- Creating a sharp, eye catching thumbnail for RUclips videos is important. A good looking thumbnail will catch potential viewers attention and get them to sample your video. It's essential for new Content Creators trying to establish a subscriber base. Despite what anyone else might tell you, there's no rules for thumbnails. Anything goes. If it catches someone's attention then it works. I'm going to walk through building up a thumbnail using GIMP. I'll go step by step and provide reasons why the thumbnails works for me.

Yes, you may need to install Crosstini to allow linux to run, but it will work.

What if it has black lines in the side
The video has black lines or the picture you're using does? You can scale the picture in Gimp. Select the layer with the picture. Select "Layer" from the top menu. Select "Scale Layer". Under "Layer Size" change the size until the black bars are gone. Hope this helps.
How do you get the vid from your mobile to your pc
I just connect my charging cable to the pc and transfer them. If you don't have one that works, you could use google drive. Put the vid in your google drive on your phone. Pull it off google drive on your pc.

Orient your phone into landscape mode (horizontal) and make sure it rotates before starting the screen recording.

I actually record my phone directly to obs on my pc. Takes some hardware, but I might have an answer for you. Most of the usb phone charging cables also transfer data. You should be able to hook it up to your pc that way. If not, save the vid to google drive. Then open google drive on your pc. Hope that helps.
