The zombie dogs not running through that tiny beam of light is what bothers me the most. They were practically passed it already before stopping and running back.
@@ESFDragxnFistEntertainment I mean that is canon to I am Legend, both the novella and the movie. Fun fact:A I am legend sequel is being made that is starring Will Smith and Micheal B. Jordan. The alternate ending of the movie will be used and it's closer to the book and better to then theatrical ending. In the alternate ending Neville sees that the vampires are intelligent so he feels bad for experimenting and hunting them.He realizes that they're terrified of him they saw him as the "boogie man" he was a legend to the vampires which is why the book is called "I am legend" and the alternate ending gets it correctly. But I'm not so sure about the Will Smith part.
@@latviandragon2718 Yeah but that’s how it is in the book. And the new ending they made was just a boring, uncreative, generic, almost bland zombie movie ending. At least this tries to do something different, some more effort was put into it.
I always liked this movie, especially the Alternate (original) ending. Glad to hear that despite what's wrong in this movie that it has more smart zombie moves than I had realized.
The "alternative" ending is actually the true ending, it only got changed because the American test audience wanted the darkseekers to die at the end of the movie. But the true ending is far better
In the scene with Fred the mannequin and the psychotic break, when Fred is in the distance in one of the shots in that scene you can actually see his head move! It's a small but great blink and you'll miss it and it plays into his break so well!
@@alilweeb7684 Nah, New York is home to 8 million people, most of which are either fuckin dead or a Darkseeker so most stores wouldn't have been picked clean based on how many darkseekers were around during the evacuation. He has Dried Food, MRE's, Canned Food. Ya know, shit that lasts a while bud
It may have not been a necessity but why use canned goods that last a LONG time when you can hunt for fresh venison ? canned food would get monotone eventually and a fresh deer could feed him and his dog for a good couple of weeks, saving more precious cans of food.
He had multiple AR/M4 rifles in similar configurations around his home. You can see 2-3 in his armory in addition to the one slung on his shoulder. I don’t think the one in the umbrella stand is the same one left by the station. I always assumed it was one of his multiple other ones he likely acquired as the military in New York dropped from the virus or otherwise abandoned. Almost every rifle issued to the military or at least infantry personnel have the same attachments across the board mounted to the weapon, in a dress right dress uniformed fashion. It’s not a stretch to think that he had multiple rifles in the same if not almost the same setup. Anna also had her own vehicle. Robert’s was left upside down at the pier. She wouldn’t need his vehicle let alone his car keys in order to drive to Vermont. Her vehicle seen at the end is different from any shown with Robert. She just has it similarly equipped, which would probably be a common setup for anyone attempting to survive in that world.
About the rifle. Very true. You are correct. As for the car, considering they discussed how haphazardly she drove up to the house in the panic, I doubt she would've parked far away.
I would agree that her car should have been significantly damaged by Robert’s IEDs if not outright destroyed. Also, I’m not sure Manhattan was overrun in a matter of days from start to finish. I think it’s hinted at through Robert’s recorded tv clips that the virus took a few weeks to mutate in its patients and start causing symptoms to spread through fluid contact. This seemed to slowly start a pandemic that likely had time to cause authorities to post quick bulletins about the rising infected, as well as gas to inflate. It seems that once the virus had begun perfecting its infection process and incubation, and going airborne, is when the city rapidly fell into chaos as most of the population had then become a ticking time bomb. It’s seen in the I Am Legend Awakening comic material, that in Brooklyn, a police officer is still trying to carry out minimal duties among a skeleton crew of first responders about 44 days into the outbreak. I don’t know that Anna actually heard a broadcast bringing her to Vermont, so much as rumors, and a pure reliance on faith in god, much to Robert’s frustration. This would be why he never heard a broadcast himself. I think he says the cure is in “her” blood, near the end when drawing the vial. He had been using his blood before, as hinted in his video diary log, and trying different compounds. It only became successful after Anna inadvertently hinted at lowering the darkseekers core temperature. Sorry to be a technical prude, I just really love I Am Legend and have geeked out over it’s lore for years. I agree with many of your nitpicks throughout the movie, especially about the lack of UV lights in the house (didn’t even think of that till this video 👍), the blood being useless by the time it got to Vermont, and the frag grenade not casing that fireball, unless maybe it somehow ruptured a gas line or maybe reacted with chemicals in the lab.
Also not sure if anyone noticed, the steering wheel in the car Anna was driving at the end was on the right hand side, which indicates that it’s a foreign car (I’m not sure if the steering wheel is on the right hand side of a car in Brazil, but if it is then it’s definitely her car) But yeah, it should’ve gone boom when the other cars were detonated
@@hukuizstudios8481 my only thought about her car surviving, would purely be conjecture and plot armor at best. My thought is maybe she didn’t pull up to Neville’s address perfectly, and was stopped an address or two away before hurriedly getting him inside. My reference for this is when somebody directs me to a house by pointing or just verbally giving me an address, I’m never perfectly right on it. Only ever with GPS lol Also, her car having the wheel on the right side could definitely support her taking it off of that ship she came in from Brazil on. Never noticed that detail, nice. I do remember though, that they likely took Anna’s car out the next day when we see them out and about. So upon returning to his house for the evening, wherever they parked the car would make or break it surviving. Whether she parked really close that time, under ideal conditions, or really far away for whatever reason, we won’t ever really know.
I meant they're slow and easily distracted like zombies. It said in the book he has a light outside his house to distract them. They're not like the typical vampires
@Justin Loveday Yup. It's america. Realistically a single guy in a well populated city which serviced millions in the US should have enough ammunition to supply him for a couple hundred years. They have larger civilian stockpiles of ammunition than most entire countries have for their own militaries.

That trap is way too complicated for them. The movie didn't give us much to show how intelligent they really are, but it did give us enough to see how mentally unstable Neville was becoming.
@@woozema The movie didn't really do a good job portraying the vampires in any way. In the book, the vampires wait outside and try to get females to seduce him into opening the door so they can kill him or call for him to come out. They're just as smart as humans
@@KHANSTER1029 Yeah it the books they're just vampires that look like humans Robert falls in love with 1 of them not knowing she was infected. 8:50 Actually the would stop when Will threw his rank at them. When lower ranked guys get told something they react like that all the time. So they would have reacted like that. I worked with marine and navy officers all the time and you be surprised all the pull they got. Rank can do a lot.
Idk about the complaints about the resources he had, it’s New York City, one of the biggest cities in the world with 8 million people in it and Robert basically had the city to himself, I’d be surprised if Robert didn’t have supplies to spare.
Gas is the only one that he wouldn't have. Solar would've made more sense. A lot of cars would manage to an extent. Edit: Of course gas can last 3 years of stored properly but it can do some serious damge to car engines in the process. I wouldn't trust a Gas Generator powered by old gas. It's a best by date not an expiration day. It can damge your engine the way food can damage your body.
6:30 The traffic blockade makes actual sense here, the people are trying to leave the city. Considering a aircraft carrier is docked in the harbor, the military probably used that to try and evacuate civilians, but they were stopped in the process by the zombies. So, makes more sense than traffic congestion in the middle of the city.
Fun fact: My mother made the Sam dummy. First time I sat down to watch this movie, my mom walks by and points out that she made a dog for this movie and that's how I knew the dog was going to die before Will Smith even showed up on screen.
A couple of years in and this channel is still doing content about zombies and stuff. You should replace your name to wow such zombies. As a zombie game and movie fan, I love it. Keep them coming dude.
22:16 That red tube means it is designed for clotting blood, which sounds worse for preserving blood antibodies since any antibodies are clumped with blood clots. Same with preserving any blood cells.
Fun fact: Lion meat apparently reeks of ammonia. But yeah, the danger means he probably should have shot it. I wouldn't, but also I'd be dead by then. Also if there are deer they can get bacon I guess, but where did they get eggs? Random bird's nests along the way? How were they stored? Is it even the right season for there to be inert bird eggs? And if they have enough for three people, how many birds did that take?
The Lions would never catch the deer in real life. In the wild, lions only catch prey around 25% of the time. In captivity, they never have to hunt for their food. They would starve within two weeks of societal collapse, that is if the lion's at the very least didn't have access to the other confined animals. That would make it easier, but still unlikely.
Isn’t the sound from 0:06 „oh no *cries*“ from Rick from TWD in season 3 when he finds out that Lori died? I had the feeling that I knew the voice and went on to listen to it and it’s like the same exact sound, it’s from s3 ep4 at the end
As far as electricity goes, those treadmills probably serve two purposes. Exercise, and they also probably generate electricity to a battery bank he has setup somewhere. Rain water can be collected on the roof with a little ingenuity (garbage bags draped over empty containers would be enough tbh). Run that through the buildings water supply (usually found on the roof) and you could have water for the entire building and also have it filtered. You could definitely have some basic amenities if you have the knowhow. Him being in the military definitely gives him enough background to McGuyver whatever he might need, especially if he has some other MOS' under his belt.
On a side note, I always liked will smith's writing for this half adaptation. I can 100% accept him chasing deer in a car and freaking out and shooting a mannequin while screaming out of sheer boredom/loneliness. On the other hand Ben cortman was such an easy tie-in for this movie I can't understand why they didn't

With the frag grenade, it's in a lab. The o2 tanks alone would've made an explosion that big. In saying that, it also should've lit up the entire building and turned that hidey hole into an oven like you said. In fact, the other fires and explosions should've turned the whole place into a mini recreation of bikini atoll.
This shows off some good sins, but I take issue with one. Wasn't Dr krippin a prepper? Or at least, he was prepped for food and entertainment. just found this and very glad there is a more serious alternative to for-comedy-sake-only other eww! couple of things i noticed: 1-arsenal by the door sin - as its shown throughout the movie he has guns stashed all over the appartment(in the movie they show 4 places so there must be a lot more), 2 - this potentially evolved darkseeker leader rallied his troops to hunt Will because he had a bad luck to kidnap his loved one (as obvious by him ignoring the sun pain when he stares-memorizes at Will and by watching alternate ending where he carries her out through crowd of seekers)- any other DS and it wouldnt be a problem. Also his dog found this DSs hiding spot so this is perhaps the 1st member of this group Will snatched(which just happened to be a queen of that group - talk about crap luck). I imagine DSs are all over the place and disorganised and this could be the very first group that evolved king DS has united into a tribe 3 - soldiers wouldnt stop and rescan someone because Will pulled rank - you havent served have you? 4 - scarcity of ammo - Will is the only person left in NY so all gun stores are his besides he might know of a military warehouse nearby. with the chaos of evacuation we saw - doubt gun stores were emptied so thats one thing he has more than enough for years 5 - in the finale he draws blood from the (now supposedly cured) queen not his own(and she already had iv line setup from earlier). the cure he made using his own immune blood i am sure( talk about luck of out of all people he was immune so he can find a cure) 6 - Anna and the kid were not hiding in the cupboard in the original finale cut like you assumed - that was a hidden exit leading outside i presume great idea for this series! also love this movie (have it in all formats and editions) and still hoping for IaL2(either prequel like you mentioned those 3 years or following alternate cut where Will survives - although now with Wills bitchslap it will be postponed even more(if ever made)
Ohhh, you have no idea what we have to do just to appease those of higher rank especially an officer. The movie is fairly accurate with that as it happens more often than notz

The scene that mentions the ship from Brazil probably meant the coast near São Paulo as in the Largest city in Brazil in the southeast region of the country and not the one you showed on the video which is on the north of the country and is a very small city. I love your videos!
18:11 Actually, it was shown he had 2 riffles of the same kind in his arsenal, the same arsenal you showed at 5:20 with you did sin, the sin here isn't him having another riffle that looks like the same one, the sin here is not showing he had a third riffle there or making the second riffle magically move to another spot.
Couple of things: 1. The dogs not running through the tiny beam of light, I can kiiiinda understand. Our neighbors across the street had their dogs trained with an electric perimeter collar, and even when the dog wasn't wearing the collar she wouldn't go past the boundary. It wasn't a strong shock but it was still enough. I feel like it may be the same with the infected dogs, even if they're infected. 2. Tbh I know everyone likes the OG ending, but if Darkseekers killed my dog I wouldn't be so sympathetic either lol. I too would probably blow those fuckers and myself to Kingdom come. And Robert's sacrifice doesn't feel forced or cheap either, given everything that's happened in the movie. Edit: 3. To answer the bacon question, the wild boar population (given that boar are invasive) probably exploded even more during the apocalypse so they COULD have access to bacon. Whether they know how to properly butcher a boar is a different question. These are just my opinion though, especially the second one. I know the OG ending is popular but I feel narratively the theater-released ending was well played as well.
On the gas thing, it's possible that he's growing crops to turn into ethanol instead of running everything on gasoline, or even salvaging alcohol from liquor stores and turning it into ethanol in his lab, I'm no chemist but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to turn whisky into something you could run your car on if you had the know-how and the need
2:25 Lion is all muscle, no fat. They would taste TERRIBLE, and supposedly, their meat stinks. Will dodged a bullet and saved some ammo by optibg not to shoot the lion.
First of all it would be impossible for the alpha to know that Will talks to the mannequins or would care and second that he would ever even go to that area or by pass the trap. The second thing that bothered me is when Will is ok the bridge running them over they show there would be no room for the alpha or any other zombie to run other than past where the light is showing unless they jumped in the water. When will brought his dog home they easily would have followed him but only did so when Isabella brought him home?
He's losing it, between setting up manakins to converse with, the driving a shiny sportscar to hunt doesn't seem too much a stretch . . the good gas is . . . maybe their world also found a cure for gas spoilage.

Epic

Anna said they were powdered
The Lions would never catch the deer in real life. In the wild, lions only catch prey around 25% of the time. In captivity, they never have to hunt for their food. They would starve within two weeks of societal collapse, that is if the lion's at the very least didn't have access to the other confined animals. That would make it easier, but still unlikely.
Another thing is: I doubt he'd shoot three lions and even if he did: there's no way he'd haul that deer carcass to the car in time

just found this and very glad there is a more serious alternative to for-comedy-sake-only other eww! couple of things i noticed:
1-arsenal by the door sin - as its shown throughout the movie he has guns stashed all over the appartment(in the movie they show 4 places so there must be a lot more),
2 - this potentially evolved darkseeker leader rallied his troops to hunt Will because he had a bad luck to kidnap his loved one (as obvious by him ignoring the sun pain when he stares-memorizes at Will and by watching alternate ending where he carries her out through crowd of seekers)- any other DS and it wouldnt be a problem. Also his dog found this DSs hiding spot so this is perhaps the 1st member of this group Will snatched(which just happened to be a queen of that group - talk about crap luck). I imagine DSs are all over the place and disorganised and this could be the very first group that evolved king DS has united into a tribe
3 - soldiers wouldnt stop and rescan someone because Will pulled rank - you havent served have you?
4 - scarcity of ammo - Will is the only person left in NY so all gun stores are his besides he might know of a military warehouse nearby. with the chaos of evacuation we saw - doubt gun stores were emptied so thats one thing he has more than enough for years
5 - in the finale he draws blood from the (now supposedly cured) queen not his own(and she already had iv line setup from earlier). the cure he made using his own immune blood i am sure( talk about luck of out of all people he was immune so he can find a cure)
6 - Anna and the kid were not hiding in the cupboard in the original finale cut like you assumed - that was a hidden exit leading outside i presume

Couple of things:
They're from Brazil, they can butcher a pig.
The Bacon, he says he was saving it for a special occasion in the movie.

We do have a thing for that
poor doggo, I hate movies that do this :( I just eventually realized that it isn't a trope I care for so I avoid movies that kill animals. My family tried to watch Marley and me and we were all in tears, realized nobody was having fun, and switched to something much more fun lol.
To be fair,Deers don’t seem to care if a car is driving full speed at them so maybe he thought that trick would work
14:14 Dr.Nevel told people to meet him there and was playing golf on the ship waiting for people to show up. She explained that they were waiting for dr nevell who didn't show up as he was trapped and going through depression, they were waiting for him. Why they didn't appear when he was setting up the decoy well survivor instincts
"KEEP SAM OUT YOUR -FUCKING- MOUTH!!! *YES."*
there's actually a deleted scene that explains the car thing, he had just stole it from a dealership, it was a joy ride, it wasn't for him to hunt in, him going after the deer was just for fun
10:20, nope! Ammunition is not scarce in this movie he's the only one in new york and all of the police stations and the national guard base there,he can waste as many rounds as he likes
I’ve always said that the best zombie survival game would be one that blends The Division map with elements from the Last of Us or from this movie like scavenging buildings and what not. Too sad that Ubisoft has never though of making a Division Zombie spin-off but did so with R6…
