At 3:53, the train backing into the station is likely Train #60 from Toronto. While the train would normally pull in beside train #14, based on the consist (HEP-II coaches and baggage car), the train is likely #60. Often times it would be backed in to make it easier to cross platform transfer of luggage and so the baggage car (and locomotive) could be taken off before the rest of the consist left for either Ottawa or Toronto.

Went to Montreal for the first time in August. Would like to go back sometime. Went up there with a tour group on the Adirondack.

+Transitfan93 I had to get special permission. Recently I was refused permission so I doubt that they will allow it any more.

why did they pull the overhead wires down

    • @davidlisowski5245

So dome cars could enter the station. The wires were only used south of the station during the time of steam so that electric locomotives could bring trains into downtown after swapping the steam engines out at Pointe St. Charles or Turcot.
