If you are a basic user, this is a great laptop. I have been using it for more than a year. Great for browsing, word processing. Nice keyboard, Good battery life, fast and upgradable to windows 11 and it is very affordable.
Battery life is about 4-5 hours with light usage. Screen size is ok, keyboard is ok. However this is the weakest processor I've ever seen run windows 10. Can't handle two tabs open. Very slow on windows. On Linux it is much better but I have a Chromebook that cost $75 that runs circles around this machine even with Linux.
I have owned four of these. Long story, not relevant. I'm using one right now, as my main PC. I like them, but here are some issues I've discovered. They are available with an Intel processor or an AMD processor. My advice, go for the AMD model. They are far more stable and less buggy. The Intel models can be somewhat problematic, a lot of games have issues on them. The AMD models are slightly heavier, but have a noticeably better feel to the keyboard build. Also, the image quality can be very grainy on the older production models, though they seem to have replaced them for better ones now. Even on the better screens, picture quality is not brilliant. The sweet spot for the viewing angle is very narrow. Of the four I've owned, one crashed irrecoverably. Two developed broken keys and dead keys. And the one I'm using now, owned for a couple of years but I only recently unboxed and used, seems to have an over sensitive trackpad. I discovered this when videos were pausing without me even touching the computer at all. Resolved by turning the sensitivity setting down to minimum. Having said all this, I do actually like them. They are a good budget option. But the issues are real, and I thought I'd share my experiences so as people are aware of them.
For moderate and slightly beyond photoshop tasks, it should be fine. But it'll start to lag if you're working on very large image files, and get worse if you have other applications open. Particularly if the other apps are intensively draining the resources. Moderate 3D imaging software should run at a tolerable level, but if you're looking to design game environments, definitely not. In a nutshell, at the professional end of things it would not be suitable.
@@agamersdiary1622 I know how it sounds. But the reality is different. I buy them when I see good deal on them, the cheapest I got one was for £109 GBP. I use them as a base for customizing as emulation machines, they can handle up to sixth generation gaming without any problem, other than any caused by the emulator itself. I've owned five now.
Before i got my gaming laptop this was my MAIN for about 4 years and boy it went through a lot and it still did the job right until the end, even if it could barely run after all it went the past 4 years its a good ol' reliable. If you're looking for a sub-long term laptop that fits your budget, go with this one.
Even when Lenovo launches an affordable laptop, they will manage to equally distribute both build quality and specifications in that laptop. Another thing is the charger. Most of the brands sell the old type charger at affordable ranges, but there also Lenovo will take the lead. I am using a Lenovo Ideapad slim 3 laptop which I bought after seeing the review in this channel, and I can say that I made the perfect decision. The laptop is working very smoothly even it have an i3 11th gen processor, and it manages the heat as well. I am obsessed with the quality of Lenovo laptops, and I recommend it to everyone.

It was delivered, went to set it up, and it won't connect to my internet. It shows my connection as available, but it just won't connect so i cant even set it up. I've heard alot of ppl with this issue with Windows 11, and I've tried everything. Any ideas of how to fix it?

I’ve used the laptop since Christmas and it works great. You just have to remove the lock that only allows you to get Window apps. I’m still trying to upgrade the ram and if I do that it’s a great budget laptop.

I know this laptop is meant to be extremely basic. However it will barely copes with the basics. If you can afford to go up to the 3I then do so. In the UK this costs £160 the 3I is 230. The extra £70 is worth it. I own neither but I saw my friend with this and it was useless.

I guess one has regular hard drive but better processor? The intel celeron SSD is $30.00 more than the AMD. Which one would you get?
As a fellow Canadian I feel compelled to help ya out :) Both models offer a SSD (just different wording). Technically the performance variation will be marginal however the N4500 Celeron is a newer generation chip. Its slightly more powerful thanks to its smaller nm count. I'd say for a 30 buck difference the intel version is worth it but it wont change your life if you opt not to get it.
I got the AMD version with a Ryzen 3 3250U & it is only meant to be used in school and play a few light games. It runs C&C 1 Remastered perfect with 60 FPS and highest setting which is perfect for me.
Just bought one for €250 in a black Friday sale for a family member in desperate need of one. The requirements were that it could handle word documents and occasional browsing for school work research. Only downside is that it looks like the RAM is soldered on. For the 4GB I would install a lightweight Linux distro like Mint but unfortunately Microsoft word is needed.

This machine is designed for web browsing and general productivity like word processing. It most likely will not be able to run VSC and if it does it will be a very choppy experience. I would advise getting at least a core i5 with minimum 8gb of ram (16gb if you have the budget).

I bought one without knowing it didnt have a cd- rom cd layer . And i wont use windows . So now ill have to buy a usb with linux mint to change the os on this thing . I should have looked closer .
Sound is terrible,screen is awful,the mouse faulty after a week and does not work,Wifi modem issues,bending plastic .Battery life is good though,does not really get warm. Build quality 3 out of 10.You better off with a tablet!

Unlike the Lenovo model in this video review, the $99 model only has 64gb eMMC and 4 gig memory. And, everything is soldered in - impossible to to do easy DYI upgrades.

Unlike the Lenovo model in this video review, the $99 model only has 64gb eMMC and 4 gig memory. And, everything is soldered in - impossible to to do easy DYI upgrades.
@@SeafairZombies Good info. For $99 im not as worried about upgrading. I got it for my Mom who will use it for youtube and skype. I did pick up the GIGABYTE - G5 MD 15.6" FHD IPS Gaming Laptop - Intel i5-11400H - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti - 512GB SSD at Best Buy for $550 last week and that is easy to upgrade!

This should just cut it but ideally you might want to consider a laptop with 8gb ram to ensure Canva has enough space to work with.

Do NOT buy this laptop, after 5 days of owning it the laptop suffers from heating issues and freezes when even opening the settings app. Looks sleek and nice, but performs worse than a Cyberpunk 2077 on its debut.
