Thanks for your great info and insights Dave! I just bought the DJI Mic 2 transmitter (3500 baht transmitter only without receiver) that has Bluetooth to connect to the Ace Pro. It has lapel mic clip but also comes with a strong magnet to mount to something metallic. I want the mic on the camera not lapel so I mounted the magnet to the steel Insta 360 quick release which is a tight fit to get the magnet to but provides enough contact so it is still a pretty strong attachment for just walking around. Plus with Bluetooth no need to use the mic adapter and removing the USB door (big pain IMHO). Haven't had much time to try it to comment on audio quality but seems like a decent quality mic.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The DJI Mic 2 is not compatible ( will not pair) with the Ace Pro at the moment, hopefully it will be in a future firmware update!
Thanks for this - I didn't realise that you had to have the insta quick release as well (I've ordered a generic one - so don't know if that would work). However, having seen this I don't see the point of getting the cold shoe now as it will be such a faff - and the thing that gets me is that you can't then use the bottom screw hole with it on, or get to the battery! Thank you you have saved me a bit of dosh and lots of swearing!
Glad the video was of use. I have several generic quick-release mounts for my Ace Pro, as I have several different tripods and selfie sticks to mount it on. The best is VRIG which is available on eBay.
I have ordered the PULUZ Magnetic Quick Release Base Mount from China. £12.99 (16 .4 USD) from ebay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256454586333 And the Hepal protective cage. The cage has a side and top coldshoe mount, however, this is primarily for protection along with screen protectors and the UV lens. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296251566435
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout Awesome review! Weill the cage and cold shoe you have ordered allow you to use the mic adapter with it? I was wondering if the cage would get in the way?
@@geekiejesus8482 The cage is open on the opposite side to allow attaching and removing the mic adapter. Cage is still on route from China be I will review it and the new mic set up when it arrives. All the best, Dave.

You just saved me some money, thank you! The design of the cold shoe mount is just dumb (and overpriced!).
