    The desert scene if you turn it upside down with the dark on the top is a sunset over cliffs and ocean. The blooming stone and some others that you showed screamed universe and galaxies to me. Not the labradorite, that was all flash like Northern Lights. I have never seen them in person though, I am a Northern California girl and haven’t traveled enough! Love to see you make these crystals and stones into jewelry, but I know what you mean, I have pieces I have kept for many decades just to play with!, Sue🐝

    For me it would be very good to see a video about gemstones. The different gemstones, their names, their characteristics, ...
    I'm thinking about to start with wire wrapping. It's so very beautiful what you can do, and the beauty of the stones, ... a short time ago i have found videos in youtube about wire wrapping and i can watch the videos over and over again. For me it would be helpful to know more about gemstones. My english is bad but i hope you can understand what i wrote.

    A wonderful video as always thank you. But I don't understand why you are talking about using this here and that there when I'm going to steal the lot and hoard them... Oh OK so I'm not, but I might try... They are a great gathering of rich samples and I can't see how you could bear to part with them, one at a time or as part of a collection sold to a rich potentate... how could you split them from their friends? Yes alright I would love an in depth look at them with information on how to treat them, yes, I need to learn more. I've been looking at what I would need equipment wise to set some cz's in tube mounts, a slow start to a complex and fascinating part of our craft.
    Have you watched Scaffoal here on you tube? Wow an absolute wonderful, skilled jeweller who shows us how with nothing hidden but the number of years he worked to get that good...
    So take care dear lady and another fine video soon please...

    Great video! If you want to create a scène that matches the gems but you’re afraid the pendant will become to large, you might consider to create that scène in the necklace that is holding the gemstone pendant? Just an idea 😄 I’m very curious what you are going to make with all of these.

    I am super jealous! What a lovely collection. How long has it taken you to build your collection? I am in the process of buying stones, but sometimes I get so overwhelmed with deciding what to buy and what sizes to get. I think I'll just have to start small and build slowly.

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  5 лет назад

      hahaha, did I get you stone envy? :D yasss hahaha 😍 Just kidding, that wasn't my agenda, at all! :)) How long it's taken? I guess since the day I've started, I was purchasing some gems here and there....But I was also using the ones I had along the way, and then buying new ones. My current collection consists of stones I mostly purchased across, maybe, last year and a half? But definitely a year. I agree, start small and build slowly, it's the best way! And you won't feel overwhelmed either. Will be easier to focus on projects, having specific stones for it (and helps save money!) :))

I was wondering is there a place I could buy gold or silver rings, bracelets or earrings that are without a stones and then put the stones ? Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Hiya Lady Stardust. I was just watching a video on Arizona & remembered the piece on this vid that looks like desert. Have you used it yet? I would love it made into a neckless for me about 20 inches. It may be as near to Arizona as I get, so...

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  5 лет назад

      I'm always writing the prices down, and keep them with stones, in my notebook and I also have invoices for references. You could also create a simple spreadsheet, where you would input the name of the stone, where you bought it and the price. This log will give you a clear view :) Hope that helps!

    hiya flower giving your age away as well as still making your own tea i don't know, the thing about gemstones is there so fascinating i have far to meny my self i don't think i will ever use them all, i don't now make as much jewellery as i used to as rising prices in silver are getting a bit on the steep side, take care flower keep the videos coming there spot on and STOP MAKING YOUR OWN TEA.

I'm a tea drinker, nothing will change that 😄😄😄 I'm happy you've liked my video, more is coming soon!
