Hey friend! I’m in a similar situation with you! So as someone who’s currently going through the same thing, I’d just say to keep praying. Obey the Lord, whether He says to wait, or to discuss it, or whatever He says to do. I agree with @cdthompson8472, don’t rush into anything!! Maturing takes time and if people are in a relationship that they’re not mature enough for yet, the whole thing can fall apart. I’m not saying you aren’t mature enough, just saying that if you feel like you aren’t ready or she’s not ready, then don’t push yourselves. If you haven’t already, maybe you could talk to your parents too? That can help a lot. I’ll keep you two in my prayers!! Y’all sound so cute 🥰 (also I might not be the best source for suggestions since I’m going through the same thing lol but those are just some things that help me during this time)
As a fellow 16 year old Christian, I say just take it slow and don’t rush into anything! Remember that if it’s meant to be, God will make it happen. If you guys have the opportunity, talk to some mentors. Praying!
What's your plan for raising your children, financially? Focus on being able to protect and provide, and don't rush into things. Plan put your life WITH her, not by yourself alone. See if she is willing to join under you in your purpose, and that your calling and purpose is aligned with God honoring financial success with regard to protecting and providing for your family, also financially
Most Christian girls are (and should) be talked to about dressing modestly……but, what are our young guys being told about looking at those girls, keeping their eye-gate pure and how to treat all females with respect in every area? Have you done a talk about this topic?
"Do not let your adornment be merely outward ~ arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on expensive apparel ~ rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:3-4
I love that you're going here, since I agree modesty protects women as well as men and I have really intense thoughts about this issue (this feels like the right place to say these things, but be warned still lol). A man commits adultery just for looking at a woman in lust as said in Matthew 5:28. So, not dressing modestly allows a man to have sex with her in his mind, and a woman not modest around multiple men in public subjects herself to the possibility of being part of an orgy in their minds if you think about it. So, because it follows Biblically that checking someone out is sexual intercourse, it's rape if it's without her consent and understandable if it makes her uncomfortable or upset when she gets checked out without being asked if it's okay. Do women or their significant others really want a man or multiple men literally cheating with, raping, or having an orgy with her? That's how it is when checking someone out under the Biblical definition of lust since it's what is in the heart that matters. In addition, if a woman likes the attention of men aside from her husband sexually looking at her, it is something a whore or hooker would want from a Christian perspective. There are lots of sleazy people in the world, so modesty is like locking the door to an expensive car in public since a woman's body is valuable. Would you really go to a bad neighborhood with a Lamborghini and leave the car door unlocked before leaving the car out of sight? Of course not, unless you're a cop using a bait car, but why put your own body in danger if you only have one, unlike the police in the analogy who have multiple cars? In the same way, this world is a bad neighborhood since we're all sinners, so covering up helps repel the wrong kind of people from you and stops good-hearted people from giving in to their impulses. Not dressing modestly distracts from the inside of the person, so it's counterproductive to obtaining the kind of attention a woman or any person truly needs- as a man, I can admit to having been too distracted at times by how a woman looked to have been able to pay close attention to what she was saying. Yes, I needed to work on that and I still do that sometimes to be honest, but it doesn't help women to dress immodestly since it makes it easier for them to be in that situation in the first place. Finally, I have seen women complain about how men act creepy towards them, but they themselves are enabling these men to approach them by dressing immodestly and making flirty poses and facial expressions, whether in their pictures on social media or in person. It's like wondering why you are catching on fire after pouring gasoline on yourself. I don't want to shock people with saying these things, but hopefully it helps people see the gross reality of sin and the protection and life that God's ways bring.
Thank you for your comment! This is a safe space for you, and we completely agree with what you said. You made so many great points. Sadly, a lot of women are deceived by today's culture that dressing provocatively is empowering, which could not be further from the truth. We pray that these conversations will enlighten people's eyes to the truth and that women will start valuing their bodies enough to protect themselves and others from lust. This starts with the women of God learning who God made them to be and men of God supporting women in this. Don't grow weary in speaking truth, friend🙏
@allypoirot Thank you. Much appreciated! This topic is very important and needs to be stressed. Men and women both will benefit by focusing on the inside of people like God does instead of the outside (1 Samuel 16:7), so it's very important for women to be modest and for men to lead women (and encourage themselves) towards modesty.
I was wondering which version of the Bible you are reading from ? Mine is in ESV and worded differently, but I really like how yours was worded and want to write the verse from 1 Timothy down in my journal ! :)
6:38 I don't want to look at the negative light but I disagree with you guys here. As a Christian there is no need to marry someone you are not physically attracted to you (how she looks) Why would I marry someone I am not attracted to? Obviously I also have to take into consideration who they are but both their physical and inner beauty matter and compliment eachother.
An easy way would be to watch this video with her and then talk about it together. It's as simple as, "let me show you this video I saw the other day. I want to know what you think about it." Depending on where she is at in her relationship with the Lord, she could respond a few different ways. It is important to be in relationship with someone who is equally yoked to you. If she disagrees with this concept and is not willing to accept it, then you may want to take a step back and re-evaluate whether or not this is a relationship God would want you to be in.
To be honest, it's the leggings that are the hardest thing for women to understand. And a lot of girls have dated men that don't voice these concerns or don't value modesty, so it becomes even more normalized. I used to struggle with wanting to wear leggings however I wanted until I humbled myself and realized what this attire conveyed. Is she willing to wear a long shirt or jacket with them for extra coverage? Definitely ask God for wisdom and guidance as you navigate this.
Ryan Miller, dudewithgoodnews, made a reel recently about being mindful to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and become servants and slaves of Christ. He gave an example about modesty in the gym, and boy did he touch a soft spot b/c the lovers of the world came in droves to attack him.
Girls used to wear Umbro shorts and tee shirts to the gym, they looked so much better than what we see today. And there were no tattoos all over them either
It's so sad we live in a society today where men are silenced for their perspective. This should not be a controversial topic within the church, but it doesn't help that many women in leadership at churches aren't setting a modest example. A lot of young women assume that if they see (insert popular Christian girl, pastor's wife, worship leader, etc.) wearing a bikini on the beach and then posting it on Instagram for all to see, that they can then do the same. We must have more accountability in the church.
@@allyandgabeI and my wife being Christian in Pakistan really liked the topic you choose to talk and give awareness to modern U.S generation like having boyfriend/Girlfriend, dating before marriage, clothing etc. I always think about this that if I move to U.S how will I handle and overcome the society's impact on my generation.
Hi I was just wondering like I wear a two piece swimsuit that covers my butt and my chest but also cover the vast majority of my stomach so I was wondering what is your opinion on that?
I had some experience with it as a child, and it usually left me feeling confused and afraid. I forgive the parent who punished me this way and don't hold it against them, but I have learned from it. All of my research on it in the past few years has shown it can lead to negative outcomes. I look to God as my example for how to parent. God is a Good Father, who doesn't want His children to suffer. Therefore I don't promote corporal punishment and don't plan to use it with my future children.
@@allyandgabe thank you for sharing your experience. I was raised with corporal punishment as well, pants down type. It left me confused as well. I know it was done out of love, but I always wonder about that biblical aspect of it. Like you, I have forgiven my parents for it. Thank you once again.
@@ElizaStyle-i6g I believe God speaks to each daughter in His family about how they can honor Him in the presenting of their body to those that He wants to impact with the gospel just like He does to His sons. The more we listen the more impact we have
I think skorts are great because they offer added coverage so that you can move freely without exposing yourself. As long as the skort is a reasonable length, you are good to go. This can be different for everyone depending on your height, so be prayerful about this. You can also ask a trusted woman of faith who also values modesty for a second opinion if you need it🫶
@@allyandgabe let each child of God determine in their own mind how God is speaking to them from His word. Modesty is NOT. how close I can look like the world and still be a Christian. Modesty is how can I dress so the world sees me as a child of God
I actually got the length of the short wrong it was just above the knee, I think this is modest, I do a lot of exercises so I wanted something light weight but also doesn’t look inappropriate if you know what I mean. Thanks for clarifying after all you can trick yourself into thinking surten things are okay when their not
Love y’all so much I am 14 btw and I am trying to get closer to god but I have a question I been asking a lot of Christian girlies so maybe you can answer this is it okay to show my stomach/waist like when say that my stomach/waist I show is literally a hand length. Besides that all of the girls at my school wear all of the things you just said besides that no bra one Literally showing their Booty cheeks it not tight but VERY VERY short and I seen the guys paying attention on them and I would never show my butt like that but I want attention that maybe why I show my waist and I love wearing crop top it just fits so well my my outfit not with leggings tho with sweatpants.I AM SO SORRY IT THIS LONG BUT PLSSS ANSWER MY QUESTION PLSSSS I BEEN DYING TO KNOW. I also feel like that is not a distraction so I think it fine?
You would be better off to show the world your bare legs than you would be your stomach and waist because they are just as much a part of your erogenous zones as are your legs but at the same time is a part of the body that others find less attractive than your legs.
Hey sister! Thank you so much for your question! I appreciate your patience! I first want to let you know that I completely understand where you are at with this. It is tough as a Christian girl to live modestly in a culture filled with women who don't dress that way. It can make you feel like you aren't as pretty or interesting because you don't get as much attention as the girls who dress immodest. I want to encourage you not to fight back to those thoughts that are comparing you to others and remind yourself the truth that you are God's masterpiece. It can also be tempting to judge others for not dressing modestly when you are, but something I remind myself is that most women who dress immodestly just don't understand the value of modesty and that I was once just like them. I once dressed in immodest ways because I wanted more attention from men than I was getting, but God gently and piece-by-piece started to convict me about my motivations behind what I was wearing. I was wearing crop tops and tight leggings because I wanted attention and admiration from others that could only truly be satisfied by my relationship with God. And God taught me that true beauty is found in godly character: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. It was hard to make this sacrifice at the start, and I still have my moments where it is difficult, but it has been so worth it. You could maybe try tucking your shirts into your sweatpants so no skin is exposed but it's still a cropped look if you know what I mean. The waist is considered an erogenous area, so I would advise doing what you can to cover it. I really hope this helps! Much love to you sister! Maybe I will make a practical video on how to style modest clothing in cute, flattering ways. Let me know if that would be helpful to you🫶
And when it comes to gym culture, it’s also disturbing the ugly trend of stretching than actually working out. Many of today’s stretching positions look so risqué and vulgar that are clearly sex positions. It’s like getting to the point that now you can pay not for working out, but to only sexualize yourself by contorting into these grotesque sexual positions like a cat in heat. 😂 It wasn’t like this before.
Christian men need to practice modesty too. Both genders can be stumbled by immodesty of the opposite sex. You can ask any handsome young man about this. Modesty is a great Christian virtue for both genders.
We agree👍 Unfortunately it seems that women's fashion in particular has become increasingly immodest and normalized in our current culture, even among many who call themselves Christians. But there are definitely aspects of men's fashion that we can add to the conversation. Thanks for your comment!
Is that moving closer to s3xual immorality or isn't moving further from it? How does it have value in providing financially for one's family, or cultivating Christian values?
Of the couple on these videos, to the woman I hope you won't be self-conscious by me saying that you have a major resemblance to the Olsen twins. You have a lot of the same kind of facial features that they have been having as adults and especially the kind of lips you have look a great deal like theirs. You look like you could be related to them. Any chance that you are? 🙂
I have definitely gotten this before! And we were all created by God, so in that way, we technically are related😂 But I don't know them personally, nor do I have any ties to them as relatives that I know of. I think we just have similar facial features haha
Romans and jews used to dress differently , yet Paul sat and eat with Jews and romans alike... This is to me you just adding your ideas to the texts...

Hi Ally how are you happy Wednesday night to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
Thank you so much!!
@@allyandgabe your welcome sending love to you ❤️
Bravo good advice happy to see young girls are being young ladies again. No tattoos ! Amen 🙏💛
16:10 how is this reasonable it is just essentially painting your self with paint and walking around I would be mortified if someone I know did that
I was wondering which version of the Bible you are reading from ? Mine is in ESV and worded differently, but I really like how yours was worded and want to write the verse from 1 Timothy down in my journal ! :)
I’m reading from the NLT🫶
Amazing video! Modesty is way more attractive
So good!!
I have trouble getting this message across to my girlfriend, any advice for me?
Break up
Maybe you can start off by explaining why modesty is important to you, and why you would want someone who values modesty the same way.
@kye_zoe I have but she says she doesn't see the issue with something like leggings, says it's no different than her wearing jeans
Thoughts on corporal punishment? Were either of you raised with it?
Thank you once again.
a trigger warning before those photos at 11 minutes in, please 😭
Tight clothes and off the shoulder shirts would anyone say that its immodest?
❤
What about a skort? Like mid thing?
I also feel like that is not a distraction so I think it fine?
the more you love God the less you want the attention of a male
You would be better off to show the world your bare legs than you would be your stomach and waist because they are just as much a part of your erogenous zones as are your legs but at the same time is a part of the body that others find less attractive than your legs.
If you have to ask the question you probably shouldn't wear it.
The easiest thing you can do is pick a dress that looks good and respectable but still adequately covers all of the erogenous zones.
Thanks for your comment!
can christians dance ballet?
Jesus doesn't like fake blond hair dye
Your idea of modesty is not precisely the idea that jews had of modesty in the 1st century roman empire...
Explain
Romans and jews used to dress differently , yet Paul sat and eat with Jews and romans alike...
This is to me you just adding your ideas to the texts...
You are adding ideas to the Bible. The Bible does not say a word about modern clothing... precisely cus they did not exist back then.
Then why wear modern clothing that is less modest than what they had back then? Her point proven
@josephlobb2216 define modesty IN the Bible...
That may be speaking about not loving money more than others...
