Your comments about being the base model and a big car does remind me of, during the 1980s at least, my suspicion that some car buys would rather buy a base model large car rather than a higher spec'd smaller model. I remember checking out all the new cars in my street come 1 August 😁

One of Vauxhall’s best models, I had 3 ,and all were great ,had my last one a 2.2 dti CDX. for over 9 years
I own one since 2010, a 2.6 v6 and i will never sell it. Very smooth cruiser.
