In the United States it is illegal for a dog to be off leash unless it is specifically stated, like at a dog park. Helpful for cyclists especially!

It helps until they are on 50 ft extending leads and you can't actually see the dog, or for that matter the lead until you are almost on top of it. Those can be deadly.

Everything's fine except the dogs off the leash. Besides being illegal, it's dangerous for us cyclists.
