I was a very innocent circa fourth grade girl when these videos came out, so funny to watch these through your eyes now!! Oh, beautiful George. Still a few more Wham! videos for you to check out, but maybe add to that Deon Estus; "Heaven Help me" that came out in the late 80s. He was their bass player and you see him quite a bit in "I'm your man". Such a good song and George does background vocals 💞
You’ve Made My Day! The band Wham is like the word wham….it doesn’t mean much and yet gets the point across in a fun way. On a side note, Dion Estes, the bass player for both Wham and G.M. passed away recently. If you get the chance, you should react to Heaven Help Me by Dion with GM backing vocals.
I was a huge Wham fan when I was young teenager and had all their albums. I listened to them over and over and knew all the words to their songs, some I still remember.
WHAM RAP Wham's first single and was reworked for later releases - specifically the lyrics are completely different. But man ... listen to the extended version from 'The Final' album, it's an absolute BANGER. Also from the same album listen to BattleStations, very much a leadup to George's solo career.
Hey there Pancake! Glad to see you enjoyed Wham! The background vocalists Pepsi and Shirley and their bassist, Deon Estus had come out with albums of their own. "Heartache" from Pepsi and Shirley. "Heaven Help Me" from Deon Estus who unfortunately recently passed away. Their albums weren't successful in the US but those 2 singles are worth a listen. Enjoy! 🎶
Thank-you for doing this video! To me, Wham! was what the 80's were all about! Genuine simple fun, 2 good-looking guys, and you could totally dance to their music!
These songs make me such a great mood! Thanks for your video ♥ George is just adorable in the "Wake Me Up" video and so incredibly sexy in "I’m Your Man" 😍😍 And as for "Bad Boys" and "Wham! Rap" I can definitely say that his legs are just made for blue skinny jeans 🔥
George and Andy were really good since the beginning of their career, especially George, who became one of the greatest performer and songwriter in his solo career. They were 21 in these days and The Marquee was a very famous club in London in which all '80 musicians played. The chorists, Pepsie & Shirlie recorded one or two hits and the blonde one, Shirlie, is Martin Kemp's wife (Spandau Ballet bassist player). London music scene in these days was incredible and I remember I desired to live there in the '80 (I'm italian). Good reaction ❤
Love your videos!!! George has been and will always be my idol!! I have loved him since I was 13 and saw the Wake Me Up video. I am 50 now. He was a beautiful man in every way. Of course he was an amazing singer. Producer. Arranger. But he was also just an amazing human. Gave so much to charity. I wish he was still here .
Lmao my whole room was covered with wham! Posters when I was a little kid. I still love and miss George so much. Ps I had a ' choose life' tshirt lol. Pps they were 20 in wham rap lol
Love This! I'm Your Man is definitely my favorite WHAM song. Could you do Wham in China Live. The song is called Blue. George's live vocals are amazing as usual.
In case you didn't know the chronological order of the music videos are June 16th 1982 Wham Rap!, May 2nd 1983 Bad Boys, May 14th 1984 Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and November 11th 1985 I'm Your Man. There are more music videos from them. I'll try to mention them in the comment section.
The WHAM RAP was their first single and had been performing it in local discos. According to RIDGELY ( George Andrew and another schoolmate became friends and musical collaborators in high school) they planned early on to become big-time pop stars. I guess they had the pulse of the British youth because very shortly the press decended on them and their records went to no 1. THIS WAS HOW YOU BECAME A FAMOUS POP GROUP in those days. I've never seen anything quite like WHAM. Kudos on your reviews and comments. The videography is hilarious and gets your attention at the same time. You didn't have to be a teen to enjoy the vibe WHAM projected. I think the game surprised them as well.
Have you already listened to (I Can’t remember) A Different Corner Father Figure Praying For Time One More Try Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me Jesus To A Child Kissing A Fool If you haven’t.. these are some of his best works, and will show you much softer and passionate side of George where his voice really shines. George was such a massive Queen/Freddie Mercury fan, and the inspiration, it really shows in his music. Gone too soon, Rest In Peace, Mr. George Michael.
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude That one is definitely worth a listen. It’s one of my favorites, I’ve sung it many times, both at karaoke and live with only my guitar to accompany my voice, and it’s just a good song. Lots of long notes held with lingering vibrato, saturated with that delicious reverb and delay that we know him for.
It was so much fun watching you explore the iconic music of WHAM! and their videos for the first time. WHAM! the documentary on NETFLIX is excellent if you haven't already seen it. I was really thrilled to see how you immediately picked up on the amazing production of these songs - the rhythms, the harmonies, the infusion of sax at precise moments - along with zeroing in on the cultural and fashion statements being made in their videos. Each and every one of them is a time capsule of the early 80s! Very perceptive. I don't think George or Andrew ever got enough credit for the amazing production of their music, let alone the value of their song-writing genius. BTW I believe both boys were 19 when "Wham Rap - Enjoy What You Do!" - their debut single - came out. WHAM!'s music remains timeless, classic, ageless and a pure joy to listen to all these years later. They deserve to be heard and celebrated for generations to come. Thank you for sharing! 💖💖💖
hi, i was hoping you'd do a Wham" session. The first demo tape Geroge pitched to a record company consisted of "wham"-rap and fragments of "Careless Whisper" and "Club Tropicana". Two weeks later came the rejection.
There is another version of the Wham rap that is even better. They look the cutest on the "Club Tropicana" video. If you liked "Bad boys" check out "Young Guns"
'I'm your man' Oh god, if only, but it wouldn't have lasted an English summer, PMD! He'd be walking the woods at night, in ultra posh Hampstead, N. London let's face it! Looking for 'snow' or....
Boi I just KNOW everyone watching this video was smiling. If there isn't absolute CRACK in their songs- It's literally just PURE serotonin wrapped up in music istg
FABULOUS! I had a crappy day today and this was just what I needed to lift my spirits. You gotta do a part two. There is so much more young Wham! to enjoy. I gotta say, I thought the shorts George was wearing in the Wake Me Up vid would get a special mention. He looked so hot in them and had great legs. I swear back in the day we had no idea he was gay but when you look back now, I guess it's easier to imagine. The vids were camp fun, but much of the music/vids in the 80s was. On a serious(ish) note, before George came out, he was dating a lady called Pat. She's the black woman with the plaits in the Wake Me Up vid. As a mixed race kid growing up in a still very prejudiced time, I cannot tell you how much I loved finding out he had a black girlfriend who wasn't stick thin - even if she was possibly a beard. As you can tell, George was my idol growing up. I adored him and still do. Thanks SO much for doing this special on Wham! Loved it and loved your reaction.
I am sending you my best regards. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your memories!! Seems like George's ability to make people smile is timeless. That said, there will ABSOLUTELY be an Episode 2. 🙂♥️
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude I just checked your history and saw you've seen most of them already. Other suggestions are Edge Of Heaven, Where Did Your Heart Go, Young Guns Go For It (from the Bad Boys phase so you should love it) and Last Christmas. By the way, depending on when Bad Boys was released, George was either 19 or 20.
Two more wham songs you will love. One of them you may have heard every Christmas and didn't even know it. I liiiiive for the video/song for EVERYTHING SHE WANTS. And the other one is LAST CHRISTMAS. That song has been redone so many horrible times. But nothing beats out the original. So glad you are enjoying Wham! They had so little time together, but still made a pop culture impact. I'd say that it was around the time when CARELESS WHISPERS came out, that the media started raising the question of what does Andrew really add to the duo, when George can do it without him." That's when things shifted. Next thing we knew, they published a statement that the duo was breaking up, but on good terms...and that George was going solo. Andrew has admitted, so long ago, that his heart wasn't in it anymore. He sort of dropped off for the quiet life. NEW EDIT: I found your reaction to EVERYTHING SHE WANTS. I can't believe I didn't catch that one. And it's my favorite song @ no. 1 on my top 3 Wham! songs. And as I commented in that video reaction, that I just found. You looked so Technicolor. Just beautiful. 🤗
I love the sort of subliminal flashes on "I'm Your Man". Six, nine, six, nine...pretty sure I saw sex in there too. 😆 I haven't seen this in so long. I probably still have it on VHS.
George was, is, and will continue to be my first love.. I think the whole entire world was in love with him. What a Heartbreaker... gone too soon, RIP GEORGE 💕💕💕
Wham! Rap and Bad Boys were when George & Andy were 18. I was lucky enough to see George live twice. He was probably the most important performer in my life for over half my life, and his death was devastating in 2016. But I'm glad he's finding a new audience. It's nice to see some of this stuff coming up. They were very, very campy and I think George kind of regretted that later because he had to sue the record company for the right to make the music he wanted to make. It wound up depriving us of a lot of music for a few years. During the lawsuit, George did a tour in which he refused to play any of his own music because he didn't want to make the record company any money -- so all he did was cover songs for the whole concert, stuff like Lady Marmelade and Stevie's Superstition and Elton John, etc. I was a very lucky teenaged girl and got to see that concert live. Then I saw him again around 2011 or so, when he was a very different person onstage but still wildly fun to see. *** Just a technical note on your stuff: It would be great if you could change the mix level for your voice input versus the music audio -- right now, you're drowning out the music and it's kinda disorienting when watching it. I like that you raise the voice mix a bit, but it's too out of balance right now. Tweak it a bit and it'll be great. It's really nice to hear your interjections, though. It sounds like you talking is 80% of the volume versus 20% for the music when it should be 60-40/50-50 or such, at least. (First time watching you! I''ve queued a couple more.)
I loved wham … still do. But this looked like the late 80’s or early 90’s locking back on the 50’s and trying to straighten them out. I don’t remember this one but George M.did most of the writing and I’ll listen to anything he did. It was always the words first for me. And I taught my daughter that with her choosing music. George wasn’t always sex symbol. He was spiritual and it came out in the music. He had his charities and went to hospital to engage with the sick patient. His and Princes labels messed with them and stole their written music. Love George.
The song Bad Boys was a commissioned work and ordered by the record company. George did not like the song. He also didn't like the image of the band in the early days. Later in his solo career he mostly played only Everything She Wants at concerts. Sometimes also Freedom, I'm Your Man or The Edge Of Heaven.
There are other songs by Wham! that are worth listening to. For example Where Did Your Heart Go?, A Different Corner his second solo single and of course Last Christmas!
Back then it was always Duran Duran vs Wham and I was and will always be firmly in Duran Duran’s camp BUT, No one has this incredible voice of the beautiful George Michael. And who says you couldn’t like both. It was feel good music but a tad too boppy for me. However when he went solo, I was more invested in the song writing etc… As for the rap, uuummm NO!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am from Arabia and big fan of George Michael since he was in Wham! Very talented writer and composer…you missed great songs such as Different Corner, Careless Whisper, Edge of Heaven, where dis your heart go?, and Club Tropicana
Yup. Wake me up before you go go and jitterbug. That was my Wham song I suppose you could say. I tried. I really did try to jitterbug. I was 10. I sucked at it. But that was a must to that song!

We were ready, all good to go, but dad had other plans... Scarred for life🤣
George and Andrew were just 19 when Wham Rap was released; George was 18 when he wrote it. Only a teenager could have advocated choosing to sign on the dole as a way of life! FYI, the dole is a term for unemployment benefit and the DHSS was the government department for health and social security. I was a teenager then and didn't take the song seriously, in fact I thought that it was poking fun at that mindset.
About those short-shorts in Wake Me Up, growing up and even through college those were just referred to as shorts. (Older men wore Bermuda shorts which were more modest, only 2-3 inches above the knee!). Then in the 90's fashion suddenly dictated a drastic change in men's shorts to long and baggy, which at first looked totally ridiculous and laughable. But within a few years the shorter shorts disappeared from the stores. Glad the fashion is finally going back in reverse!
Aretha Franklin’s song Freeway Of Love sounds so much like I’m Your Man, same sound and instrumentation. Since they did a duo together, George had to have produced that song for her. They’re too similar to just be a coincidence.
Just think George went on to become one of the most loved stars and songwriters of our lifetime. Genius in the making. This is just fun. More George Michael Please!! Thank you.💕

OMG YES I've been waiting for the Bad Boys reaction (well, all of them, but particularly that one).
The wait is over! Thank you for watching! 😊
Good to see some Wham reactions. Still miss George and RIP Bassist Deon Estus...
Thank you for watching! 😊❤️
Thank you so much for watching!
I love that song so much.
Oh my god that song with dion Estes is amazing
Last Christimas is the first song that pops in my head when thinking about this group. Lol
I was a huge Wham fan when I was young teenager and had all their albums. I listened to them over and over and knew all the words to their songs, some I still remember.
Please make a part 2..... this was fun☝️
Sure thing! Thanks for watching. 😊
WHAM RAP Wham's first single and was reworked for later releases - specifically the lyrics are completely different. But man ... listen to the extended version from 'The Final' album, it's an absolute BANGER. Also from the same album listen to BattleStations, very much a leadup to George's solo career.
I'm in a good mood too now. The combo of talent, beats, colour, dance and cheese, adds up to FUN! Thank you for this.
Thank you for watching! 😊
You should do Edge of Heaven - such a fun farewell song for the band!
These songs make me such a great mood! Thanks for your video ♥
George is just adorable in the "Wake Me Up" video and so incredibly sexy in "I’m Your Man" 😍😍 And as for "Bad Boys" and "Wham! Rap" I can definitely say that his legs are just made for blue skinny jeans 🔥
I share your sentiments! Thank you for watching. 😊
Such fun! Thank you for lifting my spirits with these fantastic videos from when I was in my 20's.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching. 😊
Thank you for watching!
Thank you!
Perfect blend of music and vocals

I love this version of wham wrap better
The Edge Of Heaven, Careless Whisper, Last Christmas, Credit Card Baby and Everything She Wants are all Wham bangers worth checking out!
You would look great in finger-less gloves! Loved your reaction. Your humor is a joy 😁🤩✨!
Thank you!!
Yeesss!! Wham really did help popularize neon colors and fingerless gloves with this video.❤️
The 2nd song is one of my favorites. My other is EVERYTHING SHE WANTS.
Thank you for this! I love Wham!
Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for the reaction collection!!! You're awesome!!! WHAM ROCKS!!!!
The WHAM RAP was their first single and had been performing it in local discos. According to RIDGELY ( George Andrew and another schoolmate became friends and musical collaborators in high school) they planned early on to become big-time pop stars. I guess they had the pulse of the British youth because very shortly
the press decended on them and their records went to no 1.
Thank you so much for watching!
Have you already listened to (I Can’t remember)
A Different Corner
Father Figure
Praying For Time
One More Try
Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me
Jesus To A Child
Kissing A Fool
If you haven’t.. these are some of his best works, and will show you much softer and passionate side of George where his voice really shines.
George was such a massive Queen/Freddie Mercury fan, and the inspiration, it really shows in his music.
Gone too soon, Rest In Peace, Mr. George Michael.
I’ve covered all of those on the channel except “A Different Corner” 😊
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude
That one is definitely worth a listen.
He just loves to dance!!!
the eighties were FUN!
George Michael--scary talented. He could have legitimately taken over in Queen.
Great Reaction, Bryson! Next bunch are 'Club Tropicana' Everything She Wants and Freedom
I’ve already reacted to all 3 of those! You can find them in my George Michael playlist. 😊❤️
hi, i was hoping you'd do a Wham" session. The first demo tape Geroge pitched to a record company consisted of "wham"-rap and fragments of "Careless Whisper" and "Club Tropicana". Two weeks later came the rejection.
Thank you for watching!
Okay now watch Edge Of Heaven by Wham
Love, Love, Love it!!!........ Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Wham's back up singers Pepsi and Shirlie also had a hit song in the 80's with Heartache ruclips.net/video/KiAM8Cnbi7A/видео.html
Boi I just KNOW everyone watching this video was smiling. If there isn't absolute CRACK in their songs- It's literally just PURE serotonin wrapped up in music istg
George showed real maturity with "Careless Whisper" and."A Different Corner", his future solo career was no surprise.
As a young gun myself in the 80s I really loved Wham! and still listen to then now.
Thank you for watching! 😊
I love the sort of subliminal flashes on "I'm Your Man". Six, nine, six, nine...pretty sure I saw sex in there too. 😆 I haven't seen this in so long. I probably still have it on VHS.
Speaking of the '80s could you do a Culture Club selection. It's a miracle, Victims, War Song and Move Away.
George Michael...the hottest tambourine shaker to walk this earth :))
***
Just a technical note on your stuff: It would be great if you could change the mix level for your voice input versus the music audio -- right now, you're drowning out the music and it's kinda disorienting when watching it.
I strongly recommend you watch/react to wham club Tropicana
😉
ruclips.net/video/lMH_AdLaxPI/видео.html 😊
The song Bad Boys was a commissioned work and ordered by the record company. George did not like the song. He also didn't like the image of the band in the early days. Later in his solo career he mostly played only Everything She Wants at concerts. Sometimes also Freedom, I'm Your Man or The Edge Of Heaven.
There are other songs by Wham! that are worth listening to. For example Where Did Your Heart Go?, A Different Corner his second solo single and of course Last Christmas!
yes ive been waiting for this!!
😊❤️
Back then it was always Duran Duran vs Wham and I was and will always be firmly in Duran Duran’s camp BUT, No one has this incredible voice of the beautiful George Michael. And who says you couldn’t like both. It was feel good music but a tad too boppy for me. However when he went solo, I was more invested in the song writing etc… As for the rap, uuummm NO!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
For a visual treat, Club Tropicana.
ruclips.net/video/lMH_AdLaxPI/видео.html
George Michael a unique voice at the least
I am from Arabia and big fan of George Michael since he was in Wham! Very talented writer and composer…you missed great songs such as Different Corner, Careless Whisper, Edge of Heaven, where dis your heart go?, and Club Tropicana
Young man, you warm my GenX heart. 🥰
Thank you so much for watching! 😊❤️
I too, always get conflicted when i see George in in blue shorts and a pink sweater.
Is that possibly the dad of Tayce from Drag Race UK on bass in I'm Your Man?
Yup. Wake me up before you go go and jitterbug. That was my Wham song I suppose you could say. I tried. I really did try to jitterbug. I was 10. I sucked at it. But that was a must to that song!
I never saw or heard boys ever! You taught me something!
You have such an infectious smile I love your little comments all whams songs get you moving go go was Motown sounding I loved it as well as George of course
Thank you!
WHAM so awesome, what a time that was, still great.
Till this day, I'm angry with my dad for not allowing me and my sister go to the filming of WMUBYGG video, (we were 12 and 14 years old)...😤🙄🤣 I Remember it being announced on the local radio that they wanted fans to come down and to bring 2 outfits... 1 white and the other dayglow/florescent... We were ready, all good to go, but dad had other plans... Scarred for life🤣
Oh no!! 😂
Young Guns (Go For It) should be your next Wham video.
Me too! Thank you for the info!
love the 80s music and clothes everything
Aretha Franklin’s song Freeway Of Love sounds so much like I’m Your Man, same sound and instrumentation. Since they did a duo together, George had to have produced that song for her. They’re too similar to just be a coincidence.
I am here for the studded black leather and the hot pants too!
They were 18 here
Fantastic
I love those early 80s videos.
Wham rap was their first single, they were 18/19
Love that song so much ! 💖💖
