Thank you so much for stopping by and watching! 😋 I'm with you, those are my favorite cuisines, and I could basically eat them every week (and often do, along with Tex-Mex, LOL!). @InYour Dreams - Hey Stacy!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please know that those yakitori skewers were delicious! Very rarely do either of us allow ourselves to go back for a second helping, much less one as hearty as the first, but we both did and really just "ate the whole thing", LOL! It was really good! I really liked the breakfast egg rolls because of the crunch from the egg roll wrapper in the air fryer, but Tim liked the sausage/egg/cheese mixture better in a flour tortilla, like a breakfast burrito. Just a taste and texture preference :) Hope you are both well, and your son and new daughter-in-law too. Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

      @Logues Life - Hey Krista! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching... and listening! LOL! Yep, most days I absolutely cannot talk on camera, so there was that little slip in trying to describe chicken livers and gizzards, ha! We are having fun with the Tokyo Olympics and trying a few americanized versions of Japanese food. We did this for the Seoul Olympics back in 2018 and it was fun (more so for Tim, because he was stationed for one year in Korea when he was in the Air Force). I know that what I'm attempting is not overly authentic though, but so far, it's worked really well and all tasted good! There will be a couple more in next Sunday's video, along with my butchering of the pronunciation of the Japanese names for each dish 😂😂😂 Give Carson and Keaton a big smooch for me - can't believe he's already 6 months old!! Hugs to all! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

    What a fun week of food! Your Yakitori looks amazing, prettier than my Japanese food I've tried for Olympics watching, good job. The tots and corn salad look so good too; I'm out of corn I put up in the freezer so time for me to find a replacement to use for that! Your salmon looks amazing but I know Tim loved his sausage. Breakfast egg rolls, how fun and yay for eating out! Go Team USA, the Olympics are one of my favorite things!

You are definitely my inspiration for doing themed food for the host country for the Olympics, so thank you! The corn salad is made from a can of corn, so you can easily get a can of Mexicorn at Walmart to make, or I've even used frozen. I've never tried it with fresh corn! Well done with the yakitori Stacy! It looked very authentic to me! They have yakitori restaurants in Japan and one that we went to unknown to us only served horse and chicken hearts etc. They were very offended when I asked if I could have just normal chicken! Lol They did give me normal chicken though! It's interesting that your sausages always look like frankfurts where our's are made from minced meat. Happy week to you both from Sally, Les and the fur crew!😊♥️♥️

    • @LetsCookYall
      @LetsCookYall  3 года назад +1

      @superbellabeau - Hey Sally! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! Whew! I'm so glad to hear that the yakitori I tried (I'm sure a very "Americanized" recipe) passed muster, LOL! Oh my, if someone told me that my food was from horse or a chicken heart or intestine, I would likely just eat rice and veggies, LOL! I'll have to ask Tim about his favorite local sausage (that he would eat at least weekly, if I would go along with it!) is made from minced meat, but I imagine it is. It is really high in fat and cholesterol, but also highly seasoned and incredibly good. It doesn't taste anything like a hot dog or frankfurter, at least not to me. Hope you and Les are well and will have a great week ahead!! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

      @Lisa Beierling - Hi Lisa! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching! We actually have several really good Greek places near us, even though we are sorely lacking in a lot of other cuisines. This is my favorite of all we have tried, for their gyro meat is so soft and buttery, it just melts in your mouth 💖💜 That's so sad that your place closed and you don't have another good Greek place nearby. Maybe the next time you are out of town, you can find a good one to eat at 💚 Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

      @JuJu Bi - Hey there JuJu! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching and for the lovely comments! How fun, but now I feel awful for you, to watch me butcher Japanese cooking and the pronunciation of the meals or food items, as I'm sure I'm bound to do with my little southern accent and lack of knowledge. I do apologize in advance, I do not mean to offend you or anyone else, but just have fun with cooking some themed food for the host city of the current Olympics :) We'll have a couple more next week, I have them lined up on my menu to try and hope to do them justice!! @@LetsCookYall Don't feel awful AT ALL! I think it's wonderful for you to try different things and especially showing people what you have learned! I've copied many of your recipes! I'm actually Japanese/Chinese American but don't know my Chinese side very much so I made your egg roll recipe a few times! With all cooking I think there isn't one correct way. If you ask 10 people how to make a meatball you will most likely get 10 different recipes, as you yourself find on Google. 😂 I think experimenting with different ingredients is what makes cooking interesting. There is no right or wrong, just different ways of cooking. Keep doing what you do Stacy!! You give me inspiration when I'm looking at chicken breast and am thinking to myself "what should I do with this...?" 👍👍👍

    • @LetsCookYall
      @LetsCookYall  3 года назад +3

      @JuJu Bi - aww, thank you so much for saying all of that! You wouldn't believe the amount of negative, critical and even sometimes downright nasty comments that we receive. Some people think that we're a food network show or something, and should be cooking a certain way and have a certain knowledge. I'm just a girl who likes to cook and loves to try new things out for her very understanding and very adventurous husband, and doing so in my own little kitchen. Sometimes people view these videos and don't realize - we just cook and eat what we like, and it totally may not fit their needs/wants/tastes/budget/etc. We are hoping to share our love of food, each other, our faith, and the spirit that you described - it can be fun and interesting to try something new, maybe something we cook is a reminder of a meal from your childhood or your spouses, or just something you'd like to try. If not, we hope our videos are enjoyable or maybe even a bit entertaining at times, but believe me when I tell you, not everyone enjoys them, LOL! You are so kind though, and I appreciate your feedback and sweet words more than you know, so thank you so SO much!! I'm so glad to hear that any of the food or ideas we are trying at our house is an idea or inspiration for something for you at your house - that is our goal! 💜💖💚💛

      @@LetsCookYall Stacy, Like I said I watch your videos to get inspired because I dislike eating the same things in rotation even though my Hubby (who's not a foodie) would be fine with that. I don't understand people who feel the need to leave anything negative, like you said you are not the Food Network. You do not have 20 people prepping for you, writing your script for you, making sure you have perfect lighting, perfect camera work, perfect editing etc.. These negative type of people should just watch the Food Network. You are doing great. I sure couldn't do what you do even though I cook every night. You and Tim keep doing what you do and don't let any of these type of people discourage you in any way. I thank you for welcoming us into your kitchen, parts of your life and sharing your joy of cooking!!

      I love them both, Paula cooks up to 430 degrees and will hold a 9x9 pan but she’s big. The cosori only goes to 400 but she doesn’t take up as much space, so I keep it out all of the time and bring Paula out for cooking big stuff of baking brownies.

Yes, we quickly realized that our basket style, while it takes up more room than I would like, is not a monstrosity and is totally doable to leave out. @Amanda - Hi Amanda! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching! I think most of the asian restaurants near us are highly westernized or "American-ized" versions of traditional or actual cuisine from Asia. However, I think that's true here too, and I know it was born out of necessity for me to use up the zucchini, and it worked really well with the yakitori and a tiny splash of a bottled teriyaki. I tried it a few weeks ago with hoisin sauce and that did not work well, so I tried something else, and thankfully, it worked much better, LOL! @Kathryn Baker - Hey Kathryn!! Thanks so much for stopping by this week and watching - and for totally making my day to tell me about your Sunday evening ritual. That's awesome and you have absolutely no idea how happy that makes me! We appreciate the support and always, always your kind comments, but that little tidbit just put it over the top for me 😇💜 Sounds like The Taco Bell Rule is a good one for you guys, I love it! And how fun that your twin sister is so close, and you guys can see each other so much, that's wonderful! A gas grill is a really lovely housewarming present and I bet it will get a lot of use. We grill most anything, from regular burgers, hot dogs, chicken and pork chops, to veggies, salmon, corn on the cob, to naan pizza and tortilla pizzas. So fun! Tim is the grill master and he always tells me that like my air fryer, every grill is going to cook a bit different. Some will cook hotter than others, and it's important to "learn" how yours cooks and where the hotter vs cooler spots are. He also said to mention to you that the outside temperature matters a lot too (if its summer, the grill will get hotter and stay hotter than it will if it's colder outside). I always season my salmon (he won't eat it) very simply - a light brush of olive oil, and then kosher salt and cracked black pepper. He then usually puts it on a hot grill, skin side down first, for about 3 minutes per side, for a total of 6 minutes tops. If the fillets are very thin, it will cook even faster. The fish should "give" or move when it's ready to come up and be flipped. It took him a bit to learn to cook mine years ago, but he's got it down pat for me now, LOL! I hope some of that helps, let me know how it goes! OH, and one of my favorite sides on the grill in the summer is a mixture of diced zucchini, diced sweet onion and quartered baby bella mushrooms. I prepare those the same way, a spritz of olive oil and then kosher salt and black pepper, and we put those in a grilling basket of some size or shape and he cooks those as much as we like (he likes them softer and I like them more tender, but I'm ok with them cooking longer, so he just cooks until they are the doneness he prefers). Enjoy!! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

    Hello my sweet friend! Looks like a fun week of yummy recipes. 😋
    That yakitori looks delicious. Never tried that. I eat sushi when I go to Japanese restaurants. The one we go to serves grilledzucchini, mushroom, and onions with their grilled plates....so good.
    You did great because zucchini is perfect with Japanese food.
    One of the many things I enjoy in your videos is how you just roll with the recipes using what you have and you just make it work.
    I am with you Stacy! I would rather have salmon over sausage too. 😊
    Breakfast egg rolls. You can out just about anything in a egg roll or a flour tortilla.
    Gyros are so delicious. The little place we go to serves the best fries with some oregano spice blend on them. Yummy.
    It's hot outside. It's about 8pm and the real feel temo is 102° 😓😓
    Have a fantastic and blessed week. Blessings to you and Tim. ❤🙏

      @Yvette Bennett - Hi Yvette! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching! You are so sweet, and we are definitely having fun with the Tokyo Olympics theme (look for more things in the next video!). I definitely just roll with what I have. It was a long time coming, because when I was first learning to cook, I had no idea how to make substitutions or work out how to change things up to fit our tastes, what I had available or on hand. It's definitely a learning curve involved, at least for me. It's the way I cook though, and since I'm just a simple southern girl, cooking for two in her home kitchen, that's pretty much what you will see here, LOL!! I hope your heat wave has broken, ours is getting better today, after head indexes of 105 or so the last few days. I also wanted to check and see how your friend Paula's family is doing after her loss, if they are recovering and doing better with covid and the lingering effects. We continue to pray for them during their time of grief and illness. Hope you and your brood are well! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

      @@LetsCookYall Hello Stacy. Thanks for the nice reply.
      We sound similar because when I first got married and started cooking, I did not make a recipe unless I had the ingredients. I had no idea how to substitute.
      We have not seen Paula's husband since before when a lot of us got the c-vid. So I have no idea how her husband is doing. Paualas husband is the associate pastor of our church. I do know there is a lot of tension going on within the family and blaming the church for her death. It is sad. I have been praying for restoration for the family and that they would all just come together and let all of the strife go.
      Thank you for praying for them. The pastor and his wife are related to Paula. The pastor's wife is one of Paula's sisters. A lot of the family left the church years ago due to a huge family disagreement. It is sad that people can not just forgive, come together and just love one another during times like this.
      Anyways, this may all be t.m.i. so I apologize if it is. This only brushes the surface of all the family is going through.
      I have no idea if I/we will ever see the associate Pastor again. I just dont know. They didnt have a celebration of life, or anything due to the c-vid.

    Everything looked delicious. I have never eaten Japanese Food either. It looked good. I keep forgetting to get some cotija cheese to try your corn salad. I could eat fresh corn every day in the summer. My favorite is Silver Queen which is a white corn or Peaches and Cream which is a mix of yellow and white corn on the same cob. When we had the farm and planted 1 acre in a garden for all of Mark's family to share those were our favorite varieties to grow. We put about about 8 to 10 rows so it would pollinate well. I miss having our farm and big garden but it was alot of work. When we were both working it was too much. Our house will be paid for in July 2025. Mark will be closer to retiring then. Our plan is to move back out of the city. We are going to purchase 10 acres. We are going to build 2 houses. Our daughter and son in law will build their home and we will build ours. The guys will build one big garage/barn type building to share. That way we both still have our privacy but they are nearby as we get older to help us out. Then when Mark and I are gone they can either sell our home or maybe they might choose to downsize to our smaller house and one of their children might move into theirs. Or they could rent ours as an income supplement.

    I love chkn livers and gizzards and hearts. Grew up with these. No feet plz. But I hear they are fried crispy. My mom is French, and Cherokee , my dad from Mexico so I’ve tried everything it seems. Some of my fav foods are oriental and Mexican. I have a sweet aversion so the French desserts don’t work for me. I never met a sweet I didn't like, whether in food, drink or dessert. I eat chocolate every day of the year, 365 days, I have at least one bite of chocolate. And I drink orange juice every morning instead of coffee, with my oatmeal. Isn't it wonderful how different and unique God created us all to be? Everyone likes something different and fun!! @Debbie Reilly - I am just over the moon to hear that you and your sister are liking the tuna patties! You can comment as often as you like, because it truly makes me happy, LOL!! Poor Tim, he gets "stuck" eating the veggies that his picky wife likes and always buys at the grocery store. I love zucchini and broccoli, whereas he likes peas, butterbeans and turnip greens (I do not!). My favorite way to fix veggies, especially in the summer, is a mix of diced zucchini, onions and mushrooms. We often do them on the grill (I just season with olive oil, salt and pepper) or I do them the same way in my air fryer and on the skillet. I try different seasonings from time to time, and often use just a dab as zucchini is a "spongy" sort of veggie to me and really soaks up seasoning or sauce. If you try with a bottled teriyaki, just go really light at first. I tried a few weeks back with bottled hoisin sauce and we didn't like that version as much, but the teriyaki paired well with the asian flavors. If you have a good all purpose seasoning like a Mrs Dash or a Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute, I would try that too!! Have a great day Debbie 💖💜

    Does that taste like balsamic glaze. I’m thinking I can use my Balsamic glaze, put in some ingreds and get the same taste. Not sure , But Im a cook at home but my imagination lacks. Another question . I don’t have a outside grill. How will these do in my oven, finishing them under my broiler. ?

    • @LetsCookYall
      @LetsCookYall  3 года назад

      @Dizzie Chef - Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching! If you mean the chicken yakitori, then no, it doesn't taste anything like a balsamic sauce or glaze, it is probably closer to a teriyaki taste. So you could likely substitute a store bought bottle of teriyaki sauce if you didn't want to make the sauce yourself (though it uses common pantry ingredients). If you don't have an outdoor grill, then yes, I would definitely try in the oven and finish it off on broil to get the same effect. Hope that helps! PERMANENT SOLUTION to this Sticking Dilemma ...Ka-bobs or even Chicken parts ( if skewered ) will NEVER STICK AGAIN ..... Have TIM go to LOWE's or HOME DEPOT & pick up a couple pieces of either THICK ( 1/8. or 3/32 " ) ALUMINUM
    or STAINLESS STEEL ANGLE - IRON SEVERAL INCHES LONG & AFTER WASHING THEM OFF , PUT THEM ON HIS GRILL TO REST EACH ENDS OF THE KA-BOBS ON , to Grill & Rotate them on until Partially Cooked Enough to NOT STICK BEFORE putting them down on the Grill to get the Charred Grill Mark's that we all love so Much @ Which point it should be safe to SAUCE THE KABOBS SAFELY .... SHOULD ALSO WORK WITH FISH IF YOU USED TWO SKEWERS ..... NO MORE FISH STICKING TO THE GRILL GRATE , YAY..... I JUST HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS .....🤔🤔🤨🤨😏😏😊😁

      @@LetsCookYall Well you are more than welcome for the tip , I know it'll work out ... Yes I do have a Crock Pot , a 6 quart ....Love chicken , SouthWest Quisene , Mexican , Chinese , Thai ....Anything with flavor even Spicy to Hot , though I used to be able to eat a lit match & liked it when I was younger , I can't eat anything quite that Hot or Spicy anymore , but I do still enjoy Spicy/ Hot to a point ... It's just Bland food I'm allergic to lol....
      You know that Angle-iron trick came to me a While back one day sitting in BJ's Deli watching & waiting for the Rotisserie Chicken to get done ... I was thinking about what to get for the grill for the weekend & I thought Chicken parts then immediately shot that down coz of how badly they stick sometimes ...But as I watched the Rotisserie go around i thought HEY !!! That chicken gets beautifully browned & never sticks coz it's on a skewer up off of a steel pan , & gets every bit brown & done without ever touching the grill .... HEY !!!!! This should work for fish too...The fish don't need to sit on the grill to get nicely grilled too...And once the fish is mostly done it could prolly get put down on the grill to get some sear Mark's without sticking now ......
      Sooooo , 2 angle-irons & a handful of skewers ( preferably flat / metal ones with the ring at one end so they'd be easy to flip over ) basically now becomes a miniature Rotisserie .... LOL... I bet you had started thinking this long story had gone off the rails & didn't have a moral .....Just thought how funny it all came about like six degrees of separation ...A couple totally different thoughts get the dots connected to a common denominator......How a chicken not sticking can cause one to think of cold steel & then to put it to use on a heated grill so as not to burn another different chicken ...😅😂🤣
