As usual, this video was packed with information, however judging by some of the comments, some viewers failed to understand the importance of a shallow water navy, designed to operate in very shallow water. The relevance of such a navy is greatly enhanced by the quality of its missiles.
Those 100s of missile boats are lethal. Also Iran's huge inventory of land based Anti-ship missiles are dangerous for its adversaries.
nowonder the US navy only sails around them when theres no risk at all...the iranians say that they are only worried when the carriers are far away... ;) when they are nearby, things cant be that tense... :)

They carry what’s necessary for the marines to bend the knees on multiple occasions in Persian Gulf and have their boats etc… confiscated by the great IRGC forces.
People forget that it doesn't take an aircraft carrier to close the strait of hormuz. We have already seen thr US navy fail to handle the houthis who have no navy at all.
Or the Ukrainians who sunk most of the Russian black fleet and they have NO NAVY.
All the us navy is doing is doing is keeping the skies clear if missiles.....if the navy got the word to close the SoH....things would be a different story

I think Iran should learn from Ukraine and start investing in sea drone technologies. It seems to work well for Ukraine
Depends on what you think is "well"? The Houthis have drones, air and sea provided via Iran. they have had no impact versus naval targets and have yet to get near a US navy ship. (yes still a threat) The Use by Ukraine against Russia has been against naval targets in a port not in active combat. The ships have been anchored or docked. Those that were not ,were moored in a harbor. Many dont know it but Ukraine had a navy and it was lost early on. When drones were used against ships at sea they did not fair well. You also only see the successful ones, no way to tell how many times they tried but failed. Could be 5% effective? Point is they have not been attacking ships at sea or on active combat patrols. Its like shooting a bird on a branch versus one in flight.
@@TP-ie3hj If America were to attack Iran many ships would be docked somewhere. Also Ukraine has so far sunk or disabled 24 Russian ships and 1 submarine, that’s not bad at all. Iran should seriously invest in some of that stuff in case America ever want to pull another “Iraqi Freedom” you know?

@@TP-ie3hj Houthis never seriously attempted to sink any ship, military or commercial. They made token attempts, launching missiles (not the best they have) to raise shipping costs.

I read somewhere a few years back that Iran is the only country in the world that has 2 different Arm forces meaning: 2 Army's, 2 Air forces and 2 Navy's, one is run by the actual military and the other by the Islamic revolutionary guard, that in itself makes them extremely hard to defeat.

But in total the iranian navy is, except the Kilo class submarines, absolete. None of the frigates and "DESTROYERS" have a decent Air-to-surface capability which makes them vulnerable.

Speed boats are a dubious concept in war because, for example, the US Hellfires or Mavericks are more than enough to kill each of them. It is rather interesting how Iranians manage to achieve the long life of the former Shah's ships and aircraft if they are under severe sanctions.
Taregh class speedboat: $200,000 each.
Hellfire missiles: $170,000 each.
They are not that different. If you miss even once, or used 2 missiles on one boat, or the boat sinks in harbour and the repair it, you've fallen behind.
