- I've already shown you guys what happens when things go wrong with an engine, but here's a look at a handful of things we do to bulletproof our engines and ensure things go right.
the last engine i built revs to 6500 an i used alot of lightweight parts even lighten my rods and put ARP rod bolts in them and it revs very an shuts down very quick an i like that sounds that comes with it...😎✌
Hell yeah! I forgot to mention the ultra lightweight flex plate. As you soon as you turn off the ignition this thing stops dead. Makes getting it rolling out of the shop when the motor is cold a chore though
Last engine I built revs 8500 I used a lot of really strong parts, carillo Rods with 7/16 carr rod bolts that torque to 90-100ftlbs to achieve stretch, 1/2" exhaust pushrods, 1/2-7/16 intake pushrods, shaft rockers, titanium valves, 0.770" valve lift ...... no flywheel or flex plate....... 2 3/4 Kinsler IR.... its a usac 410.... it revs pretty quick.....
A stock small block will go 6500 rpm with ease. 😂
@@Jay-fb2lv but will it go to 6500 twice a lap for 600 laps without puking it's guts out?
Good Stuff, thanks for taking us through that!
Had better luck with the Nirto Carb rockers without roller tip , the investment cast of those roller tips aren't very good get hot seen the shatter like glass . Good Videos
Great info. Thanks.
Has anyone experimented with anti-friction coating the inside of the rocker arm pivot area? Maybe try treating the rocker body, pivot ball or both? 🤔🤔🤔
I'm sure someone has. I'm fairly familiar with the nitro-carburizing process from some work I did with heavy machinery a while back. That might be a reasonable candidate.
Well, geez. I reckon i better start over on my mopar lil big block. I'm only gettin 8800 out of it.
WHAT IS CHEVY. AND THOSE HEADS HAVE THE CHAMBERS TO ONE SIDE DONT WAST YOUR TIME.
