The O-rings shown at 8 min 30 sec. The 2 slightly smaller ones are for the modulator, and electrical case connector. The larger one is for the filter tube to case. It is size 116. I use probably 50 of these Precision paper/rubber kits a year for TH400's, and trust me Precision is not kind enough to double up on the filter tube O-rings. I buy size 116 O-rings (Viton) in bulk for use in doubling up the O-rings on the filter tube. Measure the 3 bores (modulator/electrical case connector/filter tube) OR install the corresponding O-rings in their respective bores (without the part they go on) and you will see that the electrical case connector, and modulator are the same size, and use the smaller of the two. The smaller ones have quite a bit of slop in the filter tube bore. If stretched around the filter tube for use in this location they will be slightly smaller in cross section diameter. You might be getting away with it, but personally I would not risk it.. Smitty
Great Video I really like your relaxed teaching style That was very informative on the seals and rings. Maybe a video on tools and assembly lubes and one on driver fluids Normal Dex3 to Dex6 to Hi perf ATF and HTF(hydraulic tractor fluid) i have heavy equipment repair experience and HTF is a very capable drive fluid Especially in severe duty applications I would like to hear your opinion on using it in a competition TH400 Thanks Jeff
Love the vids, channel. I would really like to see a vid about the governor. I was going to buy a weight and spring kit, first one I'm doing. Any tips, tricks, best kit, gear, valve?????
Might be a dumb question, but what determines when it's time to do a seal kit/full rebuild kit/ steels and clutches if your transmission was working fine when pulled and there's no known damage inside the unit? Thanks for the great content
I picked up a Transtar K34900-2 "gasket and seal kit" for my TH-375 that's leaking from... everywhere. I can turn a wrench but I dunno much about transmissions. Anything I should check when I get it semi-disassembled on the bench?
Loving it! The basics of the basics. Great for us novices. Keep them coming.
Glad you liked it, Thanks!
another very nice and informative show thanks again Shaun your a legend
Awww! Thanks!
Good video series. Making my rebuild go well for a first timer.
Glad to help out!

At 14:40.. those possibliy are for the early linkage shaft..my 66 doesnt have a seal, instead it has 2 o-rings...
Love these vids!
Very possible!
I noticed my new Sonnax linkage shaft had an o-ring groove but didn’t consider that , I will have to try it! Thanks
What Precision kit # is the kit with all the scarf cut rings encluded 400 Shawn!

Good question!
If it isn’t leaking and you are not about to put a ton of power to it, drive it as is.
The fluid usually tells a story as well.

Might as well strip it down and inspect everything.
Yeah, but who's gonna put it back together if I do that? Lol
Love the info keep it up
I will do my best, Thanks!
👍
Have you ever turned a stock th400 valve body into A reverse pattern valve body? Now that would be a good lesson for all!
I have studied it, might be a good adventure!
