- Today, i'll be taking you through some of Los Angeles' most famous hoods and ghettos - but it's a rainy day, so we'll be staying dry in the car. Buckle up as we navigate through the iconic streets of Compton, Watts, Inglewood, and Crenshaw. Along the way, we'll make special stops, including paying tribute to Nipsey Hussle at his mural in front of the Marathon Store on Slauson and visiting Kendrick Lamar's childhood home in Compton. The gang banging has moved to mainly drug dealing on major streets or certain parts of town. The days of roaming gangs in the neighborhood are gone. A lot of the "beef" happens online.
Is it correct to say that a lot of those residential streets around Crenshaw and Slawson looked just as nice back in the 90s when the majority of the banging was going on there? Ive always seen and heard that the people in those neighborhoods always took a lot of pride in their homes as far as keeping nice yards and general upkeep, more so than in neighborhoods with that kind of activity in other places.

Back in the late 70's, I was attending USC and living nearby the University off campus. One day I wandered into Watts because I liked to shop at thrift stores and a cop stopped me on the street telling me I shouldn''t be down there.
