Commentator: she’s making some mistakes
Me: she’s still alive at the end of the course. How is anything a mistake?
I think the same 😅
you have to be truly fearless for this sport.
Yep,especially speeding down head first.
Yeah, I thought riding a prey animal at speed over jumps was petrifying but this is 100x worse 🤣🤣
Yep, I would have been straight down terrified doing this. I probably would have been sick for a week after this.
A luge practitioner told me once that skeleton is the most stable of the 3 sledges, and that you never flip over, fall or fly in the air with it. Bobsleigh, where you are far more protected tends to flip over far more easily, and luge is probably the most dangerous since you are not protected at all and the sledge tends to fly at any mistake made.
You gotta trust the guy who built the track.
it's called skeleton because that's all that's left of you at the finish
Now this is a real sport! Everything I can ask for; obscure, no sponsor backing, no fan support, no notoriety , nobody cares, all to race 4 runs, once every 4 years, to risk your life for absolutely no money & if you are lucky, a gold plated piece of lead. 🥇🛷🛷
That's what we call passion, kids!
olympic medals are not plated right? that's actual gold, silver and bronze
@@1ma4ighter gold medals are in silver plated in gold. I know I am down such a rabbit holed during the pandemic lockdown.
And 2 plucky brits on the podium!
Obscure ?? No. It's in the Olympics. No Sponsorship ?? Look Again. No fans ??? The people watching in person are fake ?? This video has been viewed over 500,000 times. No notoriety ??? Since when is that a requirement ??? No body cares ??? Again watch the video. How (deleted expletive) are you ???
4:32 This was so sweet! I couldn't stop smiling watching how enthusiastic and happy all her supporters were. Well done Simidele Adeagbo!
there wasn't a need for the negativity from the commentator
7:15 Japan just drifted what a coincidence
Tokyo drift
*eurobeat intensifies*
im dying stfuuu
It felt like Deja vu

I love how happy the male announcer is for all of them. He was great!
30:38 That hyping up ritual, I love it
Glad to see no broom or debris on the track that could affect the contestants.
Shhh, I'm the one who left the broom on the track! My co-worker dared me too.
Easiest 100 bucks ever!
wdym?
@@gsl4295 Only the chosen ones by RUclips's algorithm can understand 😏
I wish it was rocks or sum on the slide no cap
Hahaha
Adeagbo and Oguchi didn't deserve his comments. They're in the freaking Olympics, you're winning just by being there
Agreed. The commentators, I've realized, are just pure nonsense.
They said she's only been doing it for 4 months. How many other sports do you think you can do for 4 months and then go to the olympics in?
4:39 is where racing starts.
This is legit the most dangerous sport in the entirety of the Olympics.
Your bones don't break, they shatter. Just a fact.s
No it’s not, it might be the sport where the stakes are the highest should something go wrong, but I’m sure things like boxing have s much higher fatality risk.
I love this sport! Incredible!
That looks like so much fun
This MUST be the most dangerous sport ever. 140 km/h, head first down on a hill with two swords under you. Shoulders bouncing everytime. They should at least use some neck protection, like F1 pilots...
Luge is worse because you can see less of where you are going hence the deaths while skeleton has 0
I present you Isle of Man TT. Death rate is over well over 1/race.
Ha ha "pilots" that's cute!
ROTFL, Why stop there? Let's call them F1 astronauts! 🤣🤣😂😂
@@atomknight8361 and higher speeds...
BUT the gayest sport is that 2 man luge...jeesus that's awkward.
Well it can't be that dangerous if woman are doing it. It's not Bull riding...
Thank you! Could we also get 2014's Women's Skeleton too, please?
Wow the first lady was 36? Crazy intense sports at that age, that's awesome
thank you for upload :) but i hope that you could upload it with medal ceremony as well
One of the scariest Olympic events
Curling is the scariest.
@@kunkka5491 Curling is badass bro
@@oerlikon20mm29 Exactly, so risky. 😁😂
Excellent. Many thanks.
I've loved this sport for a long time. Really wish I lived near a track
I believe there are only 15 tracks in the world and all in the Northern Hemisphere…
@@chrismuller6563 there’s in my state I just have the time it money to travel to it often
At least in luge you can use your legs as a crash buffer, skeleton looks unreal, though I guess at that sort of speed it doesn’t make much difference.
Thank you!
Fascinating. Cannot wait.
Awesome race
Imagine a Guy that Wanted to be a penguin years ago,and now it's an Olympic sport
Que diferencia a la actuales olimpiadas sin la gente y sin ese animo que el publico transmite.
This sport Rocks!
I would leave a brown trace behind me...these girls are awesome
Super zjazdy pozdrawiam...
Skeleton is always attractive.
Wait a minute...
The official Olympic channel likes this comment lol no other comments do they like.. only this one

Please, upload full video from Women's Skeleton cometition in Beijing 2022!!! :)
TODAY I LEARNED: luge and skeleton are 2 totally different events
I love this position ❤️ feels great

Wow fast!!!
Bouncy ride ;)
Men’s Skeleton plz
what is wind speed mean?
i felt pretty bad for the lady that came 4th
Watch out for up and coming skeletoner Sabrina Carpenter Linton Jones from the UK, major talent 🔥🚀💨
Headfirst at nearly 80 mph. Sheesh!
watching first time
5:10 there wasn't a need for the negativity from the commentator. anyone who's doing something for the first time isn't going to be as good. rather focus on all of the positives of making it all the way to the Olympics
That's just stupid

@@jordanmntungwa3311 I wasn't asking either

If only I was 50 years younger….lol!
cites I think should host Summer or Winter Olympics
Tokyo 2020 (2021) Summer
Beijing 2022 Winter
Paris 2024 Summer
Italy 2026 Winter
Los Angeles 2028 Summer
Calgary 2030 Winter
Toronto 2032 Summer
Moscow 2034 Winter
Minneapolis 2036 Summer
I would pick Los Angeles 2028 summer
I’ve always wanted to see Las Vegas. Idk why but I’ve always wanted to
Jakarta 2032
Ok USGAY?
I think Sapporo will get 2030 winter games. 2032 summer games will take place in Australia for sure. 2034 winter will arrive in the Salt Lake City, US. 2036 summer Olympics maybe in Germany. Those were my bets.
If I had to pick one Olympic sport to do…..even though it looks obviously terrifying. 🎉🎉🎉 still 🤍 it the most x
Do men's skeleton and luge finals next.
This is sport that seem everyone can do it..
What is the max speed that an athlete can reach in this discipline?
140 ish
I've got to say skeleton is luge forwards and luge is skeleton backwards.
26:16 if u get to slap this pawg
I cant think if she out of way
where da broom at?
Wibble wobble wibble wobble jelly on a plate 🎉
From brazil
Apart from the helmet what other protective gear do these athletes wear?
Kevlar patches on elbows and knees. Some people wear mouth guards and back protectors too.
one thing for sure this sport is not for the faint hearted one wrong move and you can break yourself
WHY IS THIS A SPORT
I wanna do this
I do it at our hill nearby home :) like skeleton witg the face front position
2:59
Where does she practice skeleton in South Africa?
mighty latvia
12:10

Me being the dare devil that I am wants to try this
feel bad for janine flock
место поклона, можно просто упасть, а я так не умею
This is scary AF
How do they steer?
Shoulders i think
Their feet/toes, they scrape them on the ice
@@Thomashorsman oh guess i was wrong then, it just seemed fairly imprecise comparitively.
@@krumbes7706 I’m pretty sure you’re both right I think they use body weight with their head shoulders and hips to initiate turns and also use their toes on the ice to turn as well. It seemed like if you’re using your toes a lot you’re kind of in trouble time wise as it slows you down but can make big corrections.
A slight tip of the head, pressure on side support. Worst case - touch a toe to the ice to stabilise.
最高に抜けるスポーツ
my life in a nutshell.
Oh, so it's bobsled except your whole body is the sled. Nice
Here for the fearless jiggling.. thank you
15:23 did that girl just posed for a pic with the skeleton behind her? That could be a cool pic
From 1st place to no medal what a fall.....
how do you even practice this sport?
At an ice track. I do about 50-60 rides a season.
Holysh*t😯
How does someone who hasn't had "many runs" down a track end up making it to the Olympics?
No one else is dumb enough to do it haha
Where is men's skeleton?
