@@ifishcatfish thank you! I looked at Bellezza prototype range and the only xul available is solid. What is wrong with solid tips? You said solid tips no more...
nothing is wrong with them objectively. I just hate when the blank is stiff but the tip is overbending and you play the fish only with the tip. Also when you jig, or when you hop the weight of dropshot, the tip is flexing slightly and killing the hop and the twitch. I dont know if this is the only reason though.. i think there are more reasons that I FEEL when i fish these rods, but i haven't realized all reasons yet. But I am never buying another solid tip again. It feels like two different blanks, glued together, and u can tell exactly where they are glued. If the Carabus was solid tip i would have kept it. And this rod now, even though so stiff, has such amazing blank that feels like one piece, and i will probably keep it despite being stiffer than what i like. But at the end of the day.. its mainly subjective. I am sure after my review of this rod many people will go and buy the XUL
@@ifishcatfish I know what you mean, many solids do feel like two sticks glued together, however most top quality Japanese rods with solid tips still make sense and I am not convinced either way. The Belezza is more sensitive for sure, during bites and during fighting fish. But the LEP is a better all around rod, good for everything, big guides, 1 piece also parabolic blanks. I am never selling my LEP. This one I still dont know if I will keep. Depends what is more important for you. If you have many rods, and you look for extreme sensitivity, you will prefer the Belezza. If you have no high end ultralights and just look a very light rod that can cast a mile and has a great blank - LEP for sure
Subscriber bought it for me from Japan. The store didn't ship to US. Then the subscriber shipped it to me. Obviously not cheap, as I had to pay shipping from store to his house in Japan, then shipping from there to my house, instead of shipping direct to my house. But that's the way it is with these rods.. It's hard to find a store than ships here..
I love the rod, and when i say it i mean it. Also i am already getting offers to sell the rod when i am done, so no risk. But so far i think i keep it.
I had a certate that had bad drag but that was because I got a bit of water in the drag when I was rinsing it. But I just dried the drag and then it was good again
Out of a reel like that, I would expect a way smoother drag system. You would think the factory could properly assemble the drag stack. Nice video, but it was painful to watch and hear the drag "work ".
I came close to getting the Super Bellezza but decided to go with a different Japanese maker. Great rods though. I'm waiting for your review of the Complex. I'm wanting the same one. Great video bud...

Welcome to Shimano's Quality control🤦♂️, Complex XR is supposed to have the same ultra smooth and consistent drag as the Twinpower FD, but that doesn't mean they will all come like they're supposed too! (even though its usually just an assembly issue there)... The worst is the Vanford, buying that damn reel is like russian roulette, out of 5 Vanfords 1 will have this drag issue 1 will be raspy and borderline rough 1 will be extremely lose/horrible tolerances and 1 will have serious hickups in the oscillation, then finally the last one of the 5 will be like its supposed to be haha, the fishing industry needs to get their stuff together!...And in my experience, Daiwa's quality control is barely any better🤦♂️.
i have said the same thing in the comments - its like a little lottery what you are going to get when u buy online. The complex XR doesn't have the grinding feel in the gears though. Any idea why? Seems like from the new reels the Vanford is the only one with the grinding gears. The Ultegra doesn't have it either.
@@ifishcatfish Quality control, Complex XR and Ultegra have the same body/frame as the Vanford so there shouldn't be a difference in vibration due to anything there, and the internals are all essentially the same between these 3 too, so all I can think of is them slacking off with the Vanford possibly due to the high demand? No real idea unfortunately, but I work in a tackle shop and trust me I hear you. I think I'm gonna go with huge demand, pandemic slowing their ability to meet that demand, thus something has somehow caused the Vanfords quality control to be simply put absolutely horrible for a reel of that price 🤷
I found the reason for the nasty drag, but don't want to spoil it here. Next video.
Is it because design flaw or broken parts?

The sound of that drag sounds like one of those $20 Shakeapeare combos from Walmart.
It does. Not sure who in Shimano approved this.

There is a new 2021 Belezza Prototype. Then i got the softest one that is tube. I will never again buy a solid tip, no matter what.
