My grandson was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. I would play this to him and he would fall asleep. We lost him a year ago today and it hasn't gotten any easier. Papa loves you little buddy and I will sing this to you again in God's kingdom

I've been blessed with a Grandchild (boy) and I savor every second with him. He's 11 months old and we sing together. He squeals while I sing Beatles song with him. He was humming to McCartney's "Mull Of Kintyre" when he was just, 5 months of age. Sorry to hear about your loss and I can only, imagine going through something like that ! You definitely will see your most, precious little one AGAIN in the next life.

I still carry the weight of my son's death of hypoplastic left heart too. I lost him June 18th, 1983. I held him only three days, and he passed. No one would even try to help him. I still think of him. He was my first child. So I understand your grief. Be Safe. And God Bless.

Same here parents divorced when I was 14, had to drop out of school to raise my both older and younger brothers and sisters. This song means so much to me. I had to wear an adults shoes and grow up fast,hard, and strong.

I'm 68 and was never around for the Beethoven's or Mozart's but I have had the Beatles all my life. Their lyrics 'help me if you can I'm feeling down ' and 'all my troubles seemed so far away' etc etc - everyday life experienced by all of us and to know we weren't alone with our pains, feelings and emotions.. How lucky am I 'for in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make'.

I cry just about every time I listen to this song. It reminds me of my Dad. I was beside him when he died. Watched him take his last breath. I couldn't help but think of how he would come into my bedroom in the middle of the night when I'd cry because my legs hurt. He would get up and come in there and rub them until I went back to sleep. Fast forward forty years and I was there by his side talking to him promising him that I would try to make him proud of me.
I can tell from your post that he is, Billy, very proud of you.

I don't comment on RUclips ever, but I just wanted to let you know the impact this cover has had on my life. When I first heard this I legit thought it was The Beatles version. I had just had my son (my one and only child). He was a picky sleeper would only sleep on my chest. So I would play this song for him to get him to sleep. He has been falling asleep to your cover of this song for a little over a year. It has an immediate soothing effect on him as soon as he hears it. Thank you from me and my son💘

@Jules Gilmour … I grew up in the sixties and seventies....and every nuance of sound is glaringly obvious to those of us from that generation. That's the "thing" about "remakes". To the people that are infinitely familiar with the original: a cover just isn't necessary, and almost invariably covers don't tend to be as good as the original. Not saying this performance wasn't good....but it just doesn't grab you in the same way the original does. It's fairly rare for a cover of a song to be better than the original.....and that was not the case here.
So.....there's my answer. A whole lot of typing about something that to me seemed obvious...….and it SHOULD have been obvious to you, too.
So you think I'm a "hipster", huh?? Yeah....I guess I am....and always have been. :D
I know tons of music inside and out. I've got a great "ear" and "perfect pitch" as well....and I'm also both a good singer and instrumentalist. My grandkids think I'm the coolest Grandma ever. Lots of us hippie/post hippie era kids are tremendously cool.....and "older" even looks good on us. Heck: we INVENTED "COOL". So I'll just have to live with being a "hipster"......'cause TBH: I've been one for decades. Gonna' be one for a few decades more, too. ;-)

I am a stagehand in fresno California.. Sir Paul McCartney came to Savemart center for 2 week rehearsal.in 2017..That dude shredded every single performer ive ever had to work for!!. Paul, you rock!!
As I was listening to this, I thought it sounded a bit strange. I thought it was an alternate version. This is amazing! Great work.
