman had to say.

Norman is someone I'd like to have a beer with around a camp fire

You're a neat guy Greg. Thanks for sharing what you know with us.
Hey there Greg..
I've seen a variation of the "slow cook rock" method before here in Maine during clam bakes. Try a smaller (shorter) pot. The taller pot allows the heat to radiate upward away from the food too quickly.
You know you're a bushman when, your g-string is actually a paracord belt
Man I’m glad you pointed that out because I was wondering if that was a thong or what he kind of blew my mind for a minute
Fowler picks on him for it on the 30 day survival challenge!
Lmao I came to the comments to see if anyone joked about it first glance I'm like thong, then I realized either a shoe string or p-cord lol
Greg I just want to say thank you. You keep me interested in bush crafting and life in general. All the money in the world can’t make you happy but living simple can. Man I bet a sliced onion in there would have been nice! Gonna try this Sunday with my fishing buddies! Thanks for the cool ideas!
He should have looked for some leaks.

Look's great brother, i plan on trying it.
I'm about to send you a belt Sir Ovens! Looks like a T-back with you wearing that string haha.

He won’t wear a belt, he likes having the rope for survival. He has mentioned it many times
Looks like G stings to me lol
