Kelly was 100,000,000% correct to check the security guard and that guard shouldn’t be allowed to be at another Cannes event. That was so uncalled for and the security guard knew exactly what she was doing.
Great for Ms. Rowland, she defended herself against a disgusting hater. Black women are no longer going to turn the other cheek for the aforementioned to slap.
I am so glad to see Kelly standing up for herself. France does NOT have good credit with me. I used to believe that the French were more open and understanding to us...but then my mother taught me about Haiti and how they are STILL economically hobbled by France. The way they acted during the Pandemic...making jokes about testing vaccines on Africans, their position on returning African relics, many with religious significance, to their proper home (they said that Africans were NOT CAPABLE of caring for their own treasures), and their disgusting military trespassing in Senegal. Perhaps we need to call out Cannes for their support of WS powers. It's 2024, and I am out of patience with playing nice with these people. As an absolute LOVER of film and art, it makes me so sad that there is no space in which we can simply be grateful for the privilege of sharing our art with the world. Do better, France. After 30+ years I’m glad that Kelly is setting boundaries, I’m happy that she finds her voice. Everyone that comes close to her knows that she’s the nicest, most humble person in the industry. If you look at the video, she was being nice to the lady at first, then she said something to trigger that moment, even the other white lady was a little shocked. People will abuse you for as long as you let them. Bravo Kelly!
I agree however she has to be careful. She wants to get more movie roles, she doesn’t need the negative publicity. I am a little concerned she put her finger up in the lady’s face, you can’t let people make you get out of character.

I didn’t matter if the guard knew who Kelly was or not she should’ve known that Kelly was a celebrity hence that’s why she was there, in an expensive gown and jewelry HINT HINT and she was being photographed. Fumi was right, these guards need to study up on celebrities if they are going to do this job!

I am only 1m55 and 45 kilos and at work, even the tailors with 1m90 fear me. They instantly become nervous and start to attack.
