We asked Mr. West to confirm or deny some of the rumors and little-known trivia surrounding the Batman 1966 TV show, its production, and the man himself, including:
How many different Batmobiles were used on the show? Is it’s true he’s the only actor that’s been the appropriate height to play Batman? Could he have played James Bond as well?
Batman: The Complete Series, is NOW AVAILABLE on Blu-Ray, and it comes with all sorts of neat features. Like a singing box, and a little toy Batmobile!

It's still a brilliant pleasure to see Adam West's personality. He is still perhaps one of the best actors in Hollywood when his own mannerisms are allowed to shine through.

June 10th 2017 (sigh) God Bless the soul of Mr. Adam West Just passed away at the age of 88 from his fight with Leukemia
He had such a strong and vibrant presence that it seemed like he would always be around and so full of life when he did this wonderful fun spoof of his old TV show which totally captured the old show and he still sounded great, they all did.
Well I just learned that Mr. West has a Star on Hollywood Blvd. which pleases me very much.
R I P Mr. West. I hope your soul is comforted by the fact that your fans love you and will always remember you.
I think in the next Batman movie, Batman should be climbing up the wall and Adam West looks out and sees him.

on the off chance that Adam West sees my comment, I want to say that Batman has been a hero to me since I was a kid in the 90s and my deceased uncle since he was a kid. we would lovingly watch reruns of the 60s show in the early 00s and have a good time in the process. I wish I could come to the last con of Adam and Burt if I could, but oh well. just want to say how fun the 60s Batman show was and that I'm a fan

Pure class, Adam West!! He was either made for the role of the Caped Crusader or he made the role. I'm not sure which. I met Adam in the early 90's and I was so surprised at how down to earth and just plain nice to be around, he was.

What would be great is using his facial features to portray pictures of Thomas Wayne for the next Batman films.
+interplanetarydream You know what's really great is even if they don't use his hair color, it seems they still Adam West's facial features as a template for making the batman cartoon characters. They may exaggerate the squareness of his jaw a little, but I still see Adam West's face in almost all the cartoon drawings of Batman.

Adam West seems to have a real good attitude about having been campy!Batman. Alot of actors end up resenting never being able to live down a silly role like that.
He embraced the camp on the show. He actually criticized the Burton films when first released because he thought they were too serious, adult, and dark.
+jliller Well, it was such an iconic role. People didn't see the camp. When I was a little kid and I watched the reruns, I thought it was the coolest thing. Kids don't see the camp.
+Jero Briggs I wonder what he thought of Batman & Robin. That film certainly tried(and failed) to capture the campiness and cheesiness of the original tv series.
Don't know. But I think we fans can all agree that Barman & Robin was shit. They may have made it camp, but it did not capture the spirit of the original. I liked the film when I was a kid, but as soon as I became a teenager, the film lost its appeal. While the tv series I think got better because I got the clever but campy jokes. The film had dumb campy jokes instead of clever. Plus the film was following a mostly serious film series, and when they cheeses it up, it just felt out of place. And even if the jokes were clever, if they wanted to capture the feel of the tv series, they should have taken the film less seriously. Yes less seriously, you can't have a dramatic and emotional part, like Alfred dying, while making the rest of the movie campy. It doesn't meld well together. The tv show never took itself seriously. The film was just a miss-mash of things that didn't go well together. Much like the film in the rest of the film series.
The Avengers cast does complain a lot.

Great guy! The only Batman who is 6'2". The other ones, especially, Michael Keaton, seemed to be short on the screen even though the movie magic that was applied to make them look taller.
Am I the only one who wanted him to read the whole letter?

I grew up watching Batman on WPIX as a teeny kid, and still watch the show on IFC on the weekends. Favorite show then and now. The camp, the puns, the cameos, the tights!!

I watched this show when I was growing up. I loved it, and never noticed all the campy comedy. My mom would look in on us and laugh, my brother and I would get all mad at her.
It wasn't until I watched some of the series as an adult that I saw all the humor.

A batman animated film should be made where all the film an tv show incarnations of Batman (voiced by the original actors who portrayed them) are pull to one universe to fight some ultimate threat. I'd watch that in a heartbeat!
There was a Batman brave and the bold episode where they did that except they turned into vampires.

When conducting an interview, do not begin a question, with, "so,." Not only, does it sound, as if you're, just reading pre-selected questions, off a page but, also, it gives your guest the impression, that you aren't, really, listening. Not five converted Lincoln Futuras but, three. I love, that Mr. West didn't want to know the "wall-walk" cameos.
