When you said, 'Sisters? The sisters took the rest of your china!!!', I laughed so loud and hard that my husband was just staring at me, and asked me, 'what would make antique dish videos so funny?'. But being the oldest of 5 girls, I knew exactly what you meant. We all know that being the oldest does nothing for you but the youngest is always "The Baby". It was the expression on your face and in your voice that cracked me up. I have probably had the same expression many times before.

Hi Dr.Lori, I fond of collecting vintage dishwares and I just started actually. I recently got a set of the brand KPM which is german based how do I know if it’s real or not?
I have a question about Indiana carnival glass. Does a manufacturing defect ( it looks like a scratch on the bottom of a large canister) diminish the value of a piece? And if so, how much so? Thank you!
I can help, but need to see your piece in order to answer your question accurately. I need to verify if your piece is in fact carnival glass. I'm not saying it isn't but I've see many people mis-identify items so when I am asked such questions I need to verify. Plus I have to see the condition to determine if it's a defect or scratch and how bad this issue might be. Many factors determine value. Can you send me photos? Bring it to one of my events? Show me during a FaceTime or Skype call?
I have a very large dinner set (serves 24, 3 different size plates, double most acessories, tripple some, plus cake platter, flower arrangement thing etc.) but no cups or saucers. It is ate 18th C or early 19th C bright white fully glazed hand painted with simple flowers (each unique but matching). Said to be imported by my family in St. Petersburg Rissia from France. May have been hand painted and glazed/reglazed in Russia. Gold around edges except where worn. Everything has a small floral in the bottom middle but nothing is just "for nice". We use it on occasions - continuously used. None of the now Dutch family (who escaped the revolution with their dinner set!) had room for it that's why they shipped it all to my dad here in Canada. I think it is over the top amazing to have. I can email photos if you are curious - perhaps you will know more about its type and be able to date it better. Not for sale unless we're starving.

You are awesome!
Great, happy to hear you are still learning!!
Dr lori what does bone China means? Did they use human bone or animals bone?please explain thx
I explain in a detailed article on my website. Use my search on my website and use "bone china"
Leif, I can help. Need to look at photos to verify what you really have :) You are welcome to send photos using the form on my website or schedule a video call and show me the pieces that way too.
I have a beautiful bowl with lid, 100 jahre, Bareuther Waldsasson, Bavaria... under the lid 116. The lid has a two tone red rose/stem and leaves, and below that is yellow/tan box with a green and yellow outlined rose. I cannot find information on it anywhere on internet. Is there a better place to search?
I can identify and value it. Send me photos. Use the form on my website. To get to the form, watch a video and click on the "i" icon in the top right corner. See my face? Click on that and it will take you to the Send Photos form on my website.
Love your show yes I’m liking and sharing. I think it is great that you pursued so much education.

Darlenne, I can help, but need to see it. Can you send me photos, bring it to one of my events? Or, show me during a FaceTime or Skype call?
