  • We recently acquired this 2018 Honda CRF50 mini Dirt Bike. It had been sitting for a long time and currently won't start. Can I get it going on my own with the help of my 9 year old son?? How much will it cost??

The low jet was clogged on mine and leaking gas. You cant replace the low jet its pressed in so i bought a new carb at honda. Mine was running similar to yours. I had the idle screw almost all the way in so it was only running on the high jet. The one the guys cleaned is the high jet

After a lot of fiddling, it’s running pretty well now. There is a drain screw at the bottom of the carb so I have to remember to drain the gas when it’s going to sit.

Hope you adjusted that front brake lever position, that hurt my eyes 😂 its way too high, get him to practice riding with feet on the pegs so he can get used to using that back brake. And like others said, check valves change oil and should be good for years. Not sureif it was just how it looked on cam but are the handle bars bent?

Thank you for the suggestions. I think the handle bars are a little off center if that’s what you mean.

@@nowherefastgarage no the brake lever is too high making you have to bend your wrist back to get your fingers over it to pull
