- There's definitely a lot of room for improvement, I'm mostly limited by my skill, a better pilot should be able to pull this off much faster. On a side note, the voice lines do not like you pulling off the tunnel run this fast
Edit: Units are in KPH and meters for speed and height respectively

Not only keeping up at 0:29 Count is literally eating the Darkstar with his F-15. Probably powered by belkan engines. Superior Belkan engineering again IMO.

You have to fly out to complete it but phenomenal flying.
It's the DarkStar. Turns like a brick. Imagine turning that thing when it's going Mach whateverthefuck, and there is a sharp turn and you gotta make it. Not happening.

It’s a pain but it’s possible. I don’t full gas it through the tunnel. Upgrade ECU for better post stall, or go underneath the bridges and pull a long turn when you’re coming back up. Frankly it’s amazing for the last part, very little sway due to the acceleration

@@Davey_Does what if, hear me out on this one; what if the drone is actually faster than the planes, uses the headstart it got over us, does some PSM in the open rooms in the tunnel, uses different tunnel to come down behind us, shoots Count, then accelerates ahead of us by using a different tunnel. This would actually explain how the drone got behind us, then ahead of us, seeing as Count speculates that the drone is controlling tunnel entrances
@@oldtimegames96 that also explains the bullshit turns its twin does, the one we shoot down before the tunnel run.

0:29 I don't know what kind of belkan engines Count put in his F-15 but danm they are making the Darkstar look like a Cessna 150 in speed. Superior Belkan engineering IMO.
For anyone complaining about f-15 being able to keep up with Darkstar : f-15 has a maximum operating speed of about 2500kmph. And seeing as the speed readings in AC7 are always in kmph, this means that Darkstar never exceeded the maximum flight speed of Count's plane. (I'm not saying it would be easy for Count to keep up, just saying that it would be technically possible).
A small correction, Darkstar DID exceed the max flight speed of Count's plane, but seeing as it was only for a few seconds at best, it would mean that Count, while being behind us, would not be TOO far behind.
F-15 max speed is 3000 kmph, so he could outrun the Darkstar if he didn't care about the maintenance crew having a hell of day afterwards
You can set the speed to mph
@@falkenlaser and what would that change? The craft's top speed would remain the same, just the numbers describing it would change
AC7 lets you change to aviation units (knots/ft) in the menu. Pretty sure that's what's happening here.

What if he travelled faster than sound? Even if it did destroy the tunnel, he could outrun the destruction since force propagates through materials around the speed of sound depending on material

I could never go through the entire tunnel at full speed; every time I tried that, I crashed. Same thing happened when flying through the Space Elevator's windbreak.

I’ve completed that mission it was well hard especially climbing the space elevator. I did it in the MiG 35 D if anyone is wandering
I did it in a F22, I tbh found the tunnel harder than the elevator. But getting in the elevator to go up is a pain in the ass

The first time I did this mission, I ran with a Darkstar. Not entirely sure whether or not that was the best idea
I ran it with a Falken, it was... interesting given how it felt like I was one step from slamming into a wall even in the large room at the end.

I literally upgraded my DarkStar to the brim the High Speed was super close to reaching max, it's max speed on my DarkStar was literally 5420 :0

Got this bugged once with the Rafale, made a perfect tunnel run but the drone didn't appeared in the room and the timer never started because I reached it even before Count got Shot down... was real sad to restart from the checkpoint after a flawless run (was on Easy because it happened during my no-damage Run, already done the Gun only and less than 4 hours)
You should definitely try to go full speed through cape rainy in the dark star
The only thing that I absolutely hate about this game is that the aircraft that fly faster than the speed of sound dont produce a sonic boom in third person. Otherwise everything is beautiful.
There is alot of minor details bandai always miss on their games. Jet wash, fuel, sonic boom, etc. Hopefully the next title will include it on the next gen consoles

It’s weird tho because the dark star being the sr-72 essentially is a surveillance aircraft over a fighter
And weaponized hypersonic high altitude aircraft typically aren't as maneuverable
There's an AC style game I'd played where you could fly an SR-71 and it had nuclear missiles as an available weapon. It was a fun game.
