The MTA's first open gangway train of Kawasaki R211Ts is finally in revenue service! Here's said train (comprised of both soft-shell and hard-shell sets) running on the (C) line between 168th Street and Euclid Avenue.
These trains feature new amenities, such as LED signs on the front and signs showing the color of the route, and the destination of the train in the front and back. They also include LED displays showing the next stops and lights near the doors that change color when the doors are open and closed (green and red). This set also comes with the new features meant to appear on the rest of the fleet - station maps to indicate where the exits / elevators are and signage to indicate what side the doors will open at a station.
Clips were taken onboard the train, and at High Street, 42nd Street - Port Authority Bus Terminal, 145th Street, and 125th Street. Enjoy!
