I think SIGMA 10514 is a Corvette for today standards, no matters if DAMEN calls it "Frigate". I consider Juárez and Martadinata classes to be in the list. These corvettes are similar to Ada class and better than Brawnschweig class.
Same goes to Visby Class
Great video great fan of this channel from uk
Ships are just platforms. So a small corvette is as deadly as any other ship, depending on its armament. It can sunk submarines, ships or destroy planes.
Tuo chiang corvette would be another intersting addition, although you could argue at 560-732t it is more of a missile boat than a corvette.
But 12-16 anti ship missiles, 16 anti air missiles, phalanx ciws, aesa radar and 45kn top speed is very strong for that kind of ship.
It will serve well as fast patrol boats in PLA's costal guard.
@@anonymousc4tor0fgod59No. PLA Navy already has 80+ Type 022 which are more advanced than Tuo Chiang Class
@@anonymousc4tor0fgod59 The lafayette makes a better ship for the costal guard especially for long range patrol mission.
Nice a new vid
Some of these Corvettes are more heavily armed than most frigates. The Saar 6 is Israel's largest warship.
BAE built 99m khareef corvette for the omani navy is pretty good although it lack ASW capabilities.
*"Quantity is its own quality"*
It would be nice if you mention the number of corvetters made and planned...
The Visby class also has torpedoes.
The Barak-8 and C-Dome VLS cells are considerably smaller than Mk41, and the Israelis cut back alot on the stability/habitability margins of the K130, which is reasonable given it's expected area of operations. It's AESA radar is also fairly small as far as naval radars go, and doesn't need the giant cooling plant of a dedicated AAW array.
Very heavily armed for a corvette, but Russians have achieved similar weapons fraction before
Comparing the 2 UK carriers, with the 2 Indian carriers and the 2 Chinese carriers would be very interesting.
Defences, total airplanes, radars, amount of sailors, top-speed, etc etc.
There's no comparison. China is usas peer and builds the equivalent of UKs whole royal navy in just one year alone.
India vs uk would be a better comparison.
@@ex0duzz Difference is, the UK actually has experience making working and battletested carriers, the chinese don't.
@@ex0duzzbut the current aircraft carriers in service with plan are very comparable to the current indian and british aircraft carriers.
One might even argue china currently only has one really militarily usable aircraft carrier, since the liaoning is basically only used as a training ship
UK just has 2 carriers. It severely lacks ships around it for any serious operations. UK has only 6 destroyers & 10 frigates and no corvettes - China has around 40 modern destroyers (far more capable than UK's). 50+ frigates and 80+ Corvettes. You need 10 Royal navies to come up against PLA Navy.
@@usermk99 Uk's carriers lack just ships around it? lol. They dont even have fighter jets on them. The F-35Bs u see on youtube videos are borrowed from the Airforce squadrons, and have no Anti ship missiles equipped.
Very good video with decent information. Waiting for further videos.
Serious ... ? What video did you watch ? Trump is an insane knob.
What is your opinion on the Skjold class corvette?
Where did you find the information that the visby corvettes has 32 sea ceptor missiles?
It doesn't have sea ceptor at all mate it wouldn't be able to fit on the ship properly just stick to naval news channel
The Visby is going through a MLU where they will get the sea ceptor missiles, he also forgot to mention that one of its main tasks is ASW and has torpedos, sonars.
Braunschweig class is typical for German Navy: big and underarmed. The Gepard fast missile craft had the same punch but were much smaller, much mire agile and much faster. Braunschweig is mainly „useful“ to safe migrants in the mediterranean.
Buyan M is cool but why no Karakurt with has better seakeeping, radars and air defence? Tbh Karakurt should repalce Buyan in this list as it is a pretty much a direct upgrade.
In the era of cheap drones, the more and cheaper the better. There is still a place for ships, but you need a lot of them to survive and be any use.
ENI starts by saying 2400t is on the larger end of corvettes.
Meanwhile: INS Kamotra chilling with the size of a Frigate.😂😂
Kamorta is technically a Frigate platform, but with a weapon package of a Corvette. The ship is lightly armed to save cost and increase endurance. It has a range of 6500 kms which is pretty big for a "corvette" and can be part of the Battle groups to operate in the entire IOR.
Thanks . And love it ❤😊
Man...your entire comments section in this channel has sinophobia written all over it. Sad
@@accountantthe3394 I'm a women nit a man and I still hate China. It won't flip my mind !
SIGMA CLASS
yeah l actually bet that whoever designed the ship actually knew what they were doing
Great video as always. On a different subject could you do a comparison of aircraft carriers and capabilities. Personally I consider carriers with catapults to be true aircraft carriers as they can deploy a full range of aircraft types, attack, awacs AS etc. Ships such as the Royal Navy's Queen Elisabeth class "carriers' seem very limited to me. I would be interested to hear your(and subscribers) opinions.
What about the izumo class ships...capable of launching vertical take off planes?
The Karakurt y Mercury class corvettes are the most advanced in Russia, more than the Stereguschyi and the Buyan-m.
another new Ship that could be added to Modern Warships
You forgot about 8 anti ship missles on Steregushchiy
The Buyan class is definitely the best... the size of a fishing trailer or a Caribbean tourist boat and it has 8 anti-ship missiles!
no surprise, i mean i agree with the point in video
corvette ranking are hard to make as different navy has different need of corvette, different corvette are very different at all.
i am Chinese so i know type 056A for the most, the ship strangely equiped with less weapon but a luxury full sonar suite which are actually more expensive than the hull it self, because china near sea are actually in great dangerous of foreign submarine, pla found US Japan Australia Korean Vietnam and some of western submarines and even Soviet union ones very close to china coast line in the past 50 years, we know how Chinese coast line are easily be invaded by foreign subs, the 056a with a advanced full sonar suite is really what china actually need
很棒的讲解!有兴趣做一期关于苏联航母乌里扬诺夫斯克的视频吗?
Mad how the Visby class corvette has VLS and a moderate gun all at 650 tons compared to a 2000 ton river class OPV that at best has what? 20mm?
Just wanted to add. The VLS part probably isn't entirely accurate as they were originally cut due to budget constraints but are now planned to be added in the coming years. It's to my knowledge not been official if any hardware for the air defense missiles was kept or if they just left space for them for future refits.
@@wilmersandstrom2826 thx for telling me that but it still doesn’t affect my opinion for how shit river class opv is compared to the Visby
With that small radar Visby wouldn’t be able to serve at any other seas. Perfect for Sweden👏
Soo Bung tomo class guided missile corvette is not included?
It would be called F2000 class... i think they didnt inclued it on the list because the combat management system on that corvette is already obsolete
A joke, the command post of the South Korean navy is in Japan.😂
Clase Avante,Navantia,Spain??????????
You should've included Babur class...the Pakistani variant of Ada class corvette, which is...imo more capable than the Ada class itself. 16x more anti air missiles and better armaments and radars than Ada class.
Still a version of Ada, so no. They can not include subclasses, only independent class fully developed by a country. Then if the most powerful corvette has 10 more subclasses, all of them would top the list
Is it fully indigenously made by pakistan? Pakistan bought it from China. And this video only shows warships mostly made indigenously made by countries. Every warship in this video is indigenous. And you beggars and terrorists, what you produce? You only produce terrorists, drugs, beggars and radicalised people. You always think you are superior than anyone. You know World Bank has Indian chief, IMF has Indian CEO. It means you lick feet of Indians for money. And your RUclips channels praise Indians and insult their own country for money. Everyday, you send drugs in our country illegally. You know everything you eat comes from India? We give wheat to Middle East and you buy from them. You tried to buy from Russia, but what happened? Even the oil you use are refined by us. We can stop your water anytime we want. If you have nuclear weapons, then we also have weapons to destroy them before they even launch. Idiot.
Babur is a frigate.

Should the Visby be classified as corvettes? Seems more like a 21st Century PT boat.
It's a fair point. The dividing line between different hull classifications have been blurred for surface combatants. One general pattern apart from size is that corvettes tend to specialize in one role due to displacement limitations. From that perspective the Visby fulfills that purpose.
It's unbelievable that the Al Jubail Class corvette isn't there.
We waiting the Philippines Corvette made by S.Korea.. the HDC 3200tons..
Type 56A is better tan stereguchy and greymayashi? 😮 No way.
Braunschweig class looks super cool, like a battleship from WW in miniature.
As Indonesian, the acquisition of SIGMA Class was hyped as it said innitialy planned would be armed with Yakhont Anti Ship missile.
a Small Ship, but can punch above their weight - that seems to be the concept
According to Navy Chief of Staff, the dutch is said unable to complete Indonesian request.
some speculated that maybe such disatisfication with Dutch was the reason why Indonesia cut the initial procurement number from 8 to 4 for Diponegoro class (SIGMA 9113) and from 4 to 2 for Martadinata Class (SIGMA 10514). and The new Indonesian Frigate indicate it would be French- Lafayate Class
Terakhir kerjasama bikin kapal selam scorpane Prancis. Indonesia sekarang ambisius 😂

Saar 6 only has 16 Barak 8 vls cells
The Sa’ar 6 Class would rival and/or surpass nearly every frigate out there, to include the upcoming US Constellation-class FFG.
Horizon is a French and Italian air defense destroyer. I think you mean the Constellation class that is based on the hull of the FREMM class which is also a French/Italian joint project
@@alexdunphy3716 Yes, exactly, thanks.
Constellation has a much, much larger radar array and also packs longer range AAMs.
False
Am really interested in how long Ukraine's Ada corvettes can last after they are handed over by 🦃...😅
Nunca serán entregadas, el Bosforo está cerrado mientras dure la guerra, el fabricante se quedará con ellas y luego se las venderá a otro.
ADA Class
Ada class 👍👍
the Kamorta class iFuelCell2® powered 2,830 ton (3,309 ton loaded) multi mission guided missile corvette is set to be upgraded with a indigenous 30 MM CIWS based on the existing AK360 & modular SRAD missile system, similar to SeaRAM . . .
Visby has no anti-air missiles
U MISSED OUT RUSSIAN "KARAKURT" CLASS MISSILE CORVETTE!!!!
If it fire a zircon and s 350 defense and anti sub,,I take the Russian, corvettes,,lol
This video is actually genuinely underated and this is actually the actual real China that the actual American and British BBC propaganda mainstream media actually don't show you is actually really like and actually capable of actually doing
Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Norway are countries which could need Corvette, but everybody need "the warship": Destroyer or minimum Frigate.
As demonstrated by China a Corvette to light armed is a Patrol Vessell for Coast Guard.
It's hard to say if you need a Corvette or a FAC sometimes, but as soon as a Destroyer is on the scene they all become targets expecially if there are a fleet of Destroyers 😅.
Problem is always the same, money!!!
This problem do not exist when a country is lead by a dictator or you have it one on your front door...
Norway has one of the deadliest corvettes in the world
C6 corvette is still the best tho just saying
🤣🤣
Porsche Turbo S.

littoral warfare is largely centred around ASW . . . believe littoral warfare should be designated to a standalone fleet of small surface combatants & submarines that'll operate separately from the mainline fleet of the navy . . . mission profile patrolling of littoral waters & engage hostiles (if any) within a 112 mile radius . . . the fleet will comprise of guided missile fast attack crafts not exceeding 820 ton (loaded) & hybrid-electric powered semi-midget submarines displacing around 423 ton - 963 ton (loaded) or less . . . unmanned strike crafts & submersibles will be expendable . . . ASW & air defence near & within sovereign territorial waters in addition to anti-piracy, anti-narcotics operations & SAR etc . . . cost of littoral warfare operations has to be 80% less than that of mainline navy, including acquisition costs . . . for e.g. outsourcing crew/sailors from private but reliable HR entities . . . it's been said that unmanned guided missile fast attack crafts & unmanned surface craft will finally replace manned surface combatants in the littoral warfare spectrum atleast . . .
Sar 6 israel
日本のFFMが世界1だ。
The Israeli Sa'ar looks far more futuristic and perhaps tops the list for firepower and technology.
The Indian ship has the 1980's look and clearly is on the bottom of the list.
Visby and Buyan-M are each a class of their own. Not suitable for a comparison list.
Everything else is middle of the road. The German Braunschweig looks dated and perhaps 2nd to last place.
Wars arent fought with "looks". Lol
lol you Chinese never stop..
more obsolete junk
kamorta class from India is the best from this list.
it is s f it
Nah
it could be, but its not armed properly yet. its planned to be equipped with VLSRM SAMs, with which it can climb higher in the list by next year.
Haha😂😂
