Hell yeah, HZD lore, hope more people get into this great game by watching this video.
I got it with my PS4 and I found it an utter delight. I hope to see more of it.
I would, if only it were on PC :'(
Ashame it’s exclusive
+the Modern Communist Feminazi
NOT an RPG though. While dialogue system that recognizes that player already completed the task is impressive for people without any previous projects like this, especially for a voiced game, there is NO branching. At all. My 3 little emotions during answers don't matter at all. They need to decide whom they want to be before next game. Go into real RPG genre or stay as action adventure.
What's the game called? I really enjoy the lore in the video.
Also, what type of game is it? RTS, Adventure, RPG?
Wow, sounds like a pretty interesting mix of Aztec, Roman, and Byzantine.
TheBonesters technically Roman and Byzantine are the same thing. The Byzantines called themselves Romans. While their culture changed over the centuries, so did the cultures of every other empire. If I remember correctly, It wasn't until years after the fall of Constantinople that people began referring to the eastern Roman empire as Byzantine, as a way to differentiate the classical one from the more "modern" half. Might want to double check that though, I could be remembering wrong
Your right. I still mention them separately because some of the aspects are focus on the early Roman Empire, while others are much more towards the fall of Constantinople (and because people are more familiar with them being named separately). More specifically, the mass persecutions loosely mirroring the persecution of Christians, and the Oseram Freebooters loosely mirroring the Varangian Guard.
It is still amazing that the Roman Empire lasted for nearly 2,000 years, and only fell in 1453. It also makes the Holy Roman Empire look a little odd, given that the Roman Empire was still around during the first half of its existence.
TheBonesters the Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an empire, lol
TheBonesters
It's actually funny reading texts from that period. The Eastern Roman Empire was not happy with the Holy Roman Empire calling themselves Roman, and the HRE never acknowledged the Eastern Roman Empire as Roman(they tended to use "Greek" instead, and in a derogatory way). Even during "peaceful" times between both, their diplomats and representatives had a very, sassy attitude.
Reminds me a little of Taiwan and China (aka, The People's Republic of China, and The Republic of China), and how they refuse to acknowledge each other's preferred title when exchanging dialogue.
With dashes of Persian elements in terms of their naming system
Praise the Sun!
In all things, we accept the Sun's judgment.
We offer our bared skin to it so it might burn our sins away. We partake of its renewal, we wear its heat for a time;
As our skin bears its flush, its bronzed armor, we are made strong;
In the cracking and peeling away of our old selves, we are made new.

Why did I read hearing Escanor's voice!?
Unpraise the Pagans. [deadpan]
@@TemplinInstitute *No, Scrap the Primitives. I want to see some of HZD's modern version of 'us' here.* Civilian, Military, 'ancient modern' weapons and superweapons being used, *Faro tech...* [grumbles at the name] , status of Gaia's activity after and during the Centuries of Earth's....'repopulation' stage, etc.
You can know much about the primitive sides of HZD's current timeline, but the modern version of 'us' there would've been more better to explore.
Fix it up next time.
Please do more Horizon: Zero Dawn lore. This was amazing! It makes me want to play the game again just to experience that awesome story again.
I hope you'll cover more content from *Horizon: Zero Dawn* and its world. It's so richly realized and has so many interesting places and ideas to explore.
Haven’t played the game yet but this was great.
its a masterpiece, dont forget to buy the dlc too
A must play if you have a ps4
Trust me, its on the pile. Along with a host of other top tier games.
One of the best games I've played in the last couple of years. The world is a brilliant and creative mix of fantasy and scifi, the different people make it really feel stuffed with Information and History of this new universe and Aloy is one hell of a protagonist
Man I loved this game. It surprised me how good its story and lore was. Pre-Avad Carja remind me of the Aztec Empire.
Please do a video for the tribes of Horizon Zero Dawn.
Nora, Banuk, Oseram etc. I love this game.
*"For the Sun, and the Sun alone, in its might and benevolence over his followers, shall guide our path."*
I'm so glad this exists! I think the Carja Sundom is one of the most interesting handlings of sun worship, combining classic tropes in a really new and interesting way. Plus, "Sundom" is the coolest name for a government.
TURN YOUR FACE TO THE SUN, CHILD!
It is a nice way to say theocratic monarchy.
I knew HZD is a beutiful game with interesting mechanics, but i had no clue that it is so pretty and has such deep lore. The animations are just so beautiful. If only it were available on PC
:'(
if only they had stopped for a minute and thought what they're doing instead of leaving glaring plotholes in world building and story. When the game is bad, you won't notice such things, but when the game is actually good... UGH!
so it's still a good game?
Are you asking good or as good as internet articles and hype make it out to be ie best ever and first in all regards?:\
Yep, it's actually good. However they need to decide whom they want to be before next game - RPG or just action-adventure? I liked the fact that if you've already completed the task you can just give it in and dialogue already aknowledges it, BUT it's still linear. The game lacks replayability it could have gotten this way.
Plus story and world building mistakes i've already mentioned and some gameplay changes needed, especially with enemies and their AI. The game was out to a brilliant start, but due to it's overblown reception that followed, I'm hesistant to even speak of it favourably now. It's definetly not a classic yet and still needs to make a good part of the path to become one.
What plotholes are you talking about? I don't remember any, so at the very least they aren't as glaring as you say.
+Thinking
1)HADES not being lobotomized by MINERVA aka owner of the Spire and the subroutine that specialises in hacking and decryption when he gets in range, not to mention gets to the Spire itself;
2)GAIA not being able to finish the program of APOLLO despite having all the knowledge about natural sciences(otherwise she wouldn't be able to finish terraforming duties). She can't teach them history, but everything else is hardcoded into her and ALL of her subroutines. But devs needed tribals for the setting...
Still having memory problems?

Gears of war
Please do a video for the tribes of Horizon Zero Dawn.
Nora, Banuk, Oseram etc. I love this game.
hello Templin institute i love your presentation but can you do the three more f
horizon zero dawn factions like the Nora, Oseram and the Banuk. can you guys do those presentation plz!!!
Yes! I adored HZD, and its so nice to have a condensed history of the Carja
"Between the Savage East and the Forbidden West..."
Horizon: Savage East
Horizon: Savage East is just the first half of HZD
Honestly all I got from this was SUN,SUN,SUN,SUN,SUN.
Man it still amazes me just how cool and deep the lore is in Horizon, awesome job as usual guys.
Great video! I’m am literally on one of the last two missions before finishing this game. Great story. Again, great video!
Incredible quality as always! Well done!
Could you do A video about The Oder of the Sith & the INGSOC party from George Orwell's novel 1984 please!?
The NCR from fallout
Done already
Do the Fire Nation! From the Legend of Aang!

Do the Fire Nation! From the Legend of Aang!
Its Avatar: The Last Airbender you uncultured swine
I absolutely adore the world and the lore of HZD. I hope to be playing games in this world for many years to come.
Love the videos keep it up!
Loved it, thanks to you all!!!
When I first entered the Sundom and gazed over the Carja's beautiful lands and their most glorious city, I stood there in awe. When I heard the score laying itself gently over the streets of Meridian, I felt everything the world had lost and all it's gained with that deep in my heart. This world, this game touched me like nothing else in the medium, even more than Ocarina of Time did almost twenty years ago. It is a master piece. And Guerrilla Games is truly a master in its craft.
Oh, and #niloy
What is #niloy ?
@@black-op345gaming5 Late. A ship in the fandom.
a very good addition to the series
“☀️PRAISE SOL INVICTVS ☀️”-Emperor Aurelian
I was not aware of this game.
An interesting story.
Always interested in world-building of this quality. It raises many questions wanting to investigate.
*Malevolence smile*
Look to the Sun.
Avad was a cool dude, I really got the feeling that he wanted the best for his people and wasn't too proud to ask for outside help. He even takes being shot down by Aloy really well, and I get the vibe they'd definitely be pretty good friends. GOD I can't wait for forbidden west... I need a ps5...
The Artwork is soooo good
Amazing story telling... keep up the good work
HZD is amazing, tons of material for videos about the other tribes too
You guys rock!
Also could you do a video about Chaos? from Warhammer 40k or Warhammer fantasy.
I mean, they are tackling ‘organizations’...
Great video very informative
holy hell i actually thought you should do this when i first saw this channel
Aldmeri dominion from elder scrolls pleases
Id be happy if they did both but mainly the third Dominion from Skyrim
Or the Empire of Tamriel
Pointy-eared Hitlers
I might actually purchase the game now
I'm getting this game and a ps5 for Christmas! Looks gorgeous!
Want to hear a Joke
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
A robot.
Oh, shit.
holy hell i actually thought you should do this when i first saw thus channel
A video on the Sith and/or a dossier on Darth Malgus would be pretty cool
Hey guys great videos! You sould also do sone on the factions from the starpoint Gemini series. I think it could be very interesting.
A small detail to keep in mind, the people who drove the Carja out of their homelands in the East were actually apart of Aramans tribe. The split happened when he found ancient knowledge within the metal world.
The tribe that Araman was apart of, & the tribe which shunned the metal world was in fact the Nora.
This means the Carja & Nora are both related
you mean all tribes are related as all of them originated from Eluthia-9, atleast the ones we see in HZD due to the fact that the Cradles were placed pretty far apart so essentially Oseram, Nora, Carja and Banuk are all likely relate probably even the Utaru. The Tenakth are the only ones who seem like they are unrelated
Yes exactly.
@@MaxC_1 the Carjas founding myth originates from Nora territory, I did not find any evidence of the Banuk or Oseram originating within Nora lands. The Carja definitely did though
@@MaxC_1 it’s definelty possible tho
I think the Utaru are more so releated to the Tenakth but we’ll see when the new game is released
Still waiting on a video about the Holy Britannian Empire. All Hail Britannia!
Down with Britannia! Long live Zero! Long Live the Black Knights!!
Hail Zero!
Hail Japan!
Mari McGee Hail! Banzai! *sips sake from saucer then smashes it to floor*
All hail Lelouch!
Darth Cindros I want to know about pizza Hut
Auugghhh!! the sequel is going to be amazing!
The way you've presented this game's narrative is so much more compelling than the way the game itself tells it. I should add the word "unfortunately" in there somewhere.
Yes, thank you very much!
It took us 3 months, but we got around to it!
How have i not seen this till now? I thought ive watched every hzd video out there
Nice video. I hope you do a video about Ted Faro & his Faro Automated Solutions. I really want to know everything behind the man who doomed Humanity because of his greed.
Excuse me did you said something?
the only thing I understood was: sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun.
leaving the jokes behind this video was interesting the only thing I knew about HZD was that it had artificial dinosaurs
The Culture appears to have some similarities with Roman/Greek and Mayan/Aztec
The lore is actually very interesting when you start playing the game. It’s really fun when you reach the “Ah ha” moment in the plot where every detail of the world pops into place
The story and lore of Horizon is really great. Its probably the best Sci-Fi story I have come across in video games.
Nothing is random, everything makes sense and its a fascinating setting.
What? Itamen is the true Sun-King! You walk in shadow!
reminds me of some lyrics I heard:
"Hear the prophet make his guess
that paradise lies to the west
so join his quest for the sun"
Kinda sounds like the formation of the Aztecs , where the tribe leader had a vision of an eagle sitting on a cactus holding a snake as where to settle his people
The culture appears to be stylized the same way and its suspected the Aztecs came from North America and into Mexico which would be dangerous with different climate conditions and dangers. Both has the Eagle on a object, the Eagle on a Cactus and the Machine hawk on the pillar, and both were in very difficult locations to live in despite the surrounding area being abundant in resources. The Aztecs, had the swamp/marsh the Sundom had the cliffs and mesa but amazingly both are surprisingly defendable, they were the most technologically advanced compared to neighbors at the time, and both did ritural sacrficing.
Please do the Faro plague / machines from Horizon zero dawn!
You guys should make a video on the Foundation, from the SCP stories and games
I think Advanced Wars (Game Boy, DS) has enough backstory for the Templin Institute treatment.
payday gang and sisters of batle
I really need to play this.
We need moreeee!!!
Possible factions that I would like to see covered by the Institute:
*Irken Empire from _Invader Zim_
*Shinra Electric Power Company from _Final Fantasy VII_
*Gekkostate from _Eureka Seven_
*Builders League United, Reliable Excavation Demolition, and/or Mann Co. from _Team Fortress 2_
*The titular witchers from _The Witcher_ series
*Aperture Science from _Portal_
*House Heterodyne from _Girl Genius_ (Webcomics like these seriously need more love.)
*Overwatch from...well, _Overwatch._
Man, I wish this wasn't an exclusive. I swear, exclusives are a crime.
Exclusives let the people who distribute them be able to keep doing that. I like them.
@@ungusbungus2486 yeah not at all. Considering Guerilla made tons off PC port by no means exclusives benefit anyone except Sony megacorporation and the snobby exclusive lovers. Not to mention there's far more extremely successful games that are cross platform than exclusives out there
Greetings people of the Templin Institute, I hope your day is going well :)
Would love to see one on Umbrella Corp from Resident Evil, or anything from the Edge Chronicles
A
Make a Dosier about Loghain Mac Tir from the Dragon Age games/books!
He is a controversial, deeply layered charater, who have gone through many tragedies in his life and you cannot simply just describe him as good, or bad!
I would really like to see a history on the Pendulum War from Gears of War
Politely requesting;
Decepticons (Transformers)
Cybrids (Earthsiege/Starsiege/Tribes)
The Gorn hegemony (Star Trek)
The Empire of the Hand (Star Wars Legends)
I really hope this game gets a sequel.
Do Tamriel next! The most lore-intensive video game world ever created
You should do an analysis on the Homeworld Universe Franchise.
Guy Please may you accept my request The Guild of Calamitous Intent from The Venture Brothers. If you do I will always praise your work and do all I can to get the word to others of your great work. Please
"Hehe is ya Boy. Hades."
Need to do a magic plane like domminara
Ahh i see they worship the Sun God
Sol Invictus.
Any of 4 Orion Arm Superpowers - From Dawn of Victory Mod* for the SotSE.
*Probably no longer, but the DoW universe itself is still being developed.
The beginning of the story has a very biblical feel, something like Moses. And the Sun Kings literally the same that was given to a long living king, King Louis the Something, and it’s fitting that the 13th monarch brought them problems
You guys need to do the hiigarans
Holy crap yess
Ahriman found a text coming from the Old Ones? The ones that are fat toad people who created the eldar, orks, and lizardmen?
Another Fallout faction like the Brotherhood of Steel would be cool.
take a shot every time Sun is said
The Sundome... Interpreting the Sun's desires... Seems someone's been in the sun a little too long.
Can you do a video about Kaiserreich specifically all the major powers of the Kaiserreich universe.
Still; Best... Sub... ever!
Can you do InGen from Jurassic Park plz.
At 0:22 I think you meant to say "messa."
Interesting topic. If possible please do Andrew Ryan/ Rapture.
How about an analysis of the Kushan and the Hiigaran's from Homeworld.
So Basically they are a future Mayan/Aztec Empire they carry much of the trappings of them from fashion/ customs and art design with European styled architecture
Any chance you could do the Alliance and the Horde before the new World of Warcraft Expansion?
All hail the Omnirissa!
The Carja are definitely a blend of Roman, Byzantine and Persian influence.
Also Aztec.
The Guardians from Destiny.
This guy has the cutest voice
How about a video on the Circle of Nine (Legacy of Kain) and one on the Sarafan (the same)?
Can you cover the Principality of Zeon?
So PRAY THE SUN BRO!
Coalition of Ordered Governments from Gears of War please!
The operate under a sunocray.
OMG HORIZON!
