You know how you were talking about the immortal humans being bullies and declaring war on crippled humans? The crippled humans completely took them over instantly.
I love how when the imortal humans declared war on the crippled humans he said that doesn't seem fair they live forever and they are attacking cripples yet it looked like the cripples wiped out the imortal humans. Never doubt a crippled human
It is funny how the Energized Orcs got enough population to not only turn their whole island into lava but also spread the lava all around them effectively becoming a lava bomb
If you do something like this, when there's empty space, eventually put in a kind of super holy grail island where it's filled with resources and has a bunch of land to expand into, but nobody starts out there. So they'd all be fighting to colonize this one island. Also: I'd love it if you occasionally checked the traits of individual people, so we can see what traits have fused.
A cornucopia if you will, The district tributes love to fight at the cornucopia. Maybe add some poison wild berries along the tree line, what’s the worst that can happen?
Funny how in the late game it came down to the classic tropes of peaceful humans and greedy orcs, with dwarves isolating themselves far away. And the elves really did sail west…
What I think the Greedy Orcs were doing by having a few people on each island was denying them to the Peaceful Humans, as if the Peaceful Humans, tried to land with settlers, they would *not* bring an army with them, meaning that a small garrison of Greedy Orcs could easily defeat the settlers. Compounding this was the Peaceful trait, as it made the Peaceful Humans instinctively not want to clear the Greedy Orcs off each island. This was the primary reason why the Peaceful Humans fell, as their society's strength was based upon the nation's ownership of many islands. Furthermore, supply and defence of the islands relied upon control of the waters between the islands, which they lost due to both the Greedy Orcs' massively superior navy, and the garrisons of Greedy Orcs on each island which, using their bows, could seriously damage, or potentially even destroy, the Peaceful Humans' ships before they reached their destinations. Additionally, the Greedy Orcs' home defence strategy was masterful, as they had a "Fortress Island" mentality, which combined the islands' natural isolation with a strict policy of deterrence of any foreign settlement on any of the neighbouring islands, and the defence was finalised by there being a "Home Guard" fleet always shuttling between the home islands, thereby providing a last level of defence against foreign landings. These Greedy Orcs showed a truly amazing level of military strategy, and for that they deserved the win imo.
if you ever do something like this, a few moments around the halfway mark where you take a look at the people in some of the bigger kingdoms to see what traits they have might be nice. it'd give us a direct lineage to see what kingdoms were taken over and assimilated into them. Those Greedy Orcs might have also had bloodlust and tough and other traits that helped them out for example.
@@jinx_76 True but it's funnier to say they couldn't stand each other and didn't want to make more people because they already didn't like the idea of more people you're probably gonna hate. xD

If there were any closer to greedy races, I wonder if the greedy trait makes them go after the golden tooth races.
The issue with this scenario is that for whatever reason, they refused to colonize islands. From what I could tell, only when they had their last territory "captured" did the people on "other" islands claim new territory. Take the greedy Orcs for example, they ended the game with 8 plots. This is relevant, becuase, they only had 6 for the majority of the game. They were completely surrounded by perfectly vacant islands, however they did not build on them. My guess is the size of the islands was too small and the AI ignored expansion. I don't think I saw a single faction directly claim a new island, without having lost their "last claimed island."
its weird because if you could see loads of white little dots moving around on all the islands which means there were actually greedy orcs on almost half of all the islands but they didn't colonise them for some reason?
@@SecureBirch410 exactly. Due to the small size of the islands, they were unable to build a new colony there for some reason. Basically making it sudden death, vs, conquest.
The real best trait is having AI that decides to actually expand. So many traits basically don't matter because of it. Doesn't matter how fast you build houses or how fast you repopulate because you will always see them cap long before they actually expand in most occasions. Same with immortal not actually mattering because everyone else sits at the pop limit anyway.
Immortal+Energized would be interesting, it might be good for invasions of such a small island, because it will nuke half the island, so grouping them guys in a big force doesn't get taken out by a arrow snipe. They would probs still lose if its on the homefront. 4 race Immortal-energized would be a fun short video.

I think it might be interesting if you did something of a smart vs. strong vs. healthy vs. lucky version of this. Basically instead of one trait per each island you do slightly bigger islands and give them a number of them. For example healthy is: Immortal, regeneration, healing aura. Obviously there are more categories and potential combinations but it might be interesting to see it play out. Turns energized into an incredibly increasing competitor if they get lightning and fire immunity added under their belt. I think the 4 races thing is also a step in the right direction since it means trait combinations can be entirely removed from a race. Also consider as people said, preparing one island with more advanced resources, and potentially dangerous competition to keep cultures from being able to push into it too early. I'm thinking making it cursed land might do the trick, since it'll act as a potential game changer if a leader decides to attack it for resources, and loses their army in the process.
