I really loved that moment when Hawkman said "It's hawkin' time!~" and started hawkmaning all over the place. And by "hawkmaning" I meant shooting everything that moves. And double tapping anything that stopped moving.
Really bugs me when people put the burden of final justice on the vigilantes who are doing their best to uphold the moral highground. I mean, think about it: whose fault is it that the Joker is alive? The caped crusader who can only continue his crime-fighting spree so long as he avoids killing? Or the judge who is responsible for the safety of the community? Joker should be given a life sentence and executed, not gunned down in the streets.
If memory serves, blunt force trauma weapons like maces and hammers were the favored means of dealing with chain mail, which was resistant to being cut or pierced. Were they also used for plate mail?
@@calebowens693 Yes. Pretty sure piercing weapons like Pikes were made against chain mail, focussing on one ring and bending it apart to pierce through. It's just that blunt force always works. But Plate Mail was made to make blades (and spikes) slide off and deflect. Blunt weapons would instead batter the armor with greater impact force instead of cutting or piercing power. Best case (for the attacker) it would also bend the armor, handicapping the opponent with movement (joints), breathing (chestplate) or sight (helmet).
@@Suthek Huh, that's a better analysis of piercing weapons vs. chain mail than I had heard before. Also, a good breakdown of blunt weapons vs. plate. Thank you, that's good to know.

definitely one of the heroes of all time
No jokes here, Luthor and manta have killed who knows how many people and just continue to no matter how many times they go to jail. There is a point where you have to ask yourself if killing them isn't the objectively good thing to do.
Maze joke, nice
@@thesanss4671 seriously, Hawkman is badass. Basically batman but with powers
@@nkemnoraulmanfredini7286 He's Batman without powers. But he is awesome. He's one of my favs.
Well it's not that he's Batman. It's that Batman isn't unique, even when he came out. That type of hero was established.
Hawkman adds an adventure, mystical, and sci fi element.
This really give me that "It is us! Superfriends! Happiness, wonder, hope and incredible violence!" comic vibe, and I absolutely love it!
In case anyone is wondering, the comic in question is by shen comix :-)
I recognize this from countless hours scrolling through instagram
As a Hawkman fan, I vividly enjoy this.
Edit: Also I totally thought he was going to sacrifice himself
Is hawkman fan even exists?
as a Hawkhead you mean

I prefer "Hawk & Ball Torterer"
@@bennetttheunluckyguy6428 yeah as a moon knight fan they've been holding on for years they're out there though
@@strombreakr "cock and ball torture, by the encyclopedia-"
The line "I want to stop him but I want to stay monetised!" is one of the best fourth-wall breaks I have ever seen
Every time it is the same thing. I get to the end giggling and thinking that this can't get any funnier, and you always drop that final punchline that sends me into tears...🤣🤣🤣
Hawkman used Regular Gun, Lex's own invention, against his Legion! He has truly turned the tables on these villains.
he looted it off of lex.
I knew what was coming when I heard Hawkman mention "No more mace for me.", and yet I still lost it when it did happen.
Guns are the non-violent option when Hawkman realises he's an idiot.
i like how they could have stopped hawkman at any point but chose to try to talk him down from his primal feral state
You either die a hero or live long enough to die a Hawkman villain.
Hawkman’s methods are “unorthodox” but he gets results
Hawkman's methods (beat with mace. Use gun if mace proves ineffective) are the most orthodox of all.
Hawkman, the punisher and judge dredd should team up! They'd really "clean up" the streets. XD
Hawkman becoming my Fav…use violence, if it does not work use more violence, again and again…
Hawkman also has the lesser known power of making the blood on his hands dissapear when they touch his hip
(Very handy for dealing with the authorities)
I love the fact that these actually have continuity. They even follow on from previous conversations and pay off what they set up in previous videos.
I desperately want all of his videos to be canon to each other
Hawkman is an old school D&D Cleric and I love him for that.
But the whole reason old school D&D Clerics used bludgeoning weapons and not blades, arrows, and spears was so they could more easily AVOID lethality.
@@videogollumer Clerics use Maces because real life Christian Priests/Monks started using maces to clobber the fuck out of Knights and Vikings.
@@uberd3323 Yeah, to quell them, not kill them!
@@videogollumer Dude, they (justifiably) killed the shit out of out people with Maces. Those things dont just cartoon bonk discombobulate people, they smash through metal armor, splinter the metal inwards and crack bone. Given the medical knowledge back then, I dont even think theres a way to defeat someone with a mace that's not going to either kill them down the line via infection or shatter bone right into arteries/organs.
@@uberd3323 Well, if you're saying "justifiably", that implies self-defense. Plus, the knights and Vikings wore armor, so... speak softly and carry a big stick?
Regardless, I think my statement was kinda the point in D&D. In early editions, Clerics couldn't use blades or sharp ended missile weapons. There's definitely a reason, and I'm pretty sure that it was implying that Clerics, GOOD Clerics, tried to avoid shedding blood. Besides, they can magically heal wounds.
I love how his idea of a non lethal solution was a gun
1:23 I thought supes legit holed a Lazer through him 😅
Almost broke a bone while I fell while laughing at Hawkman asking himself if a non-lethal solution was even possible haha. Another masterpiece Solid, well done
Hawkman, truly glorious
0:29 i excepted for this to last whole video
Same.
JJ Hawkman is quite literally "The Power of Incredible Violence" incarnate
Cisco: "Hawkman, are you okay? You're covered in blood."
Hawkman: "It's not my blood."
"He's got a gun!" Reminding us that Hawkman is sometimes a cop
Also, this video reminds us that he's called "The Savage Hawkman"
" _if you kill a killer, the number of killers in the world stays the same_ " -Batman
Hawkman: kills 2 people and tries justifying it by saying it's the "right thing to do" and saying he basically goes insane while doing it
Batman: _listen here, you little shi*_
0:52 yeah, that's blood...
So apparently the one thing that can destroy Lex Luthor's invisible Sheild protecting his head is a mace. Huh neat
Well yeah, it is a mace made of magic fantasy metal from space
If anything that helmet was just REALLY impressive
@@beywheelzhater8930 apparently not as impressive as a dessert eagle with a hot load.
actually yeah, that mace is very strong, made of Nth metal. He can kill a ghost with it if he had to, its strong and bull shit in abilitys. It has several support and offence qualities.
honestly it should've broken mantas helmet realistically, especially since MACES ARE DESIGNED TO BREAK HELMETS, but mantas helmet is tough as it protects him from deep underwater pressure, and with super friends logic, I can see how the oroginal show would think helmet beats mace.
Nth metal is basically magical adamantium. It can do basically anything the writer wants it to, even reincarnate or resurrect people.
well, the mace is made of Nth Metal , which disrupts magic powers, so...
Damn how have I only just found this page. Brilliant

Hawk man was then granted a medal of honor for finally killing the villains stopping the millions of deaths.
Except he didn't stop the laser, which was the device causing those millions of deaths
Except the laser is still randomly firing, and the only guy who could stop it is dead.
@@davidwuhrer6704 I mean, Green Lantern could probably chuck it into a sun in another universe 2 billion years in the future, or something, with a thought.

Love the continuity, and Hawkman finally did a thing. Wasn't expecting him to do that, but he did a thing alright
It was one of the things of all time.
Supes askes the real question there: "Why are we just standing here?"
The heroes stood petrified. They had already suspended Hawkman with pay, what more could they do?
A video from Solid JJ is absolutely amazing every time and makes my day.
Glad to see Hawkman get to use Lex’s latest invention after the Riddler had to be on the receiving end.
"Why're we just standing here?"
Love that it took that long for them to realize that pretty much any of them could have stopped him at any time
Even hilarious is that Superman, Wonder Woman, and GL have superhuman speed. They literally could've charged Hawkman, who is below them in terms of strength and durability
It's just that Hawkman's willingness and joy to murder just scared them from approaching him
I mean, brutal murder of any and every villain will theoretically stop them from continuing to cause problems
I think Hawkman has snapped from years of being ignored by his peers, and this is the outcome. 0.0
I really loved that moment when Hawkman said "It's hawkin' time!~" and started hawkmaning all over the place. And by "hawkmaning" I meant shooting everything that moves. And double tapping anything that stopped moving.
I loved the part where I saw a dead meme.
“Is that a mace?”
- Lex Luther, April 1940 - January 2023
Surely hawkman is one of the best heroes of all time, he actually makes sure that his criminals don't come back
Whole lotta pain and suffering in the DC universe could stop if the “heroes” dispatched some MFs medieval style.

"Violence is Not The Answer, It's a Question, And The Answer is YES"
- Hawkman (Probably)
Actually accurate to the way Hawkman has been written for a while.
1:59
Superman: Jimmy
Manta: Howard
Hawkman: Lalo
"Is that a mace?" Lex Luthor said calmly.
Hawkman made sure no one forgot him after what happened to luther
This is how it feels to play a Barbarian in DnD and your whole party looks at you questionably as you murder everything
Pffhahe
“Alright alright, no more gun for me! I’ve learned my lesson!” *[gets out an M32 rotary grenade launcher]*
"Protective Headgear, Hawkman's one true weakness."
The irony is that blunt weapons like maces were literally made to deal with metal armor.
The mace does hold all of his powers and what a bs list of powers it has.
the funniest one is it can take whatever form he wants, it could be armor or a shield but he chooses it to be a mace.
I love how the justice league are clutching their pearls at Hawkman beating Luthor to death but don't blink when he eventually escapes and kills dozens of people.
