It may seem a bit of an exaggeration but I think the tip of the using the skewer to clean round the hob and other small hard to reach places, has changed my life! I watched this video late at night and genuinely did not sleep cos I was so excited to try it. it works a treat

I LOVE that you keep a new towel in front, and the one you are using in back... simply GENIUS! And I may be able to reduce some of my laundry by trying your tip for your kitchen wash cloth. I have been washing mine out, drying on the faucet (yep, I'm one of those lol), but using a new one EVERY day.
You are so right about sponges being full of bacteria and needing to be tossed often! When I clean my microwave I wet my sponge with water, a few spritzes of Mrs Meyer's Geranium all purpose cleaner (I love that scent) and put that in the microwave for 2 minutes. Softens the spatter in the microwave, disinfects my sponge and no wasted paper towels.
New subscriber here. I tend to listening/ partially watching cleaning videos while I clean my apartment. You had me stop cleaning my kitchen so I can completely focus on your video. Apartment is clean and now I am binge watching your videos. Lol keep up the wonderful work
First of all. LOVE that microwave! But second, third, and etc, I love the towel idea. I have a tiny apartment kitchen, but there is a space that I can utilize to display my towels. I tend to drape mine over my oven handle because that's what mom and grandma did. I also love the idea of the lemon essential oil and water in the nuker to clean it out. it too is one of my favorite smells. Finally, I love the idea of running the diffuser at night after a meal of fried meats or stewed cabbage or greens. Those are smells that tend to linger in the house for days. Keep being great, Nikki!

Great ideas. Beautiful kitchen. However, for those us with 'less disposable income, zapping our kitchen sponges in the microwave for 2 full minutes will kill 99% of the germs. I zap my kitchen sponges once a day for the most part, but more often if used excessively in one day.
an nami I agree, I use mine until it falls apart because I cook it in the microwave for a few minutes after each use. They never smell bad or look as though they've got something growing in their innards lol

I just want thank you for your helpful videos.. it really has encouraged me to really get going on what I've known I have needed to do for the longest time to become stress free from my home. My anxieties really come from my home and always trying to keep clean and organized but I do have too much stuff and it has taken over.

Great tips! Here's another: I cycle my sponges from the dish washing area to the floor and baseboards. A week or two after I've opened a new sponge, when it's starting to get harder to keep fresh, I dry it out, replace it with a new sponge, and put the old sponge in a container where I keep floor sponges. Then I can use it with hot water and Murphy's soap to clean baseboards and around the corners and edges of the floors before eventually discarding it.

I do the same. Every night I toss my damp sponge in the microwave. Otherwise it is just waste even if you do have disposable income.
