The most BEAUTIFUL and DETAILED City I have ever built in Cities Skylines!

- In this episode we are focusing on 3 areas: first up we're doing a revamp of the small residential parcel squeezed in between the Port Douglas General Hospital and the parking ramp to said hospital. The initial high-density residential towers didn't look all that good, so based off of some of your suggestions we change things up. Next up, we're detailing up an open public square in the southeastern corner of Downtown, adding benches, trees and planters, and food trucks. After that, we built a new mixed-density area next to the highway and adjacent to the southern part of Downtown. This area is a mix of row houses and newer apartments and old commercial establishments. Finally, we wrap it all up with some detailing of the boardwalk and road/tram network that stretches alongside the waterfront of Port Douglas.

What happens if a washed-up-used-to-be-RUclipsr gathers a bunch of "generic" looking assets (though mostly inspired by Australian / Canadian cityscapes) with the hopes of creating a Cities: Skylines region full of towns and cities that both look realistic and are inspired by Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA, while at the same time don't really replicate any one particular style? No idea, let's find out.
Join me in this Cities: Skylines modded gameplay / let's play / timelapse series as we expand the region, and build new infrastructure, highways, public transit, industrial pockets, NIMBY-neighbourhoods, sprawling suburbs and bustling downtowns. And of course, use tress excessively to cover up any imperfections!

Honestly I can’t believe I’m saying this but the default vanilla name Rosewood actually sounds nice 😂😂obviously we can’t keep that name, I just like it
Rose Beach could be nice too...
@@qnybucks yeah true, that better reflects the area. The word Rose just screams “rich downtown district” 😅
As a black man....
I don't like it.
Hope you understand.
@@phillyzfynest7 I don’t understand, why?
@@phillyzfynest7 why did we need your race?
Love the added markings to the tram lanes. I did notice, however, you have parking allowed on some segments where you have the tram lanes separated with flex posts, so drivers couldn’t access those parking spaces without driving on the tram lane to reach them.
Same here. Minor changes needed, but the rest is awesome, nice build! That POed building substitute is my favorite part of this episode! Fancy place to live
Unreal detail! Just found your channel and can see I am going to have to go back and watch more of your videos. Your game looks so realistic! I have tried for years to get my game to look this real or model like and just haven’t been able to get the perfect look like this with the lighting and shadows and everything.
Thank you for the kind comment Phenixx. Glad you like it! 😊😊😊
Yeah same thing, been trying for years on/off and these modders don't like to share their settings which in my opinion is ridiculous.
The attention to detail on these builds are so awesome, would love to see a lighthouse build at some point !
Your builds make wonder if we need CS:2 at all, because all you build looks so damn nice!
With a city Port Douglas’ size, have you thought about making a dedicated children’s hospital complex? The downtown hospital now will surely not be able to handle the capacity of the ever-growing population. As always, amazing job and so fun to watch!
your PO work with that residential tower @10:00, wow. The work you did was simple but makes such a difference to make that building unique and suitable for its plot. I have to start working with PO now.
Your procedural objects work with that Vancouver building around 11:00 made it look even more like a Vancouver building. Turned out great!!!
Hahaha - thanks! I didn't know it was from Vancouver, although the tint-blue glass facade really does scream "Vancouverism!"
If you do build the marina in the new area maybe you could call it Spruce harbor, kind of as a jab at pine harbor
I have few ideas making it more realistic in my opinion..
- sould be more realistic to add soundbarier to highway.
- 40:53 instead of placing planter it would be more realistic to place some parking and parked cars on sidewalk in that area.
- 43:37 on corner building (one with flat grey roof) across that concrete triangle add like coffee shop and tables on top of it or go on path adding pool to make it scream "big money" building
- on some more tucked areas manually place some cars parked partly on green areas and such, it would make it look more busy and realistic because parking seems to be issue in city because it lacks parking spaces.
- "square" texture, I would maybe change it in direction of making it looks like old grey street bricks - i feel this would go nice with these red paths you have going thru city since it would give similar wibe. Or just keep current one but make it bit darker, because this one now screams too much haha
- on front street, maybe change one side (one closer to beach) parking to green texture and make it like bike line rather than parking.
Okay this is long comment. Thanks for putting up great work I love Coniferia!
Rosewood could be ‘Gold Coast’ like the neighborhood in Chicago. It’s high density and a really nice area right on the lake front.
Hi Ryan - thanks for the suggestion. Actually it's a bit funny, because I'm thinking of building a "Gold Coast" area, which would basically occupy the waterfront area of Rosewood.
geat job, as always… and your episodes are never too long ;-)
I don't understand why this city isn't getting millions of views
Hi! Great job, as usual! The city looks so green. And It will be great to have a school (maybe fancy private) for the residents of Port Douglas.
The music was totally on-point this episode!
You really outdid yourself. This is gorgeous!
Much appreciated Jared!! 😊
No problem, everybody butcher's the name :D Also, it's really cool to see my feedback have an impact on the build.
P. S. As for the name, my friends call me Vajda (pronounced as Vayda), so let's call it Vayda Tower if it's not too brazen of me. :D
Are you polish by any chance? I am practicing my pronunciation of Dzien Dobry - as I work with lots of polish colleagues :-D!
So, what do you want to name this condo tower Vojta? 😊
@@Infrastructurist I'm Czech, actually but you were close. :D Vayda Tower or Vayda Residences, perhaps? Up to you. :)
Amazing details, very nice work
How about an alley or two, that fully loaded with cafes and bakerys, or local dishes, a convenient store, flower kiosk, or any daily small business? :D
This is so gorgeous!! You are the best as always! I would love to live in that city)) It is so green, I like how dense you build it and how it turns out as a transit oriented city!! For the name of the area, try “The Beaches”, this a very wealthy area in Toronto with access to the lake, beautiful promenade and amazingly expensive houses and it’s located away from the DT) And some small suggestions: why don’t you drag dedicated tram lane through the whole downtown area? The reason - this is the only transit people have and should be as reliable and regular as possible, you can just put those bollards along and enough) also, there is parking to the right from the dedicated lane which means that cars need to break the law to get there, suggest removing those. And waiting for some beach to mountain tram connection as it will be a great continuation to your current mass transit as well as a line to docks) Anyways, it turns out to be super cool, thank you for your work!! You made my day😊
Michael
Thank you for the fantastic kindness and input as usual Michael - and good find with the tram-only bollards - they make parking a risky business. I will get that fixed asap!
Your suggestions for extensive tram expansion is noted - either that or a cool bus network, which I have been considering. We definitely need some additions to the public transport infrastructure as the current network isn't extensive enough (and because it is always fun and tricky to work with more public transit!)
@@Infrastructurist Love that! Can’t wait for the episode! Good luck!
Thk u for your work it's really beautiful, you are a great inspiration, me and my citizens are greatful
Awesome work - watched all episodes from the conifera playlist in 10 days. would love if you add an school campus somewhere (port douglas) i would name the park / square something with ocean or water in it. rosewood sounds nice to be honest. keep it up!
Thanks a lot Chrismeister!
In keeping with the Manhattan/New York theme, I think either Hudson Beach or Hudson Point has a nice ring to it for the midtown suburb name
19:50 "Tram Only" would be reversed for drivers on the ground, the first word is always closest to the traffic is coming from. The word Tram would be first... but only a nitpick! This is an amazing city!
Yep I think it's official now : you are the King of Cities Skylines 🔥
I think a pretty cool name for the new area could be something like 'Pine Marina' or 'Pine Wharf' or 'Pine Bayview' :)
Your city looks very walkable but I'm surprised by the amount of cars in the road and also street parking is insane.
*sigh* yeah it is kind of realistic that way though, they are walkable and seem pretty nice but they have a looong way to go before the city can become great.
@@jemsyago7163 yeah your right, I presume he is replicating north America city which were car dependent but are slowly becoming more walkable.
@@doctorjames7273 oh yeah that's definitely what I see with Coniferia. Pine Harbour has an even longer way to go tbh with how large it is. But hey they seem to want to go in the right direction... I hope.
I would live on the top floor where you were looking out at the ocean thankyou.. that was amazing to watch and visit.. thankyou for sharing...
Looking awesome! As an suggestion for the new district area: the name could be Aeneas and it was old warehouse district that went abandoned and was turned into residences and shopping area.
That name sounds kinda cool I guess but it makes very little sense considering every name in the region is a normal English-sounding name… idk about everyone else but it just seems out of place to me
@Mr Neal Rigga i though so too and it's just a suggestion either it's used or something else is picked!
Not to be too greedy with having one of my ideas just implemented, but what about a Europe-inspired neighbourhood? Centred around a square, it would have low-rise but high-density mixed-use buildings (perhaps from the Moder City Centre Pack), cafes and restaurants, art galleries and theatres. The restaurants would offer outdoor on-street dining as is very common over here & hopefully the new district would feel full of life.
awesome work bro that look like a real city
wow it looks so real aamzing
Love the Detailwork!
One little notice - the parking next to the tram line doesn't make too much sense anymore...
You are the Detailing King, sir ;-)
I never knew CS1 had a mod that let you reshape buildings like that! Now I can't wait for someone to make this mod for CS2, all the possibilities...
I think an amusement park next to the beach will be great ! Very attractive for tourists ! Love your work infra ! ; )
Amazing how u fully use the game and all his mods. Adjusting buildings.... wow. One question, i am looking for the toolbar u use, you have more then two rows in your toolbar, how?
Keep up the great work. It is so insperational.
Thank you Jasper! It's this one: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2448994345&searchtext=better+toolbar
@@Infrastructurist Will always be in your debt! Was using it for a long time but never knew there was a right click option to open a menu hahahaha. Thanks!
Finally a new season of my favorite channel 😎😉👍👀🤭😌🔥
I think for the “rosewood” area you should name it after a patreon supporter. For example “name marina” or “name Wharf” 16:49 as that has a premium feel
Thats looks fantastic , did u get the mods by Simtropolis?
Heey, great work. I just wanted to say that in one of the two dedicated tramways you painted in red, not the one in front of the plaza but the other one, i would remove the parking slots cuz cars wouldn't be able to access them.
Great city. Well done.
How can you stand the lag when moving around the screen,?
"Ah you think lag is your ally? You merely adopted the lag. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the +15 fps until I was already a man, by then it was nothing me but blinding!"
What about…. Collier Heights? In my city we have a neighborhood called something similar to it I believe I’d love to see it in yours too.
Thanks! More, more, many more, plz 🤘
Wow Marcel - thank you so much for the super chat 😍
And don't worry, I'll keep creating content! 😊
@@Infrastructurist I like the way you edit your videos. The music choice is excellent as well. Looking forward to the next video, keep up the good work! 😊👍
This looks amazing. I was wondering if you have a steam collection of mods and assets for this? I noticed the link in the description only links to the Load Order Tool
Thank you Lucas. There should be a link to an XML just below the Load Order Tool link. The XML can be used in conjunction with the mod to get all the mods and assets :-)
hey, I haven't seen you that long, but now I wanted to play part 1 again as a transition to CS2 and I found your videos. Awesome how you build!!! You can get a lot of ideas there. I also wanted to try this map, thought it looks so beautiful with the trees and fields, but it is completely bare and only brown and with little grass🤣🤣 . Did you do it all yourself? Is there a video where you can see the beginning of how you start here? You didn't upload it to the Steam Workshop, did you? Keep up the great videos!!
I think that the city of Pearl Harbor lacks parking spaces and sports facilities for young people to exercise. Therefore, it would be better to build a parking garage and on top of it, should be a Soccer field. This approach is being taken because the Mayor does not want to waste too much expensive land that could be used for apartments rather than to build a parking garage and sports facility.
Gutted that you missed out on the Top cities list the other day. You should of been on it (everyone else was :p) Nexy time eh. P.S. after watching you use PO (and 2$20) I've just started to use it.
Thank you for the kind comment Milton!
Happy PO adventures to you!! :D
You are an inspiration.
sorry if i missed it but do you plop the low density commercial cubes on the lower grounds of some of these bigger apartment buildings. some of these places have coffee shops or "mini markets" on the ground floors for the residents or people passing by. i know there are the little restauraunt/cafe areas but maybe more of a grab and go deli type vibe place for those that walk to nearby office ect
Anyone else dig the drum and bass intro music?
you should call the new area waterveiw
Do you plan on extending the beach tram further along the coast as you develop more areas south of Downtown PD?
You should really add some more parking for realism, i dont believe the current amount of streetparking would be able to support nowhere near all the residences.
Good job. What mods are you using for the graphics to look realistic?
Nice video and crazy work done dude. But, sadly the xml from your link is missing :( wanted to load your mods and assets.
hello, first of all very nice city! I have a question about the graphics settings. What theme and LUT are you using, and how exactly do you manage that the shadows aren't too strong. For me, at least one side of the buildings is always completely black, which just doesn't look good. I would be very happy about an answer. Thanks
downtown across the street from the capital building & central park
That is a fantastic location Heidi - right in the center of the region and the capital!
So this is that ultra realistic Cities Skylines 2 game that everyone is talking about! 🤔😂
Nectar Park
Build a huge parking lot and some bus transit.
Love your work dude. I feel like you punish yourself with wall to wall buildings, and every face of each block being perfect! In Australia (I understand the city is Australian/American inspired) each city block has a couple of narrow lane ways between buildings for rear access and services like rubbish. There's always an ugly side to each block too, the ones you wouldn't walk down at night with car park entrance, concrete blank walls with nothing going on. You could include these details, it might help speed up the process.
Port Douglos doesnt have space to do a Suburban sprawl in their city thats why they have to build upwards only.
Hi. May I know which graphic mods you use for this video. Its so awesome.. thanks
Can you explain the settings you used in the different graphic mods?
What mods are using for the textures?
You're the best.
We need some Coniferia merch! #PortDouglas #Trams
I would recommend more parking infrastructure.
Always beautiful work done. BUT I have to criticize one tiny important face for realism. When ever traffic is going both directions on a road the lines or line in the middle of the road is yellow. You have many streets with white lines. White lines mean traffic on both said are going the same direction. Only white dotted line on a one way street. Other than that. You are my favorite cities creator. Keep up the good work.
gorgeous ❤
Wish in cities skylines 2 the cars are like that
Is a graphics mod used in this game? If so, what did you use?
name off the mod that makes you able to edit buildings?
xml file you linked is File not found btw
hi. what kind of programs do You use?
Hey I really love your videos and i just wanna ask has anyone made a brightline train mode yet like the one irl. and also can i get these types of mods on Xbox.
Is this done by how many people connected??
What's the name of those beautiful apartment buildings?
South Douglas Beach
Looks like something ripped from cs2 trailer

I keep stopping myself from detailing knowing my pc wont tacle it after a while :( :p
With all due respect for your amazing techniques and capabilities, I was a bit underwhelmed with the plaza build. I think this is a very prominent space, right between downtown and the beach, which means that some foodtrucks and planters are imho just not cool enough. Before starting to design a plaza one has to think for a reason why it would be an empty lot instead of housing.
I'd like to suggest that the plaza since the founding of Port Douglas has always functioned as its primary market, as before the building of the train bridge it was here that sailors would land with their ships when they came from the mainland. They could buy supplies and sell goods right next to the old harbour that was in the little bay that now has the beach.
With the plaza being historically a market square, you could redesign it as an mostly empty lot, maybe with a cobble stone texture and have it populated by market stands and some food trucks that now mostly cater to the tourists visiting the beach.
In all other aspects: great build as always.
edit: because you said at the end that you need a name for the square I recommend the all time classic - drummroll - Fish market.
First comment! 🫡
Well done!

@@Infrastructurist Duude, your IMT work looks so good. Every beautification you take on is done to the fullest with no detail left untouched. Especially that plaza! I'm amazed, well done! However this area needs parking or public transport. Maybe a metro, since we cannot extend the rail (i think).
As for the name of the new district, I actually think Midtown fits pretty well. The outer districts to this (down the island) can get name names again, like Rosewood.

I was Port Douglas in Real Life. But i was too touristic for me.
I would live in one of the row houses in Upper Brickville on the bike lane. It would ideally be close to a tram stop as I don’t and wouldn’t want to own a car. Although, I would probably go bankrupt in less than 10 seconds if I lived there.
I love the build you have done today, but I noticed that the people parking on the tram roads wouldn’t be able to access their spots due to the bollards you placed along the tram lane.
Ideally, on the waterfront in the downtown. Realistically? As close to the docks in the smallest apartment possible.
At those new buildings facing the new park. Gorgeous view and it feels cozy
imagine in CS 2 you could make this by default without too much efforts
