    Without this video I would’ve spent all the money to just replace everything. Thank you for the clarity.

    So was the car idling rough after the plugs were replaced? I have an 07 M35X and mine is idling pretty rough. Dropped it off and the shop said it was a misfire and needed new plugs. They replaced the plugs and they said it’s still idling rough but there getting multi-cylinder misfire code now. The tech master said it may need the ignition coils replaced. Any advice?

    I have a 2006 Infiniti M35 I have a misfire. After having 6 spark plugs replaced it wasn’t the ignition coils, I had good compression on the cylinder 125 LB per square inch. The adjacent compression is good. I do have a oil leak in the valve gasket and need a new valve gasket and cover that has not been fixed as of yet. What is my issue on Cylinder 6

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  Год назад

      Try swapping the fuel injector and see if the issue move...
      What does the spark plug look like at the electrode? That tell a story depending on color.
      Do you have 12v and ground at your connector on coil 6. Same for injector, do you have signal and power?
      Do you have mechanical noise?

      @@partsshooter Well it’s at a mechanic shop Bartlett. My vehicle been there 1 month 4 days. I had a 27 point inspection done the first, while there I decided to have more work put in. My battery needed recharge, there was a oil leak coming from valve cover gasket, a misfire cylinder 6 P0306 and needed 6 spark plugs, Oxygen sensor B2 P0051 and P1168. No gas leak. They checked claimed compression reading on an adjacent cylinder good and compression on cylinder 125 LB per square inch. Installed new sparks he installed a coil tester to see if misfires resolved but I still had a misfire on cylinder 6. * to remove and re-intall the intake manifold to go in and test see If he finds just a faulty electrical connection or faulty fuel gauge or fuel injector.

      @@partsshooter They claim I may not need oxygen sensor replaced it may not been part of misfire problem. They said The oxygen sensor commutes to the computer to help adjust the air fuel mixture for the engine. Just because there is a code does not mean replacement is necessary. It must be proven, the code may have been thrown due to the continued misfire while the engine is running. The systems do need to communicate together and a problem in one part of the engine can result in a code due to simply a misreading by the sensor.

    My car has the same misfire code for bank 2 but it's under lean conditions. It's also throwing a code for oxygen sensor bank 2 could the o2 be causing the random misfire code ?

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  3 года назад +1

      Sound like an injector issue... The o2 sensor lean code can be a byproduct of misfire.
      Theoretically, if there's no fuel during the combustion cycle, there's a volume of air being calculated leaning out mixture reading [via o2]. conversely, if there's a fire issues, there's unburned fuel being calculated creating a "rich" condition.

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  2 года назад +2

      Isolate misfire and check for fuel, fire and compression. Check the circuit to connector of bad cylinder, check Power and grounds to defective cylinder and compare to good cylinder.

    Hey I got a 04 g35 that's not firing on coils 456 and cranks but after a while blows fuse 77 and cooks coils 123 if you keep trying . Prior was running fine just wanted to do a tune up coils and plugs

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  3 года назад +1

      If you're blowing coils constantly... Check your ground wiring or add a supplemental ground. [From chassis to engine] ignition coil probably don't have anywhere to dissipate energy frying the coil. Coil gets stressed - coil gets internally shorted and blowing the fuse.
      [Something to consider without extensive testing] this happen with 2.5 Nissans.
      May have shorted ignition coil causing bank issues... May have shorted 12v reference on that bank and or ground issue. May have short to ground on ignition coil signal side energizing ignition coils damaging the coils!

      @@partsshooter Thanks for the fast reply, so I did throw in a extra ground that goes from the battery to the block where the chassis to block connects the other day. I bought oem coils from Amazon for $205 and threw a 20a instead of a 15 to number 77 fuse in the ipdm made sure my ground to timing cover was good it cranked still got po300 only but not firing on 456 still and new coils on 123 are trying to bulge out sent to a nissan dealership near me for the last week and no info yet proly gonna pay the bigger tow fee and send it further to the infiniti dealership

      @@revbess its not that hard... You have the banks isolated, just narrow down if it's fuel or fire related! I'm sure the dealership knows these things😂.
      Check your injectors for 12v and ground signal, test light can be used for that!
      Start checking powers and grounds with "KOEO" go from there! Get back with me when you test these.
