Summer of 1995, riding around the Lake in a Geo Tracker, blasting this disc…my sister Graduated from Nursing School that year. They all danced down the aisles to it, as they proceeded to the stage for their degrees❤️
+Kiks' that's not at all the feeling state I get. That just seems like some Facebook meme retardation. This song makes me feel like it has nothing to do with other people and society and that farce
+Yukon It me feel like I'm in the right track. That I should enjoy the moment and find happiness in process and the journey itself rather than use the present as a mean towards happiness.
You know what brought me here? It wasn't Matilda or Ice Age it is the great musicianship of the members of Rusted Root. I have seen them live four times now and they are amazing performers and incredible artists. Enjoy the beautiful music because it doesn't matter where we heard it first it just matters that we are all enjoying this amazing music.
First heard this song as a child, watching Ice Age with my dad. It quickly became our favorite movie to watch together, goofy bastard would mimic Sid. Always made me laugh, still does too. That was 10 or 11 years ago I think. He's gone now, off to the silent choir. But that's okay. I've got songs and memories like these. Thank you, Rusted Root.
When I listen to this song I hear my days in dance class in high school. I hear when I used to express myself and was care-free and happy. I hear determination, endurance, all the life lessons Mrs. G taught us. I feel so nostalgic listening to this, wishing to go back. ):
I can be 4 miles into a 5 mile run, feeling exhausted and dragging legs. Then this song comes on in my earbuds and I take off flying the last mile, doing a weird running-with-arms-flailing-around thing. Love it!!
Ive known this song for years, but I never knew what it was called. I knew all the words and chords, but I didn't know what it was called. Finding it has made me so happy.
will harris Brings back nothing. I have no feeling of nostalgia whatsoever. Barely touched my soul. But good song nonetheless. I doubt anything will touch my soul, as I'm still at my early age of life. If you know what steps in when you're a teen.
16 to 17 years ago or round about I took my daughter to see Jewel in West Palm Beach and Rusted Root opened for her. It was AMAZING! That was the first time we were exposed to their music and I can tell you now they are one of our top top favorites Ever. There for awhile we went to every concert presented in our area which now includes Tampa area. Last time I seen them was in St Pete and took my 70 year old mother. We had a great time!! Some fantastic girls that were so amazingly talented played prior to them...so wish I got their CD. when people say wow...this song brings back good memories...I have a lot with Rusted Root music. Bless Them😘
I love this song. I never heard of it before, neither in a film or elsewhere, since my boyfriend showed it to me. We used to have a long-distance relationship and this is the song that he first showed me when I first got to know him. This is always our song and it reminds us of our dream to one day life in a little hut in south africa on the bay in the woods, just us two :) I love it.
This song just brings back so many memories, always get emotional listening to it for some reason, can always remember it from the end of Matilda when i was younger!:)
I was searching for this track for years! Because it´s not given in the amazon track list of the OST. Now I´m very happy to hear it cause it makes me reminding the old times :)
At my funeral i want everyone to wear white and and have everyone hold balloons and share there best memories. & when there done they will let go of the balloon and let them fly away while this song is playing in the back round on repeat. That's all i want. No sermons, priests or dark thoughts. Just Love
For anyone wondering, this is the early version of the song from the first Album. The version in Ice Age and Matilda was a later version from a different album. You can tell this by the vocal track and the lack of multiple guitars in the intro.
man.... being totally honest but god damn that sounds so great. Driving.... just absolutely peaceful. I lived in the mountains of WV and KY and id just go on drives for a few hours, specially when it was raining. Do wish id had a good buddy in the form of a dog on the road with me... Damn there were 3 or 4 day trips in an expedition... Wasting a 100$ in gas was only worth it when i was really down.
today when i was making pancakes i randomly thought of this song but i couldnt remember where i knew it from or any words to find it then someone posted a video of matilda making pancakes (bc its pancake day) and this song was playing i was like :o
I grew up with these guys, they used to play and sing while i danced around in a diaper lol they are friends with my aunt. Very amazing and gentle and sweet people
I never knew the name of this song but of course I know it from Matilda :) The movie was just on TV again tonight, so I looked it up here :) Thanks a lot for uploading it
and yes I totally agree, this song is about adventure, the happiness and perseverance that goes with it, meeting new people and seeing new places. Friendship that can form and lasting memories, both good and bad!! Awesome tune this is !!

Every time I hear this song I want to go on a road trip. Lol
Arthur Frentzel ikr I wanna travel to this song so hard lol
That's because you've been influenced by advertising.

Ive known this song for years, but I never knew what it was called.
I knew all the words and chords, but I didn't know what it was called. Finding it has made me so happy.
This song is pure happiness
Reminds me of good times in the 90's. What a great decade for music!

_Modern_ _architecture._ _It'll_ _never_ _last._

Manny knows about architecture, but he doesn't know about diapers!
Manny, Sid and Diego carrying the baby
Stonehenge: am I a joke to you?
no words can describe the feeling when i saw this live. you could just feel the positive vibe radiate
This song never fails to put a smile on my face! Tons of childhood memories!
❤❤
It was SO hard to find this song with just the tune and "On my way".

This version is so much better than the second version they made. The flute solo in the middle, the beginning flute, and the passion really add.
I'm here because of ice age and matilda
Same here ;)
matilda! best movie to show your kids somedays :)
Me Too
ilovelegos2000 yep, pretty much LOL

God knows why I love this song. It makes me think of my childhood.

Just picture Paul Rudd with a giant grin and the intro to this song. Perfect Judd Apatow movie ending.
CannaToker420 Judd Apatow is so underrated. Fricken love him.

Let go and let God
I imagine this song in my head every time I think of a time lapse in a movie.
I'm going on a road trip tomorrow and this song popped in to my head , def jamming to this first thing in the morning on the road B)
I feel old and I'm only 24.
I feel you bro I'm turning 24 this year lol
+Chris Smith Love the Phantom avatar! I was 11 when I first saw that movie! :-D Pretty freaky for a little kid, I never forgot it.
It's thanks to RUclips that I found out about it at all. I own the movie now but at first all I did was listen to the music.
Some of the tunes are still listenable but most are dated... Lots of good/funny lines in the movie!!
Shit, you feel old? I just turned 27 a few months ago. :\
thanks...trying forever to find this version from the album I have ;) trully that jungle feeling mixed with hapiness
I can't hear this song without picturing Matilda flipping pancakes
and i without picturing Diego, Sid and Manny
Man I’ve been trying to find this for so long
I remember hearing this song on the radio when I woke up on a road trip with my parents and my brother in South Africa as we pulled up to a steers for breakfast. Ah the good ol days back when SA wasn't an absolute shit hole.

+Blane Whitehouse i feel you blane i miss SA when it was safe and the government wasn't corrupt
Blane Whitehouse and when there was still an apartheid. Ah yes the good ol days
this is old skool for me .. missed it .. thanxxXX ;)
So, who else is playing this at their funeral?
Love this band and this song is my favorite. Saw them with my son and his friends. Great memories
this version sounds different
It is different, specifically the flute parts, but not much else that's obvious to me.
patrick miller yeah I was thinking the same thing
This mix sounds rawer at the beginning. And the instrumentation feels lighter.
The 90's were the best!
90's kids and the kids of today can relate to this. The 90's kids because of the obvious and today's kids because of Ice Age.
This is the first one posting I have seen, that actually has the lyrics right. ;) Thanks for sharing.
Hmm, until someone mentioned it was from Ice Age, I looked in my memory and was like. OMG IT WAS! Matilda and Sid high five.
1 yr ago when my nana left and 5 yrs ago when my grandma left and 6 years ago when my grandpa left his favorite song dedicate this song to them love ya fam above in those stars keep flying above fam God rest their souls😔🙏this song was played as a youngster the best memorie I had with em was dancing to this song with em love ya and I'm getting my life straight I went through so much as a kid and never in a day in life I would think I would say this I may end up joining the US AIRFORCE or joining the SWAT team when I get married and have a kids and I have children I'm gonna pass this song to them and have this song as the song to pass down to my future wife and kid's

If this doesn't remind you of Ice Age, you have issue.
I knew it before Ice Age.

"When I woke" is the name of the album
Jack Hughes Thanks Jack. I was ribbing the uploader because it says "with lyrics" yet there are none...
Oh. Whoops.
The lyrics are in the description, by the way.
Jack Hughes Thanks. I'll check it out.
Just popped in my head after a really long at work
