Bro I own the ssd holder made for the T5 and it's just dumb. Not only can you only mount it on one spot like you said but it also COVERS THE BUILT IN COLDSHOE ON THE FULL CAGE!!! LIKE WHY???
I have that same T5 SSD holder for the Black magic cage. I wanted to use it on my Sigma FP cage, but like you said, there is no way to mount it. So what I did, was, I turned it upside down, and drilled a 1/4 inch hole on the bottom of it, then tapped it with 1/4 20 threads. Now I can mount it any where I want on any cage. I almost bought that second one you bought, but I thought it was too expensive. Before modifying the T5 SSD holder. I was using a cell phone mount to hold the SSD. It seems like every time I buy a new gimbal, it comes with a cell phone mount, so I had plenty to choose from.
I agree the smallrig SSD mount sucks ass for mounting only in one spot! face palm. Side note: you can take off the rubber IO cover and put them back if ya needed to. I took mine off forever ago.

They way you have the sad holder, I could only fit one screw and it kept coming loose.. so I did it horizontal. It works just fine... just they way placed it in the Amazon product video demo....
Damn it... I just bought THAT specific Samsung SSD holder 🤦♀️ it arrived a couple of hours ago. Oh well... I’ll just send it back without opening it and buy the other one. Thanks for sharing this info man!
I know, that's one's my favorite, however, just a tad beyond my budget on what i'm willing to spend on an SSD holder, considering I already have a bunch of different handles. Good lookin' out tho!
I am really surprised how popular the T5 SSD and bmpcc combination is. I mean, the form factor and the size are great but as far as I know its speed limits you to BRAW 5:1 (without frame skipping). I use 2.5 inch SSDs in Atomos Master Caddy and put them in a SmallRig power bank holder. Better placement, more storage, higher write speed.

Apparently you scared a lot of your viewers with that Patreon, lol. I have developed a Bmpcc 4k/6k fatigue, man. :-) The old ssd holder makes sense, but covers up a precious cold shoe. Although when you mount the camera onto a steadicam you know it is now moulded to the rig. I can see why they designed it that way. Cheers
I was searching on the web some information about this ssd mount(2343) and I found your video.. so here is a clever comment about something I need to know (and I believe its a doubt to a lot of videographers like me) and Its some information you didn´t mention on your video. I noticed it locks the ssd without any screws (it looks like just hold with spring pressure), so I cannot know the maximum size of ssd I can buy. Can you tell me if it holds an regular ssd 2.5 enclosure case? and I hope to win your giveaway so I dont need to buy that for me :D

I just ordered the kit with the cam, full cage, and the first ssd holder. Mine came with the 1/4” mounts. Works with my shoulder rig too.
