I installed a S&B intake kit on my 99’ Sierra with the 4.8L. It improved throttle response a smidge, but I know a good tune would make the most out of it
Make sure whichever one you get has a closed box for the filter so that it actually takes in cold air from the fender or above the grille like the S&B one he installed. My 2001 5.4 has had a K&N intake on it since before I bought the truck, and I found that it was only taking in cold air when the truck got up to speed. At idle the intake air temperature would increase from the ambient air temperature (50-55 degrees I tested it) to around 100 degress in just a few minutes. In other words, in city driving, it's really a hot air intake. In my case, I didn't have a few hundred dollars to spend on a different brand intake, so I retrofitted a stock air filter housing. Just need to Gotts mod the housing for better results.
Haven’t clicked this fast before on a video that’s my bream truck love the way it looks and sound and everything about it can’t wait to see what els you have for this
I just bought a 2019 lariat yesterday didn’t even look under the hood till today and they surprised me with one of these sounds amazing need an exhaust soon
I put the K&N cold air on my 3.5 ecoboost and you can definitely hear it sucking air. You have a beautiful truck though. The F150s definitely have to be modded to look good but when you do they look great.
Heard of OZ as well heard good things from him and ppl don't realize these r the last coyotes that r tunable the next gen can't be tun only by roush or Whipple
@@tristansmirnow850 oz tuning is currently in development for tuning 21 and up, preorders are up on the site. livernois was the first to figure it out.
It’s tunable now, the 21 and 22’s are now tunable. I prefer going with palm beach tune, you will basically get power what you have at the crank to the wheels with their tune(depending on what is done to the truck).
I have a 2021 f150 I just installed a banks monster pedal it made a big difference in gas pedal response if you want to put some pep in your truck check it out you won’t be disappointed I also I installed a Idash which gives you full data on your instrumentation
what cat back exhuast did u install, i installed a roush cat back and im happy how it sounds but at 4- 6k rpm i get a howl... i was thinking maybe air intake ? ive read alot of ppl are not happy with this exhuast... im looking for a solid air intake! are you happy with this, what do u think about roush intake? ive seen bad reviews...
I have a 18 5.0 Rocky Ridge build magna flow exhuast...I scooped up the S&B over the Roush...anyway mine came w a white filter. Did you select something different to get a red filter? Love the look and sound of yours.
Red filter is an oiled filter (won’t collect as many contaminates) white filter is dry just like your regular paper filter that’s included with most stock intakes.
My 2021 STX with the 5.0 might just have to get a cold air intake. Would you recommend it for dusty dirt roads? I frequent dirty roads when towing my bass boat to the lakes I fish.
Question. I don’t know much about the flex fuel f150s but I heard you mention it. So basically if a stock truck is “flex fuel” you can use e85 on it just like that? No tune required?
Clean looking truck for a ford, I have Been following you since baby squat and love your content bro. What rim and tire size are you running, I’ve got a blacked out 17 z71 I’m wanting to stance and like those rims on your truck!
Noice work… thinking about doing this mod on our 2021 XLT sport! MBRP duel Sprayed Bed liner 18” -12 offset TIS rims 295/70/18 Falken AT3W’s Ceramic Coated after color matched OEM black ford grill and tailgate emblems
@@Lamboz0 higher octane content = more power and burns cleaner and I’ve heard and read it has a higher resistance to engine knock. Just do your research behind it. I’ve been running e85 for over a year. Been pretty good. Just burns faster than regular fuel and get less mpg.
All CAIs do is suck money out of your wallet. The stock intake is already the best intake, and tune required intakes, you're getting most of your gains from the tune, not the intake. Cars can only take in so much air before you need forced induction. I've wasted hundreds on CAIs only to realize it was all in the tune. You'll get 5HP tops, and the dyno tests are all bunk, attributing the engine warming up and reducing drivetrain loss to horsepower gain. Drop in filter and be done with it. Save for a tuner. Go through a reputable vendor. There's a reason why these Cold air intake companies don't show you 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.... its because it will be approximately a 0.1 difference, if you're lucky.
Was considering a intake till I read your comment I drive a 22 would you recommend to just get a upgraded filter and slap a tune rather than doing the intakes
This truck build is definitely one of my favorites on RUclips right now. Awesome job so far
You'll definitely notice a difference on E85 just make sure you're close to empty before you fill up
Or get a good flex fuel tune since it’s a NA and a truck. Then it’ll optimize no matter what

Love the truck man, the black wheels with that beautiful blue really pops
What exhaust is that that truck sounds amazing
Making me wanna order a cold air kit😂 always loving the videos!

I can’t believe something so simple can give you so much more power
😂
Do you gotta do a tune with these? Or they just good to go?
Nice headlights, refreshing look from the stock headlights

it was the 21 and up that made it impossible for tuning. i hope you went with oz tuning. by far the best tune ive ever owned. woke my 2018 right up.

What’s the set up on this truck leveling kit on 33s?
The exhaust sounds fantastic
A great addition to the 5.0 😎
Clean setup bro what kind of lift and tires are you rocking bro
Keep us informed for tuning!!
Great job

Leather steering wheel. Makes a simple subtle difference.
E85 makes a big difference in those 5.0 trucks they get nasty

Hi buddy, Any information about tires & rims ?
Definitely can hear the intake! Truck looks good!
Been watching Baby Squat videos all day today😭. That truck needs to come back
One day 💔
The guy who bought already sold it. She’s gone
@@Kennybeachum if he got the vin, he could punch it and find it
@@keontaheri3944 true that
@@Kennybeachum yup, that’s how I found my family’s old 98 4runner after it was totaled
Can you tell us what tuner u went with
You gonna get rid of the cylinder deactivation? I think on the F-150s you can unplug it on the battery
I believe putting it in tow/haul mode deactivates cylinder deactivation, also auto stop/start
S&B is awesome
I did it on my current truck because I loved it on my 2016
Look is awesome
Another great video!! I have some serious plans for my ‘18 with the 2.7 ecoboost… LARRY!!
New camera??
I’m glad you picked this one
Should have went with BANKS, they actually fully run flow tests and a bunch of stuff to fully maximize performance.

That's correct. No mods necessary to use e85, but a tune will maximize the increased octane.
About to be crazy with the tune
Black vinyl wrap on the center of the hood just to where it curves down at the sides would look SO fire.
For sure gonna be the bigger screen for the radio
It already has an 8inch only upgrade would be the 12in display
Things gonna rip with a tune
Why haven’t you done Sportsman Camo covers on this truck?
Did someone crack the PCM encryption or are you looking at the Livernois?
I just dont like how every part is a massive S&B billboard.
Is the s&b or volant better
Take the bottom plastic piece off the front bumper and steps🤤
Love the build. Definitely need to get some mirrors

U should def get 35s on the factory wheels I think it would look good
where did you get your Y exhaust tip??
That’s one loud bird at 5:10 😂
Isn’t the factory one already technically a cold air? It’s literally grabbing air from the very front and top of the hood?
You rub the bumper in reverse?
excited to see the power gain after the tune!!
did you ever see if you gained any mpg?
Do u think your truck is faster than the GMC Denali?
It is
You’ll love the e85 !! That’s all run in my f150 🔥💨
Why does e85 work better? I run premium in my 2019 coyote otherwise I hear preignition knock.

Wishing my F-150 sounded like this it’s an Ecoboost wish I got a 5.0
Anyone know what that humming whistling noise is when he’s getting on it?
Super Unleaded and a tune!? Ou wee! 😆👍
How many miles you have on there now
What company is coming out with tuning? Could I get a link or company name?
All motor labs was doing pre orders for 21+ the other day
So s and b or banks?
I see some new Bilsteins on the truck 😉
Yo l love the content
Sounds like he’s gonna do a starlight headliner
I hope
Link to kit?
Cowl hood?
Keep up the good work 👍.
You need that Whipple
FIRST SO STOKED
a cowl hooooddddd lets go
Should get an Oz tune
You’re making me wanna buy a ford
You should put a 1,000 horsepower in it when you do the tune
Add some headers on that 5.0
I see that this is over a year old but this thing sounds like a jet
I believe that was my first mod
Look into Oz Tuning...
I never liked F-150 till I seen this one
Cowl Hood?
thats what im thinking too, maybe something like the shelby f150 hood to give that CAI some air
Cowl hood?😅
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thats demonic lmao
INSTALL A THROTTLE RESPONSE CONTROLLER
I don't comment much but for the algo's...
cowl hoodddddddd
No placebo effect trust me
I know because before selling my 2016 I removed S&B and instantly noticed the power drop
Like instantly

Great channel but the content is always the same intake wheels tires straight pipes an color match
Performance???
OMG. Those tires are boat anchor.

My f150 pops wheelies.
Pmas is far superior compared to s&b/JLT intakes there a complete trash company compared to pmas(from a performance view)
