- Today we're talking about the Nintendo DS game "Personal Trainer: Cooking", also known as "Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?" It's more of a cookbook than a game, and today we're going to be trying it out and exploring its weird history! Oh, and I chop an onion at the end!

When I was around 11, my parents bought me the DS version at 10:31 and I played the hell out of this game, not for the recipes or to even cook them but just to simply look at the recipes while at the same time listening to the amazing soundtrack.

The fact that you can get credits after completing 19 recipes makes me hope people will start speedrunning this game by cooking 19 meals as quickly as possible so the credits will play. The any% category would only require 19 recipes while completing 100% means cooking every single recipe in the game. I can't wait to see Cooking Guide at GDQ.
I actually have that DS that was bundled with the personal trainer series! I honestly love the thing.
Also have that DS, not sure where the game went but have the 5 jpn games now...
Oh man one of my most appreciated cakes comes from this game! I found it out when i got grounded when i was 15, and i got my computer taken away. It helped me a lot during a very hard period of my life, i have a lot of fond memories of trying some of the recipes and shouting "CONTINUE" at my DS because the damn thing would never understand me! Great video as always, i literally subscribed two days ago and binge watched all of your videos!

This game was what learned me to cook by myself. All the training in cooking I had beforehand was a dozen or so group cooking classes which I was too socially anxious to be any major participant in, but when this was released I started making delicious three meal dinners for my family during weekends. All because it was presented in a form I was used to and felt natural to use to me. I was 13, btw.

Now I want to see a speedrun of this game where the runner has to make every recipe in real time with video proof. Any% would be any recipe combination to get to the end credits, and 100% would be...very entertaining.

Maybe smoothen out the transitions between your face cam and the animations screen, as the microphones can clash sometimes. I think just segment them in sections? You don’t have to listen to me though, it might just be me.

I dead ass use a different version of this game to make new recipes, it’s helps me branch out of the whole chicken nugget era without being too stressing. Having to constantly reload a website, or look into a. Step by step instructions, voiced and put into more detail.

I actually had America's Test Kitchen! I believe I still have it somewhere. I'm surprised you didn't touch on the mini game while you were talking about how strange it was. It's like a... Game and watch style egg collecting game? It serves no purpose, and has no reason to be in the game, but it was a fun time waster.
