Ah, the proto-simp.
*me coming to the bar, sees a nice woman*
You are a prim looking stargazer
Lol the funny thing is that it might actually work. Just as likely to be set up to get shot down though lmao
any thoughts on what stargazer might mean? sounds like a polite term for prostitute, but everything they say in these movies could be that or anything else (woman who is awake at night and outside able to see the stars)
@@MajesticSkywhale a good looking woman, I guess
@@BramsCommando I thought so at first too but that might be taken care of just with prim right? Just a thought
You need the accent
''I let her take things all the time''

my god, Cameron Diaz was such a prime looking stargazer...
wait...
She has aged terrible
why didn't they invited Collin Ferrell to this Movie?, a perfect Irishman.
He was doing the movie S.W.A.T., that's why. LMFAO! Farrell didn't become a real actor until after that.
@@CooManTunes Bullshit. Farrell did Minority Report and Phone Booth the year before this, and he was great in those. Get the hell out of here with that "real actor" nonsense.
Martin Scorsese's original choice for Jenny was Sarah Polley. The studio forced him to pick someone more well-known. It feels unfair to Cameron Diaz, because she's not bad, but good lord do i wish we'd gotten to see Polley in the role instead.
>>"I let her take things all the time"
That's a despo lover boy there
Beta lover more like.
@@InVinoVeratas Lol, try saying "beta" out loud and see how dumb you look.
It’s not really that dumb considering the bible loves to talk about the alpha, beta and omega. In the context of actual English and not degenerate Internet memes, it’s been around longer than the memes.
@@InVinoVeratas The bible reference just makes it strange, IMO.
The current term is simp
With all the goofy names for things it's like a Dr. Seuss book but for adults.
Sadly, all of them were real gangs. The Dead Rabbits were actually the Da Rabbi which means “Big Thugs” but got mistranslated.
Fun Fact They go by every person who was on the Dead Rabbits side during beginning fight
"...i let her take it..."😂
Am i the only one that can just hear leo and Camerons normal voice like there is no accent 😂 😂
Now THAT is a real irish accent
Not DiCaprio's
That is a dodgy, dodgy accent
Well the people who immigrated here actually had accents in some cases more similar to that of how many modern Americans speak today rather than how irish people sound now.
Why would moving from Ireland, just change their accents? It’d have to be a conscious decision to hide one’s accent.
@@flatplant there is zero truth to that. The vast majority of people coming into New York from Ireland in the mid 19th century would have been Irish speakers. Some from the west of Ireland didn't even speak English at all.
The boy can do the most convincing Rhodesian/South African Afrikaans accent ever. Think about it, his character was taught to speak initially by his dad Priest Vallon who was off the boat Irish but when he died he went to live in a boys home so his accent would slowly morph from pure Irish to American and now it's combination of both. Haven't you halfwits ever met someone from another country but they've lived in a different country for ages and they sound like they have both accents, it's bizarre. But there will always be halfwits that just think Leo's "failed" to do an Irish accent lmfao.which is stupid because then the studios would never let it fly. A world renown director like Scorsese knows more than you, I doubt he didn't notice or didn't care.
David Ee Nah man. I meet halfwits in youtube comments.
Is that Henry Thomas from E.T?
It is that

It sounds so fucking badass but I can't find the name of it anywhere. Not on the Soundtrack or anything.

PRIM LOOKING STARGAZER
Hey its Detroit lmao
thats samuel bruh
I am Irish and I don't understand half the stuff they were on about here, stargazer never heard anyone use that before, the wee man in the man in the middle of the square should of had all the main roles. Here are a few phrases you here on a daily, people call each other mate, love, son. no one used arse either. God just cause ya don't know about the accent, doesn't mean you should make up words. I hope this has been informative.
Well, Angel... You're assuming they were going for an Irish accent. Perhaps it was a New York accent tinged with an Irish inheritance they were going for? Something from the era and locale, maybe? Not saying it's so; just maybe. :)
You have to factor in the 19th century New York English vernacular of that time. You're applying 2018 Irish math to something you don't understand fully.
nope, sorry.
ibrohiem haha got him good 🤗
Does the Irish still live in the 19th century? Otherwise I don't know how you would know that for sure. There's alot of words people don't use anymore.
I love Cameron Diaz but damn she was horrible in this film
How many did Harvey touch in this movie?
Only 6 so not that many which is good.

Omg Leos irish accent is horrible😂😂😂
It's not supposed to be an Irish accent. He was born in New York to Irish immigrants.
Really, there were no actors from Ireland they could have given more of the speaking parts to?
You do understand it’s New York City not Dublin .
The character has been living in nyc for his entire life . He clearly isn’t Irish .
You hear Latino people’s accent change as they live longer here .
The USA was better during this time.
No it wasn’t . I’m sorry it wasn’t .
@@1945joshuaruiz He means racially.
Cringe so hard at Leo's attempt at Irish accent. As for Cameron Diaz she didn't even try
I’ve heard worse Irish accents than Leo’s but I gotta say Cameron Diaz’s is fucking awful!!
If they were in America in NY since they were children wouldn't they be speaking more with an American NY accent?
They were more segregated back then. Immigrants, especially the Irish had to live in the slums like the five points.
They stuck to their own and kept elements of their own accent. Sort of like Chicanos have their own accent and some still speak Spanish after generations when living in a community surrounded by their own people
leonardo dicaprio's accent is so fucking bad
Dandies and their aprons.
Jake Gyllenhaal is a better actor than Leo Di Caprio
The Irish accents in this are horrific
Once again it’s NYC it’s not Dublin
Supposed to be early Irish American accents, they even go into this point about Leo's characters accent in the film as being different from new comers from Ireland
