Very nice ride and review Dickie. Thank you for allowing us to join you on your little adventure into the beautiful countryside that surrounds you. See you on the next one.
Good Morning Dickie , Brilliant review of the super meteor 650 , a very good friend of mine had the yamaha xs 650 us custom model back in the day , looking forward to your next ride out tbh as your video's are getting better with each one you do , so as always take care & ride safe
I bought a new 2022 Interceptor a few days ago. I’m 74 and the Meteor looks appealing, I might consider one when I get old. Also I bought a new Yamaha 650 back around 1975. Mine was a standard bike possibly an XT or something like that, I can’t remember.
Hi Blackdog… The interceptor is a lovely bike and would of been my choice from that model platform.. Mind you the shotgun 650 will be hitting the dealerships imminently which is a interesting twist on both interceptor and meteor..With a few tweeks I’d probably go for that one.. They’re testing it all over RUclips at the moment..Reckon your Yam was probably an XS2 …. Thanks for watching my stuff and Take care 👍
Great review ! Interesting story about the stable block , sent me on a google search ,it’s in the Currahee military museum in Toccoa GA..maybe I’ll get to visit some day. Thanks Dickie .
Hi Tom.. I am planning a more in-depth vlog on Easy Company of the 506th.. Aldbourne where they lived for a while…there training grounds around here.. and some of the airfields they used..Finishing off at Upottery Airfield in Devon where they took off for the D-Day drop zone…Thanks Tom 👍ATB
That looks like a write little beefcake, i like everything royal enfield are making, great bikes and they all seem to run and ride realy well, cheers for showing it to us.
Hi Dickie . i have been looking at the Meteor lovley bike . I am now 64 and have ridden everything at this point but i think that the whole Enfield range is great value for money . Well built and with a 3 year warranty you cant go wrong . The only issue that i have found is the re sale value is very poor so it would have to be a keeper . 👍👍👍👍
The build quality is right up there.. I agree with you with resale prices.. Watch what will happen with the 411s when the new 450 Himi hits the showrooms …👍ATB
As someone who had the xs250se and the xs650se, I always reckoned back then (early eighties) if I could have had the copyright on the xs650 I would have done what Enfield are doing now. Cafe racer, standard bike , cruiser, tourer and off road all based on the same engine & chassis. Obviously still waiting on an off road version of the interceptor. Agree the USD front suspension would probably have suited the Continental more the the Super Meteor. Another new sub, over from Sandy’s channel. 😉
Yep.. The XS650 is a lovely engine..Don’t think they’d get through emissions nowadays as a current motor.. I’m waiting for the interceptor based street scrambler as well….That’ll be the icing on the cake I reckon..👍ATB
Looks wise it's another bike keying into the US market, definitely prefer the the GT and Interceptor for styling. Not a fan of those circular controls by the grips either! It seems to ride along nicely though. With a screen it'd make a great tourer.
The Cruiser market has been with us along time now … I really like the looks of the interceptor and the engine is a peach.. But if I was going to do a lot of touring I think I’d opt for the Super Meteor and maybe change it a little to suit my personal taste…👍
Good review Dickie. Really interesting to see this. Forks, you're dead right.. flip em back. and controls on the front bar... wow.. on a cheap food blender fine. Need better switchgear on a bike. All in all seems a good solid, cheap base for customizing. Bit of brass in amongst that black colour scheme might lift her a bit. Have you managed to get a go on the 450 himalayan yet?
I agree with you.. You could play with it and have a great looking bike with that great motor.. I’d put 2 inches of stretch on the swing arm 🪓😄… The 450s aren’t in the dealerships yet but I’ve discussed doing a head to head with my 411.. 👍
I know Eddie.… It was crap .. I’m going to have to buy some decent mic’s.. It’s a learning curve at the moment..What works and what doesn’t work and where to put the dam things 😄👍
You got it.. Tony Hall .. Very talented chap..If you stroked those motors out you’d get a tad over 1000cc..Very popular in Sidecar motocross.. That’s where the development started..Sadly Tony Passed away a good few years ago now…👍
Same as.. I used to stop my truck though 😄….First met Tony when he lived at Horndean in Hampshire and worked out of his shed.. The Bike world lost another great talent when he passed.. Very sad..👍
Great vid by the way . My husband has a interceptor with a watsonian chair . His K100 was getting too heavy . Loves the Enfield. Me , I'll stick with me Africa Twin !
Nice review, did you find you suffered with lower back pain? The reason I ask is that I was talking to an owner of the bike and he stated he had to change the seat as the standard seat put strain on the base of his spine. I was due to have a test ride on one but the recent bad weather has put paid to my ride.
Hi Dave…Didn’t have a problem..The seat was a bit on the firm side to be honest but seemed comfortable enough.. The handle bars were set in the right place for me as well … I’m about 6ft in height..👍
@@DickieMintCycles Thanks Dickie, I'll have to get my test ride sorted and try it for myself. I'm a similar height to you and found the Interceptor much too cramped.

Fitted a Fuel Booster Plug on my Euro 4 ... It ran too rich in cold weather....
Very interesting Dickie I like the sound of it a nice little cruising bike👍

I enjoyed that, even though I'm too short to ride 99.9% of bikes 😅 I know these local roads well, aren't we lucky?
What’s the .1% then Lynda 😄….There’s always a way to lower a motorcycle so it fits your requirements 🙂👍

Nice but that off set speedo is not to my liking. Also 40 kg heavier than my old 1961 T120R Bonneville.
The T120R ❤️❤️.. Id of preferred a nice single analogue centrally mounted..Don’t think the inverted forks suited it either…👍
