- Back to the bush for a turkey dinner, Greg rotisseries his bird over open flames, then buries and slow cooks it in a bushcraft rock oven.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Just one minute in the video and Greg already brought the tears to my eyes. That compassion felt so honest, alltough Greg knows nothing about my family he spoke right to my heart.
That really says something about this guy... since the start of Covid lockdowns I have never seen anybody just start a video by saying or looking at it as this man did.. He is a rare one for sure.

I've been cooking for 40 years and have never seen a more beautiful turkey than the you roasted Greg! The method of preparation was something I will have to try.

Loved this. I cook the same way, my wife said to stop putting her basting pan in the fire, so I bought her a new one!

I just started watching Greg’s videos about two weeks ago and I knew right off the bat he lives fir this stuff and he is very knowledgeable

Greg that turkey looks delicious...here in Fiji we cook on an earth oven using rocks the same way you did,but the rocks are placed on the ground and the food on top of it....can't wait to watch your next episode....i hope you make soup from those leftovers

Love your Social Distancing situation; turkey looks great! We usually prefer to just make chicken nowadays due to taste and cooking time. We always enjoyed cold turkey more than hot in sandwiches. Nothing can beat the combo of turkey, lettuce and tomatoes , mayo and mustard.

There's a lot of outdoor cooking videos out there, but what sets Greg apart from many is it's no frills proper cooking and use what you can kind of thing, not caring about perfection, I really like that.

This guy is so positive. It honestly makes me envyous of him and his awesome lifestyle! He is so kind in giving these great message's explaining on how bad he feels for people affected by COVID-19.
