Paper Plates or Silver Platters

This episode turned out to be an honest conversation about the struggles we have with typical and topical presentations of something claiming to be the gospel. In reality, those topical presentations convince very few people to alter their lives for God and don’t produce much if any lasting fruit. Rather, the thing that produces real change in our lives and in the lives of anyone who hears it is the message of the Great Renewal, the Paligenesia, of heaven coming to earth. In short, it’s the Kingdom of God. We freely admit that we aren’t great at preaching the Word, but also we explore what preaching has traditionally meant but what it can and should be. Telling people the good news of the Kingdom of God happens every day in very normal ways much more than it does from a pulpit.
